Abstract:The purpose of this study is to design and develop a Web based circuit virtual laboratory for undergraduate student courses, which can be treated as an accessorial tool for enhancing instruction. The study firstly reviews the general concept of virtual laboratory and some related works. Secondly, the design and development of the system framework of this circuit virtual laboratory is discussed. Finally, the paper introduces the evaluation from the tutors and students using the virtual laboratory. One of the major objectives of this project is the client adopted rich Internet applications (RIAs) to enhance the students' learning experience and provides significant impact on users' learning motivation. With the support of this system, the students' uninfluenced learning and experiment process can be carried out at any place of the world where Web access is available.

Abstract:With the development of E-learning technology, web-based virtual laboratory has aroused more and more attention of educators. In this paper, we describe the design of a web-based electronic circuit virtual laboratory system for digital circuit This system provides the user with real expression, convenient operation and powerful simulation capability. Furthermore, we designed segment-simulation mechanism and circuit status persistence mechanism to realize the simulation process in digital circuit. At the moment, ECVlab (Electronic Circuit Virtual Laboratory) has been implemented and successfully applied in an undergraduate course in Zhejiang University and has gained positive evaluation from the undergraduate students.

Abstract:With the development of remote education,the requirement of remote virtual experiments(RVE)is boosting.Remote virtual experiment of circuits(RVEC)is one of the important applications in RVE.The difficulty of RVEC system developmetn is that the simulation should be real,continual and could support real-time interactions.Focusing on these puzzles the real-time continual simulation technology based on the time-slice strategy is presented the simulation process is splitted into several time-slices,and along with context-resetting and interactive response mechanism,the contimal simulation is adived.Based on the technology,a continual and interactive RVEC platform is designed and realized.

Abstract:ion A virtual experimental platform for electronic circuit is proposed which is based on Spice,multimedia,network and database.Especially focuses on how to realize the full process of translating the user's requirements,which are received from client via XML,into the input file(.CIR) of Spice,then invoking Spice to simulate so that get the output file(.OUT) containing data of circuit calculation from which getting the right results,lastly sending them to client also using XML format.Finally shows the effect of the platform by giving an example.

Abstract:In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of a web-based electronic circuit simulation system named ECVlab. This system combines technologies as rich client technology, XML, and circuit simulation, and provides the user with vivid interface, convenient operation and powerful simulation capability. At the moment, ECVlab has been implemented and successfully applied in an undergraduate course in Zhejiang University and it was evaluated by undergraduate students. Students made statistically significant learning gains as a result of using ECVlab, and rated them positively in terms of improving operation capability, enhancing interests for digital circuit and offering opportunity to inspire innovation and exploration. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.

Abstract:Network Virtualization can diversify the future Internet architecture into separate virtual networks according to different applications and requirements. Telecom operators adopt network virtualization technologies to design virtual networks to meet users' requirements and achieve high efficiency, low cost, controllability, etc. Previous researches focus on virtual networks construction based on restriction conditions of link bandwidth or optimal topology design for virtual network. In this paper we propose a multi-commodity flow model to design virtual networks based on virtual router. We then define the load of node as a parameter, based on comprehensive consideration of node's capacity and load balance. We validate the effectiveness of our algorithm through simulation. Simulation experiments show that the proposed algorithm is a good solution to the problem of virtual networks construction and also improve load balance of the substrate networks.

Abstract:The design and implementation of digital systems are becoming increasingly complex, and the methods of language description and system design are widely used. The teaching of the undergraduate stage is still based on the basic functions and usage methods of medium-sized logic chips. When students design digital logic circuits, they are often limited by the hardware conditions of fixed chips. The teaching mode with typical chips as clues has been separated from the current technical reality, and there are characteristics of backward technology. This paper proposes a set of virtual chips with high flexibility and strong practicability. It is a computer program with high selectivity based on the hardware implementation of field programmable gate array (FPGA) pocket machine to complete the corresponding digital logic operation function. It is a comprehensive application of hardware language based on the theoretical knowledge of the digital circuit course. The comparative analysis is carried out from two aspects of practical operation and theoretical learning by applying the virtual chip cases to the digital circuit course. The designed virtual chip could effectively improve the students' comprehensive application ability of digital circuit knowledge and the design ability of the actual digital circuit system. It has a specific supporting role in improving the teaching quality of introductory courses of electronic information speciality and cultivating students' practical ability.

