Abstract:A total of 40 isolates of soil dematiaceous hyphomycetes belonging to 23 species in 16 genera were obtained from soil samples of Shennongjia Natural Conservation Area. Among them, Curvularia hubeiensis is described as a new species, Scytalidium thermophilum and Torula graminis are new records to China. All specimens (dried cultures) and living cultures studied have been deposited in the Herbarium of Shandong Agricultural University: Plant Pathology (HSAUP).

Abstract:Summary Dendrobium Candidum ( Orchidaceae) is an aerophyte cultivated widely in Zhejiang Province as traditional Chinese herbal medicine . Two ?myxomycete diseases" , which affected the growth of plants , were found in cultivated fields of D . candidum in Yueqing City of Zhejiang Province in 2011 . Two ?pathogens" were identifiedas Comatrichapulchella(C.Bab) Rostaf.and Fuligoseptica(L.) Wigg.bymorphologicalcharacters and molecular data , including light microscopy , scanning electron microscopy , spore germination and analysis of 18SrDNAsequences.Sporocarpsof C.pulchellawerestipitateandgregarious,withabout2.2mmintotalheight and cylinder‐shaped sporangia , intensively distributed on the plant stem and leaf surface; its dense capillitium arose from the entire columella and dark spores in mass ( 7 .2 8 .0μm in diameter) . Whereas , the sporocarp of F . septica was a large scale cushion‐shaped or irregular type aethalium , with up to 15 cm in length and the colors of the outer peridium in the spore‐bearing stage , which could cover the whole cluster of the plants . White , stipitate and young sporangia were observed on young leaves and stems of D . Candidum after 15 d of inoculation with C . pulchella , and the mature sporangia were observed after 20 d of inoculation . Whereas , no sporocarp was observed on young leaves and stems of D . Candidum , but yellowish sporocarps produced on the substrate near the root after 15 d of inoculation with F . septica;with development of the sporocarp , the color became opalescent , and large sporocarps were observed after 30 d of inoculation , which covered the basal part of stems . The artificial inoculation results showed that both the myxomycetes could not infect the living plants . To the best of our knowledge , the two species both were the new record in Zhejiang Province . The discovery of C . pulchella and F . septica enriches the fungal resources of Zhejiang Province and also provides fundamental materials to further study on geographical distribution and diversity of myxomycete in China .

Descriptions and illustrations are provided for each taxon and comments on closely related genera and species arc included.

Abstract:Three new species, Myrothecium bacilliforme, M. biforme and M. macrosporum, and one new variety, M. ad‐ vena var. terricola from soils of China are reported. A key to 12 species and varieties of Myrothecium known from soils in China are provided. Holotypes, all other specimens(dried cultures) and living cultures examined are deposited in the Herbarium of Shandong Agricultural University: Plant Pathology(HSAUP). Isotypes(dried cultures) are kept in HMAS.

Abstract:31 dematiaceous hyphomycetes belonging to 18 genera are reported from Shennongjia region, China. Among them, 2 new species are described and illustrated. Acrodictys oblonga sp. nov. is characterized by percurrently proliferating conidiophores, lageniform to doliiform conidiogenous cells and ellipsoidal to oblong, muriform conidia. Tetraploa opaca sp. nov. is characterized by ovate or obpyriform conidia, usually composed of three columns of cells with long and hard setiform appendages. Six genera; Bactrodesmium, Cordana, Cryptocoryneum, Matsushimaea, Phaeoisariopsis and Trichocladium, and 12 species; Acrodictys atroapicula, A. septosporioides, Bactrodesmium atrum, B. pallidum, Cheiromoniliophora gracilis var. hispanica, Cordana pauciseptata, Crytocoryneum condensation, Dictyosporium toruloides, D. triseriale, Malsushimaea fasciculate, Phaeoisariopsis pubescens and Trichocladium opacum, are new records for China. The new taxa are described and illustrated, and compared with similar species.

Abstract:Hymenopellis is the genus that exhibits the highest number of species within the Xerula/Oudemansiella complex. Numerous species of Hymenopellis demonstrate edibility, and some of these species have been domesticated and cultivated. During an extensive survey carried out in Henan and Jilin Provinces, China, a substantial quantity of Hymenopellis specimens was gathered as a component of the macrofungal resource inventory. Based on the findings of morphological and molecular phylogenetic studies, a new species, Hymenopellis biyangensis, has been identified. A new record species, Hymenopellis altissima, has been discovered in China. Additionally, two new record species, Hymenopellis raphanipes and Xerula strigosa, have been found in Henan Province. Internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and large subunit ribosomal (nrLSU) were used to establish a phylogeny for species identification. Detailed descriptions, field habitat maps and line drawings of these species are presented. The discussion focuses on the relationships between newly discovered species and other related taxa. Additionally, this study provides and a key to the documented species of Hymenopellis and Xerula found in China.

