Abstract:The communistic household, in which most or all the women belong to one and the same gens, while the husbands come from different gentes, is the cause and foundation of the general and widespread supremacy of women in primeval times. The more in the course of economic development, undermining the old communism and increasing the density of population, the traditional sexual relations lost their innocent character suited to the primitive forest, the more debasing and oppressive they naturally appeared to women; and the more they consequently longed for relief by the right of chastity, of temporary or permanent marriage with one man. The downfall of maternal law was the historic defeat of the female sex. The men seized the reins also in the house, the women were stripped of their dignity, enslaved, tools of men’s lust and mere machines for the generation of children.

Abstract:As an ancient system of marriage ,engagement is provided in relevant laws and regulations in most coun-tries.And in China,it is included in moral adjustment ,not in written laws.Engagement does not disappear in real life despite the lack of legal provisions .In fact ,this phenomenon is still widespread based on the traditional culture influence .Property disputes resulted from dissolution of engagement continue to increase ,so there are many engage-ment disputes without relevant laws ’ adjustment.Legislators should concern and respond to social reality ,and im-prove engagement legislation so as to unify judicature and safeguard the dignity of law .

Abstract:In the Marxist theoretical system, "family" is a very important theoretical category, which is not only the "mystery" Marx and Engels has been trying to solve, but also an important reflection of Marxist philosophy. Marx and Engels held the conviction that the development of the family went through the consanguinity family, the Punaluian family, the paring family and the monogamous family. Marital relationship is the basis of forming a family; blood relationship is the bond of forming a family; family is the organizational form of human social life. Those are the essential characteristics of family. In the new era, while promoting the harmonious development of family, we must know the harmonious marriage relationship is the foundation of family harmony, and that the harmonious parent-child relationship is the key to family harmony. Meanwhile, we should pay attention to the harmonious unity of family and society.

Abstract:Wilhelm Reich, a Marxist believing in Freudism, regarded annihilation of family as an important content of his sex revolution thoughts. The essay argues that what Reich's annihilation of family was not to abolish the form of family fundamentally, but to make the ”natural family' replace the ”compulsory family”, ”matriarchy family” replace ”patriarchy one”. The essay affirms the positive significance of Reich's thoughts, because his disclose of popular patriarchy family, his critique of its oppression of sexual demands are persuasive. However, the essay points out that his announcement of annihilation of family is not acceptable. Reich thought that the transformation from matriarchy family to patriarchy one is a historical disaster, but he could not find its historical necessity. His description of ”natural family” and his calling for resuming matriarchy family, are utopias.

Abstract:Over the past three decades, a distinctly post-socialist form of marriage with high rates of divorce as well as rising rates of marriage and remarriage has emerged as the result of a "triple turn" by the party-state in regard to the institution of marriage: a "turn toward" marriage as a voluntary contract, a "turn away" from close surveillance of sexual relationships, and a "turn away" from protection of communal property. The one-child policy runs against these three prevailing "turns" toward privatization, but to date this contradiction has been muted by a de facto distinction between (strong) control over reproduction and (weak) control over sexual relationships. Moreover, as illustrated here through close analysis of three recent interpretations.. of the Supreme People's Court and interviews with ordinary citizens in Guangzhou and Shanghai, by continuing to extend the logic of voluntary contract to intimate relationships, the party-state's own actions (and inaction) serve to accelerate privatization of marriage in post-socialist China.

Abstract:Since the 1960s, premarital sex among young Western people has become quite widespread and unmarried mothers are common. This has generated serious social problems. Premarital sex in these countries has been bolstered by developments in "sexual freedom" and the move toward "commodification." In some welfare states, unmarried mothers receive a considerable living allowance. This has led to the undesirable practice of certain women having children as a means of obtaining a livelihood. I totally oppose unmarried pregnancy and premarital sex, especially among juveniles. The unity of marriage and sex has to this day been recognized as the moral standard by the majority of Chinese citizens.

Abstract:In Ludwig Feuerbach and the End of Classical German Philosophy, Engels elucidates the principle of Marxism. This book is considered to be the most important text for in constructing the Marxist theoretical system. Adapting to the needs of the times, Engels in this book discusses the importance of German classical philosophy, the falsehood of vulgar materialism, the deficiency of Feuerbach’s materialism and the structure of historical materialism. In his expositions on his materialist viewpoints, as well as on the rational form of dialectics and the progress of nature science, we can find that Engels made an accurate analysis of German social status, philosophy development and socialist movement after 1848. In this sense, Ludwig Feuerbach and the End of Classical German Philosophy provides a classic example of adapting Marxism to the needs of the times, which is instructive in Chinese Marxist Studies today.

