Abstract:who worked year-round in handling announcements, calls for papers, program preparation, Allerton House arrangements, registration, and the final editing of these Proceedings.The lion's share of the credit for the success of the Conference belongs to these individuals and it gives us the greatest pleasure to acknowledge this here.We close this foreword with the countdown for the reopening of the time capsule buried Tuesday, September 30, 1997, on the occasion of the Thirty-Fifth Annual Allerton Conference.This leaves 13 years remaining until its reopening.The capsule can be reached by taking 35 paces North from the Allerton House, along a line extending from the eastern face of the house.The GPS coordinates (WGS84) of the time capsule are 40 degrees 00 minutes 15.39750 seconds North latitude, and 88 degrees 38 minutes 41.74234 seconds West longitude.