Abstract:Two species of dictyostelids (Dictyostelium aureocephalum and Heterostelium filamentosum) new to China were isolated from samples of forest soils; and a second Chinese record of Coremiostelium polycephalum (previously recorded from Taiwan) was also isolated. Descriptions and illustrations based on these isolates are provided.

Abstract:In this study, we have found two new species— Stropharia subrugosoannulata and Stropharia microaeruginosa . Phylogenetic analyses, based on the internal transcribed spacer regions ( ITS ) and the nuclear ribosomal RNA gene ( nrLSU ), suggest that the two new species are distinct and monophyletic. S. subrugosoannulata is distinguished from other species of the genus Stropharia by the pileus covered with greyish-orange squamules in the centre, stipe light brown and surface covered with white triangular squamules. S. microaeruginosa differs from other species in its pileus bluish-grey when young becoming lighter towards margins, later greyish-turquoise lightens towards the edges and surface radially striate when young, lamellae adnate to subdecurrent, stipe with white squamules at the base, acanthocytes absent. The new record species from Jilin Province, Clitolyophyllum umbilicatum was also confirmed, based on morphological and molecular study. Here, we have given full descriptions of each species, colour images, illustrations and two phylogenetic trees that show the placement and relationship of the two new species and the new record are provided.

Abstract:Three new records of Phyllachora from China are reported.They are Phyllachora centothecae on Centotheca lappacea,Phyllachora coorgiana on Coix lachryma-jobi,and Phyllachora digitariicola on Digitaria sanguinalis.Specimens studied were collected from Jiangxi,Anhui,Hainan,Shaanxi and Yunnan provinces.Descriptions and illustrations of the species are given based on Chinese specimens.The specimens are deposited in Mycological Herbarium of the Northwest Agriculture & Forestry University (HMUABO) and Mycological Herbarium of the Yunnan Agricultural University (MHYAU),China.

Abstract:A total of 74 isolates of hyphomycetes belonging to 20 species in 18 genera were obtained from 19 sediment samples in southern Yellow Sea, except for 22 isolates of unidentified Penicillium. Among them, Devriesia is a newly recorded genus for China, and Devriesia pseudoamericana and Scedosporium dehoogii are new records. Descriptions and illustrations of the new records are given based on Chinese isolates and the other 18 previously reported species are also listed. Living cultures of all fungi studied have been deposited in the Herbarium of Ocean University of China Marine Biology (OUCMB).

Abstract:Pluteus umbrosoides and P. chrysaegis are reported as new records from China based on morphological observation and molecular evidence. Pluteus umbrosoides is characterized by a brown to dark brown squamulose pileus lacking an appendiculate pileus margin, a nearly glabrous stipe, ellipsoid basidiospores, predominantly capitate pleurocystidia, and a trichohymeniderm pileipellis. Pluteus chrysaegis is distinguished by its bright yellow pileus, subglobose to globose basidiospores, lageniform to fusoid cheilocystidia with long apical appendages, and abundant fusoid pleurocystidia. Morphologically and phylogenetically both species are members of P. section Hispidoderma. Morphological descriptions, illustrations, and line drawings of Chinese collections of the two species are provided.

Abstract:The rotting wood in freshwater is a unique eco-environment favoring various fungi. During our investigation of freshwater fungi on decaying wood, three hyphomycetes were collected from Jiangxi and Guangxi Provinces, China. Based on the morphological observations and phylogenetic analysis of a combined DNA data containing ITS, LSU, SSU and tef1-α sequences, two new Trichobotrys species, T. meilingensis and T. yunjushanensis , as well as a new record of T. effusa , were introduced. Additionally, a comprehensive description of the genus with both morphological and molecular data was first provided.

Abstract:During our investigation of saprophytic fungi in Guizhou and Hainan provinces, China, three hyphomycetes were collected from terrestrial and freshwater habitats. Based on morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analyses of combined ITS , LSU , tef 1-α, and rpb 2 sequence data, two new species are introduced: Distoseptispora hainanensis and D. lanceolatispora . Additionally, one known species, D. tectonae , previously unreported from Edgeworthia chrysantha , is newly reported. Detailed descriptions, illustrations, and a phylogenetic tree to show the two new species and the new host record of Distoseptispora are provided. In addition, a checklist of Distoseptispora species with their locations, lifestyles, habitats, and hosts is provided.
