Abstract:In this note, we apply the evolution method to present another proof of the anisotropic version of Heinze-Karcher inequality for hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space, from which the Alexandrov type theorem follows from a standard argument via the Minkowski formula.

Abstract:We consider the problem of deforming a one-parameter family of hypersurfaces immersed into closed Riemannian manifolds with positive curvature operator. The hypersurface in this family satisfies mean curvature flow while the ambient metric satisfying the normalized Ricci flow. We prove that if the initial background manifold is an approximation of a spherical space form and the initial hypersurface also satisfies a suitable pinching condition, then either the hypersurfaces shrink to a round point in finite time or converge to a totally geodesic sphere as the time tends to infinity.

Abstract:In this paper we study the existence of closed convex hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space Rn+1 such that a Weingarten curvature, regarded as a function of their unit normal, is equal to a given positive function on the unit sphere Sn. Two classical problems of this type, namely the Christoffel problem [6] and the Minkowski problem [16], which address respectively the cases of harmonic and Gauss curvature, were completely solved in the 1970’s [7,9,17]. Besides the harmonic and Gauss curvatures, the most interesting Weingarten curvatures are probably the mean curvature, or more generally the k-curvatures (1 ≤ k ≤ n)

Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence of solutions to the centroaffine Minkowski problem, namely the existence of closed convex hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space R n + 1 \mathbb {R}^{n+1} with prescribed centroaffine curvature. This problem can be described as a variational problem with a functional resembling Kantorovich’s dual functional in optimal transportation. By using the Gauss curvature flow, we obtain new conditions for the existence of solutions to the problem.

Abstract:Some geometric behaviours of complete solutions to mean curvature flow before the singularities occur are studied. The author obtains the estimates of the rate of the distance between two fixed points and the derivatives of the second fundamental form. Abstract:Under the hypothesis of mean curvature flows of hypersurfaces, we prove that the limit of the smooth rescaling of the singularity is weakly convex. It is a generalization of the result due to G. Huisken and C. Sinestrari in [5]. These a-priori bounds are satisfied for mean convex hypersurfaces in locally symmetric Riemannian manifolds with nonnegative sectional curvature.

Abstract:Let M be an n-dimensional closed hypersurface with constant mean curvature and constant scalar curvature in a unit sphere. Denote by H and S the mean curvature and the squared length of the second fundamental form. We prove that if a(n, H) <= S <= alpha( n, H)+ CnH2, where n >= 4 and H not equal 0, then S = alpha( n, H) and M is a Clifford torus Sn-1(r(1)) x S-1(r(2)). Here alpha(n, H) = n + n(3)/2(n -1) H-2 - n(n - 2)/2(n - 1) root n(2)H(4) + 4(n - 1) H-2, and C-n is a positive constant explicitly depending on n. The emphasis is that our gap theorem imposes no restriction on the range of mean curvature. Moreover, we obtain gap theorems for complete hypersurfaces with constant mean curvature and constant scalar curvature in space forms.

Abstract:We prove a Bernstein type theorem for ancient solutions to the mean curvature flow in higher codimension. Abstract:In this paper, we prove a new Heintze–Karcher type inequality for shifted mean convex hypersurfaces in hyperbolic space. As applications, we prove an Alexandrov-type theorem for closed embedded hypersurfaces with constant shifted k th mean curvature in hyperbolic space. Furthermore, two uniqueness results for certain curvature equations are also obtained.

Abstract:We establish Minkowski formulae and a Heintze-Karcher type inequality for anisotropic hypersurfaces in a classical wedge in Euclidean space. As an application, we prove an Alexandrov-type theorem. This extends the results in \cite{JWXZ} to the anisotropic case.

Abstract:Given a positive function F on S-n which satisfies a convexity condition, for 1 <= r <= n, we define for hypersurfaces in Rn+1 the r-th anisotropic mean curvature function H-r(F), a generalization of the usual r-th mean curvature function. We prove that a compact embedded hypersurface without boundary in Rn+1 with H-r(F) constant is the Wulff shape, up to translations and homotheties. In the case r = 1, our result is the anisotropic version of Alexandrov's Theorem, which gives an affirmative answer to an open problem of E Morgan.

Abstract:In this paper, we give the geometric meaning of hypersurfaces with constant mean curvature in a Finsler manifold by using volume preserving variation. Then we give the correspondence between principal curvatures of submanifolds by a homothetic navigation, which means that some geometric properties of submanifolds are the same. Finally, we deduce a Heintze-Karcher type inequality and prove an Alexandrov type theorem in special Finsler spaces.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish a Heintze-Karcher type inequality for hypersurfaces with capillary boundary of contact angle $\theta\in (0,\frac{\pi}{2})$ in a half space or a half ball, by using solution to a mixed boundary value problem in Reilly type formula. Consequently, we give a new proof of Alexandrov type theorem for embedded capillary constant mean curvature hypersurfaces with contact angle $\theta\in (0,\frac{\pi}{2})$ in a half space or a half ball.