Abstract:Introduction. The problem of incomplete coincidence of views of K. Marx and F. Engels has long been raised in marxology. On this topic, D. McLellan, M. Ryubel, K.N. Lubutin and P.N. Kondrashov spoke. However, they were limited to political economy and ontology. We will discuss the views of classics on the origin of private property and the state. Methodology and sources. In this article the textual analysis of the works «Origin of family, private property and state» by F. Engels and «Forms preceding capitalist production» and «Manuscripts of 1844» by K. Marx is taken. The author a dopts a historical-comparative approach, combining the ideas of the classics with those of later Marxist schools. Results and discussion. F. Engels explains the appearance of the state by class contradictions. However, it does not distinguish the concept of «class» from the concept of «estate» and ignores the fact that in the pre-capitalist era an individual opposed another individual as a representative of a community that provided a certain standard of living. In a paragraph entitled «Forms Preceding Capitalist Production» in the «Economic Manuscripts of 1857–1861», K. Marx describes how the state emerged as an organizer of forced community works. This coercion was determined not by socio-political factors but by natural factors. Labor created not only a social product, but also the very relationship of domination. We show the semantic connection of this concept with that which was embodied K. Marx in «Economical-philosophical manuscripts of 1844». Conclusion. In classical Marxism there is no unified concept of the origin of the state and private property; the concepts of K. Marx and F. Engels differ from each other in the interpretation of the role of labor in this process. F. Engels attributes a passive role to labor. For K. Marx, the role of labor is active: labor itself creates its opposite, private property, and with it the state, which arises and exists due to the limitations of labor.

Abstract:Since "Origin" has published,critics have always maintained that Marx's historical materialism only regarded material production as the decisive element in the history,while Engels advocated "there were two kinds existing in production itself",which is called dualism.However,Engels' theory about two kinds of production is extremely historical materialism monism.Decisive element being considered in the course of historical materialism is not material production but material life production,but what it is meant by material life production is the dialectical synthesis of "two kinds of production"-human self production and material production.

Abstract:Abstract This article explores how women of different class backgrounds contest the imperative to enter heteronormative marriage in urban China. While the state and the market propose marriage as the only path to the good life, these women describe it as a risky enterprise and an unequal partnership. The social pressure they face highlights the continuing exclusionary role of marriage in present-day Chinese society, as their stand challenges the state-sponsored narrative of “leftover woman.” These women see their unmarried status not as a sacrifice or loss, but rather as a strategy for preserving their autonomy, well-being, and relationships with their own kin and friends. Accordingly, they come across as desiring subjects, though not as uncivil individualists or affectively precarious. The women's affective choices privilege bonds that exceed the patrilineal family and the conjugal couple. Although this preference may jeopardize their social respectability and limit their prospects for upward mobility, it allows them to explore different avenues to the good life.

Facing directly the pratical signficance to legislate for engagement ,to absorb the useful experience of other countries legislation on engagement ,by the greatful opportunity to prepare to found the civil law code of PRC,adding the engagement system in marriage law is the right way to deal with the engagement problems for our civil legislation.

Abstract:The institution of marriage has undergone significant changes throughout history, and in recent times, there has been a noticeable shift among women towards prioritizing love and personal fulfillment as key factors influencing their decision to marry. As women's education has advanced, there has been a corresponding decrease in the rate of marriage to a certain degree. Nevertheless, a discernible pattern has emerged wherein modern women are increasingly articulating apprehension towards the institution of marriage, citing a multitude of factors including familial obligations, economic encumbrances, and the potential curtailment of individual autonomy. This study employs a literature review method to examine the various aspects that contribute to the phenomenon of marriage apprehension among women in modern society. Specifically, it investigates the evolving perspectives of women towards love, marriage, and cultural norms as key determinants of this anxiety. The primary objective of this study is to examine women's perspectives on marriage and the factors contributing to their decision to remain unmarried. By doing so, this research aims to shed light on prevailing societal issues and the unrealistic societal expectations and demands placed on women in Chinese culture.

Abstract:The basis of human ethics is one of the major elements of social life.While religion,as a cultural factor of the whole social system,greatly influences the rituals and concept of marriage.Through the wedding ceremony,which is considered as the sign of making the commitment of marriage,we find that religion largely affects people's concept of marriage and their family life either by the divine religious wedding ceremony or by the doctrines.However,both Chinese and western marriages turn to religion's discourse power to display their divinity and importance though their cultural patterns and religions are different.

Rethinking Marxism

Abstract:Contrary to the common interpretation that the woman question is only marginal in Marx's thought, this article aims to show that the liberation of women is an integral part of Marx's theory of socialist revolution. It shows through an extrapolation of Marx's views on the family that sociability, which is indispensable to the formation of working-class consciousness, can be developed only in families founded on sexual equality, not in patriarchal families. Thus, in Marx's theory of revolution, women's emancipation within families is a crucial element, essential to overcoming the difficulties involved in the development of sociability within the context of capitalist society. The article also argues that this Marxian perspective on the relationship between the family and politics has been neglected, largely because of many Marxist feminists' tendency to mistakenly conflate the thought of Marx and Engels on the woman question.
