STENINAE FAUNA AND DISTRIBUTION PATTERNS IN CHINA(COLEOPTERA,STAPHYLINIDAE)

Abstract:Based on the field investigations in the past and all published literatures,we analyze and compare the regional similarity and distribution patterns of Steninae in China.In total,291 Steninae species,which belonging to 2 genera (Dianous 98 species,Stenus 193 species),were recorded in China.The result of cluster analysis showed the fauna of Chinese Steninae was divided into four regions (A,B,C,D):region A almost covered the whole east areas of China which was composed of subregion Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅳ; region B included subregion Ⅲ and Ⅶ; region C included subregion Ⅴ; region D included subregion Ⅵ.In addition,the species of Steninae were the richest in 25°-31°N and 601-700 m altitudinal range in China.The ecological environment greatly influences the species composition and distribution.
