Labor Induction Outcome of Uterine Artery Embolization for Central Type Placenta Previa of Middle and Late Pregnancy

Abstract:Objective To study the effect of uterine artery embolization(UAE) on induced labor outcome of central type placenta previa in middle and late pregnancy.Methods 67 cases of patients with central type placenta previa in middle and late pregnancy treated in our hospital from January 2009 to December 2014 were selected as research objects and divided into observation group(34 cases) and control group(33 cases) according to whether implementing UAE.The control group was treated with conventional caesarean section,while the observation group was treated with uterine artery embolization.The postpartum hemorrhage and incidence of complications were compared.Results The postpartum hemorrhage of observation group was(298.71 ± 31.52) m L,significantly less than(587.18 ± 40.62) m L of control group,with statistical difference(P 0.05).The complications rate of the observation group was 8.82%,significantly lower than30.30% of the control group,with statistical difference(P 0.05).Conclusions For patients with central type placenta previa in middle and late pregnancy,uterine artery embolization can effectively reduce the volume of postpartum hemorrhage and incidence of complications,and improve the induced labor outcome.
