Abstract:Philosophers of China are always highly praising ＂unity of knowing-doing＂. Nowadays, ＂lack of unity of knowing-doing＂ in the process of cultivating talents is mainly reflected in how to be a man and how to learn. Working out the problem of ＂lack of unity of knowing-doing＂ in cultivating tal- ents should start with developing students ~ sense of social responsibility, deepening teaching reform, constructing teachers＇ virtue, strenghtening the construction of extracurricular activities and campus culture and making full use of social and educational resources, which emphasizes the guiding functions of teachers and the subject position of students. Students＇ initiative should be fully displayed and ＂unity of knowing-doing＂ of students should be integrated into the whole process and field of teaching and talent cultivation so that students will truly become innovative talents who have highly- developed social conscience, innovative spirits, practical capability and ＂unity of knowing-doing in work and life.

Abstract:In order to implement the new era's military education policy, it is essential for military academy students to possess critical thinking skills to cope with the complex and ever-changing battlefield conditions. However, the cultivation of critical thinking skills is not only a common challenge faced by higher education but also a weakness in talent development within the College English course. It is challenging for instructors to address other qualities that "high-quality" talents should possess, especially critical thinking skills, innovative abilities, and independent problem-solving capabilities. This article primarily analyzes how to enhance and cultivate critical thinking skills among military academy students within the context of College English teaching. The article first emphasizes the importance of critical thinking skills for military academy students and provides an overview of domestic and international approaches to cultivate these skills. It also identifies the challenges faced in cultivating critical thinking skills at military academies and explores methods and approaches to foster critical thinking skills from the perspectives of instructors, students, and institutions.

Abstract:To meet the needs of the new economic development, the “emerging engineering education” requires the cultivation of high-quality compound talents with strong abilities of practice, innovation and international competitiveness. The academy system, as the useful supplements of the running mode of modern universities, focuses more on the general education and discipline integration, the second classroom and self-management, collaborative education and teacher-student community than the traditional college system. Therefore, it is more conducive to the cultivation of students’ compound knowledge structure, common features of compound ability and compound thinking model. It has become a helpful exploration of the current cultivation mode of compound talents in China.

Abstract:Foreign language capabilities facilitate combat effectiveness. United States Military Academy at West Point is relatively experienced in cultivating the foreign language capabilities of the cadets since they believe US army is globally committed. The paper first makes a general introduction of the mission, the Overarching Academic Goal and the academic program, then details on the curriculum system of foreign languages and the student learning outcomes and summarizes the salient features of its cultivating of foreign language capabilities in five sections. In order to enlighten the foreign language course reform in China's military academies, five suggestions are drawn in the aspects of the scope of foreign languages, the class size, cultural education, military and political attainment and interdisciplinary integration.

Abstract:The construction of world-class universities and first-class disciplines is a major strategic decision made by the CPC Central Committee, which is of great significance for enhancing the level of China's educational development, strengthening the core competitiveness of the country and laying the foundation for long-term development. As an important part of the university faculty, university administrators will become specific organizers and implementers of school development and discipline construction in the context of "double first-class". However, at present, the overall ability and quality of university management personnel are not yet compatible with the requirements of "double first-class" university construction. Therefore, it is urgent to cultivate and build a team of managers who are both moral and talented, who know their profession, who understand education, who are good at management, and who have a reasonable structure and are relatively stable, so as to make sure that they are compatible with the construction and development of the "double first-class" universities.

Abstract:Research-oriented universities,which focus on scientific research and talents cultivating,emerge in China as a result of the rapid development of science and technology in the 20th century.Talents in research-oriented universities include an outstanding research and teaching staff and excellent postgraduates.A research-oriented university plays an indispensable role in cultivating talents by taking advantage of its strong teaching staff, first class facilities for scientific research and sufficient funding.The paper presents a statistical analysis of 15 research-oriented universities in China,such as Tsinghua University,Beijing University and Nanjing University.Based on the analysis,four suggestions are made with regard to the policies concerning university teaching,university management,scientific research and fund use.

Through students’ understanding of our country’s military theory, students will be interested in military strategy research, cultivate high-quality defense forces, and provide a steady stream of talents for national defense. At the same time, the development of military theory education courses can enrich the educational content system, allow students to understand the situation of national defense in depth, and expand the construction of students' theoretical knowledge. Abstract:Using the research methods of literature,questionnaire,interviews to experts etc.,it did research on the key links and present condition of carrying out the cultivation of the advanced coaches in our country.The results show that the cultivation of the advanced coaches in our country has formed the unique training system;coaches have higher athletic level and rich coaching experience;the cultivation of coaches' ability is a lack in position training;the educational background of teachers rank is higher,but it's necessary to strengthen the cultivation of reserve talents;the training safeguard system mainly includes such two parts as funds and training base.As a result,it offered proposals for the sustainable development of China's advanced coaches' training in the respects of management system,training channels,training contents,training teaching material and so on.

Abstract:Background: Institutions of higher education, specifically service academies, interested in developing character in their students/cadets should consider creating a culture of character growth to accomplish their task. One potential way to do this is to focus on developing faculty character along with character competence as it relates to student/cadet character formation. Objective: At the United States Military Academy, we recently piloted a character faculty development series for Center for Enhanced Performance faculty aimed at improving faculty character formation, increasing faculty competence with respect to developing cadet character through one-on-one relationships, and integrating character formation into their teaching. The goal of this project was to assess feasibility and acceptability of the series. Methods: The Center for Enhanced Performance faculty experienced a three-part character faculty development series: (1) Faculty character formation, (2) Developing cadet character through one-on-one relationships, and (3) Integrating character into the classroom. To assess feasibility and acceptability of the series, a survey was sent to faculty after completion. Results: A total of nine faculty members completed the survey and found the training worthwhile, that it increased their confidence in developing cadets’ character and integrating character formation into their teaching, along with each character formation tool being useful. Conclusions: Character faculty developing series should be tried and can be feasible and acceptable to faculty.

Abstract:Craftsman's spirit is one of guiding ideologies for cultivating masters in engineering, which is indispensable professional spirit and moral thought for scientific research personnel, and it is necessary for contemporary graduate students to integrate into the society and realize transformation of scientific research achievements and career development. Education institutions of masters in engineering should pay attention to important connotation of three aspects in 'craftsman's spirit' cultivation, namely respect for teachers, dedication and excellence pursuit. They focus on 'craftsman's spirit' infiltration in all links of talent cultivation.