Abstract:In this article, we will use inverse mean curvature flow to establish an optimal Sobolev-type inequality for hypersurfaces $$\Sigma $$ with nonnegative sectional curvature in $$\mathbb {H}^n$$ . As an application, we prove the hyperbolic Alexandrov–Fenchel inequalities for hypersurfaces with nonnegative sectional curvature in $$\mathbb {H}^n$$ : $$\begin{aligned} \int _{\Sigma } p_{2k}\ge \omega _{n-1}\left[ \left( \frac{|\Sigma |}{\omega _{n-1}}\right) ^\frac{1}{k} +\left( \frac{|\Sigma |}{\omega _{n-1}}\right) ^{\frac{1}{k}\frac{n-1-2k}{n-1}}\right] ^k, \end{aligned}$$ where $$p_i$$ is the normalized i-th mean curvature. Equality holds if and only if $$\Sigma $$ is a geodesic sphere in $$\mathbb {H}^n$$ . Equality holds if and only if $$\Sigma $$ is a geodesic sphere in $$\mathbb {H}^n$$ . All these inequalities were previously proved by Ge et al. (J Differ Geom 98:237–260, 2014) under the stronger condition that $$\Sigma $$ is horospherical convex.

Abstract:Given a positive function F on S n which satisfies a convexity condition, we define the r-th anisotropic mean curvature function H F for hypersurfaces in R n+1 which is a generalization of the usual r-th mean curvature function. Let X : M ! R n+1 be an n-dimensional closed hypersurface with H F r+1 =constant, for some r with 0 � rn 1, which is a critical point for a variational problem. We show that X(M) is stable if and only if X(M) is the Wulff shape.

Abstract:Let $M^{n+1}$ be a closed manifold of dimension $3\le n+1\le 7$ equipped with a generic Riemannian metric $g$. Let $c$ be a positive number. We show that, either there exist infinitely many distinct closed hypersurfaces with constant mean curvature equal to $c$, or there exist infinitely many distinct closed hypersurfaces with constant mean curvature less than $c$ but enclosing half the volume of $M$.

Abstract:In this paper, an anisotropic volume-preserving mean curvature type flow for star-shaped anisotropic $\omega_0$-capillary hypersurfaces in the half-space is studied, and the long-time existence and smooth convergence to a capillary Wulff shape are obtained. If the initial hypersurface is strictly convex and Wulff shape satisfies a mild condition, the solution of this flow remains to be strictly convex for all $t>0$ by adopting a new approach applicable to anisotropic capillary setting. Furthermore, we define some suitable quermassintegrals for anisotropic capillary hypersurfaces, which satisfy some monotonicity results along the flow. As applications, we establish an anisotropic capillary isoperimetric inequality for star-shaped anisotropic capillary hypersurfaces and a family of new Alexandrov-Fenchel inequalities for strictly convex anisotropic capillary hypersurfaces.

Abstract:We employ the harmonic mean curvature flow of strictly convex closed hypersurfaces in hyperbolic space to prove Alexandrov-Fenchel type inequalities relating quermassintegrals to the total curvature, which is the integral of Gaussian curvature on the hypersurface. The resulting inequality allows us to use the inverse mean curvature flow to prove Alexandrov-Fenchel inequalities between the total curvature and the area for strictly convex hypersurfaces. Finally, we apply the harmonic mean curvature flow to prove a new class of geometric inequalities for h-convex hypersurfaces in hyperbolic space.

Abstract:We study rigidity problems for hypersurfaces with constant curvature quotients H2k+1/H-2k in the warped product manifolds. Here H-2k is the k-th Gauss-Bonnet curvature and H2k+1 arises from the first variation of the total integration of H-2k. Hence the quotients considered here are in general different from sigma(2k+1)/sigma(2k), where sigma(k) are the usual mean curvatures. We prove several rigidity and Bernstein-type results for compact or noncompact hypersurfaces corresponding to such quotients.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the star-shaped hypersurfaces evolved by a class of inverse mean curvature type flows in the anti-de Sitter-Schwarzschild manifold. We give C 0 , C 1 , C 2 estimates of the flow. Using these facts, we prove that the solution exists for all time and the principal curvatures converge to 1 polynomially fast.
