Abstract:With the proliferation of embedded ubiquitous systems in all aspects of human life, the embedded systems world has become a fast growing industry. Embedded systems have to rely on high quality hardware as well as high quality software. Software development for embedded systems is often a complex undertaking and fundamentally different from that of non-embedded systems. Complexity arises from the need to co-design and create software at low-level of abstraction that also interacts closely with hardware with strong emphasis on dependability and mission-critical real-time constraints. Compared to traditional software development, the increasing complexity also exacerbates challenges in embedded software development processes, such as troubles in achieving sufficient product quality and timely delivery. In order to tackle these challenges in embedded software development, industry needs to apply software engineering technologies that are appropriate for specific situations. The 2nd International Workshop on Software Engineering for Embedded Systems (SEES 2012) Workshop, in conjunction with International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2012) in Zurich, Switzerland, aims to provide researchers and practitioners an international forum to discuss the issues, challenges in adopting software engineering methods for embedded systems development. Further, the overall goal of the workshop is to identify the research opportunities and develop a research agenda to tackle the challenges. The workshop program committee selected nine papers from eighteen submissions for the workshop proceedings. They cover several interesting software-related aspects of embedded systems development, such as software-system architecture, development process, component- and model-based development, and automotive development. The diversity of topics and the decent number of submissions indicate what a vibrant community there is in the intersection of software engineering and embedded systems.- It encourages us to further discover and contribute to this growing community.

Abstract:The conference has involved a variety of topics focusing on Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing issues in computer systems.The recent research and improvement have brought a plurality of interests and insights to our picturesque meeting venue.We sincerely hope that all attendees and contributors of this conference can take advantage of this opportunity through all activities held by this event, from presentations to keynote lectures.Moreover, it is our great honor to introduce the program for the EUC 2019.We received over 133 research papers for this conference out of which 23 were accepted as full papers.The acceptance rate of EUC 2019 is 17.29%.We have put together a few tracks over the period of the conference.As a conference chair of EUC 2019, I know that the success of the conference depends ultimately on many people who have endeavored to the conference with us in planning and organizing both the technical programs and social arrangements.

Abstract:The 2012 International Symposium on Information Science and Engineering is co-sponsored by Shanghai Institute of Electronics,China; Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China; Fudan University, China; Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Russia; Feng Chia University, Taiwan; South China University of Technology, China; Henan Polytechnic University, China; Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, China; Nanchang Hang Kong University, China; Academy Publisher, Finland. This symposium is the 4th event starting from 2008. The goal of ISISE 2012 is to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, and government to exchange their research ideas and results, and to discuss the state of the art in the many areas of security for electronic commerce. The symposium received 218 paper submissions from 7 countries and regions; every paper was reviewed by 2 program committee members; 105 papers have been selected as regular papers, representing a 48% acceptance rate for regular papers. Abstract:On behalf of the organizing committee of UMES 2011, we would like to express our cordial welcome to all participants and offer them our greatest respect. The fast developments in the electronics industry and the emerging convergence of the triple (video, voice, and data) signal services have resulted in media communications and computing increasing ubiquitously. Meanwhile, the embedded systems, i.e., computers inside products, have been widely adopted in many domains including multimedia communications, traditional control systems, medical instruments, wired and wireless communication devices, aerospace equipment, human/computer interfaces, and sensor networks. These services create our consumer and brand environment and have contributed extensively and more intimately to our life experience, especially the applications in mobile and other embedded devices. With the increasing number of the customers who would like to own an ubiquitous multimedia service because of its convenience and utilization, the requirements for this kind of service, such as the quality, speed, and electric consumption, are increasing. Therefore, the UMES technologies have become state-of-the-art research topics and are expected to play an important role in human life in the future. UMES 2011 aims to advance ubiquitous multimedia techniques and embedded software and systems research, development, and design competence, and to enhance international communication and collaboration. The workshop covers traditional core areas of media and embedded systems in architecture, software, hardware, real-time computing, and testing and verification, as well as new areas of special emphasis: pervasive/ubiquitous computing and sensor networks, HW/SW, wireless communications, power-aware computing, security and data protection, and multimedia.