Abstract:Simulation has been widely adopted as a support tool for the validation and experimentation of distributed systems. It allows different devices and applications to be evaluated and analyzed without requiring the actual presence of those machines. Although the simulation plays an important role in investigating and evaluating the behaviors of devices, it results in a serious simulator building problem as the distributed systems become more and more complicated and dynamically data driven. Most of the existing simulators are designed and developed to target a specific type of application, lacking the capabilities to be a configurable and standardized tool for researchers. To solve the adaptability and reusability problems of simulators, this paper proposes a new approach to design and implement a configurable real-time digital simulator for hardware devices that are connected via data buses in distributed systems. First, the proposed simulator uses a logic automaton to simulate the activities of a real device, and generates the incentive data for tested equipment according to the predefined XML-based files. Then with a virtual bus, the simulator can receive, handle, and send data in various network environments, improving the flexibility and adaptability of a simulator design. Experimental results show that the proposed simulator has a high real-time performance, and can meet the increasing requirements of modern simulations of distributed systems.

Abstract:(Abstract )This paper describes the application of Virtual electrical and electronic network laboratory named iEEVL(Internet-based Electrical Engineering Virtual Lab) based on Modelica for unified modeling. In iEEVL, experiments for six courses including circuit theory, analog electronic technique, digital electronic technique, micro-electronics, Micro Control Unit(MCU) and Digital Signal Processing(DSP) are implemented. Modelica is used for unified modeling. Details about using Modelica for modeling are discussed. The lab enables users to design their own circuit and get simulation result simultaneously. Teachers may design new component with Modelica and add to the lab for students' use.

Abstract:This paper proposed the design model and implementing method of virtual Computer Networks lab which is based on NS2. In this lab, the client part is implemented with Java Applet, NS2 is used as computing platform, Nam is used as the tool for displaying in the client, and Java RMI is used for communication between the server and the client. The virtual experiment equipments are implemented with Java Bean. The server that uses NS2 as computing platform has powerful simulating capability. The Web-based Virtual Computer Networks lab provides platform between users and NS2, which makes users leave out the trouble of studying NS2. Users can use it to do network simulation experiment and deeply understand the complex behavior in computer networks.

Abstract:With the rapid development of emerging engineering education, virtual simulation has become a major direction in experimental teaching. However, virtual simulation experiment teaching is clearly different from traditional experimental teaching. Virtual simulation breaks free from the constraints of reproducing theoretical teaching in traditional experiments and becomes a completely new teaching method. For this reason, this paper proposes an analysis framework for students' generative learning and a multimodal data fusion analysis model for virtual simulation experiment teaching. It also presents a design framework for experiment teaching virtual simulation projects that facilitate generative learning. By analyzing the process of virtual learning of simulation experiment of current students from a generative learning perspective, novel strategies for designing virtual simulation experiment teaching are developed, effectively promoting the development of virtual simulation experimental teaching in higher education.

Abstract:This paper uses Matlab/Simulink as a software tool to design virtual lab used in automation control theory. To make the virtual labs easy in the course of automation control for Sino-Italian cooperation education project, a module based virtual lab design model is proposed. Virtual lab architecture for system performance in automation control theory is designed. Performance analysis in time domain and frequency domain is conducted. Two classes of experiments included in virtual experiment architecture are introduced. Then module based virtual lab design model is introduced in practice. Case study of typical virtual labs about system performance analysis is conducted. To validate the model proposed in this paper, steady-state error analysis, steady-state error analysis of the system is designed and further conducted by specific diagrams plotted in Matlab/Simulink software.

Abstract:The integrated circuit (IC) is a subject for which researchers need practical experience, but its experiment cost is high, the risk involved is high, and it is not easy to carry out experiments on a large scale. This paper designs a three-dimensional integrated circuit virtual experiment platform based on Unity3d. The platform uses the Unity3d and 3ds Max tools to build a three-dimensional model of instruments, equipment, electronic components, and ultra cleanroom laboratory scenes in an integrated circuit experiment. In addition, it uses C# script to develop the functions and three-dimensional simulation of general virtual instruments and equipment and deploys the experimental website using the frame of the jspxcms open source website. The experimental platform arranges the three-dimensional web file WebGL file in the cloud. Students can use video and text materials to acquire basic IC knowledge at any time and conduct IC virtual experiments safely, efficiently, and without constraints. At present, the platform has been tested and used in teaching and has received high praise and recognition from students.
