Abstract:In this paper, a new exact solution of general Degasperis-Procesi (gDP) equation, a nonlinear equation in plasma, will be constructed by using PPA method, extended trigonometry and extended hyperbolic method. gDP equation is a good mathematical model for studying nonlinear shallow water wave propagation with small amplitude and long wavelength. This study will enrich the theory and connotation of plasma research by studying such nonlinear equation in plasma.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate positive solutions of the degenerate parabolic equation not in divergence form: ut=upΔu+auq−bur, subject to the null Dirichlet boundary condition. We at first discuss the existence and nonexistence of global solutions to the problem, and then study the large time behavior for the global solutions. When the positive source dominates the model, we prove that the global solutions uniformly tend to the positive steady state of the problem as t→∞. In particular, we establish the uniform asymptotic profiles for the decay solutions when the problem is governed by the nonlinear diffusion or absorption.

Abstract:The existence of a solution to the parabolic system with the fractional Laplacian (−Δ) α /2 , α > 0 is proven, this solution decays at different rates along different time sequences going to infinity. As an application, the existence of a solution to the generalized Navier-Stokes equations is proven, which decays at different rates along different time sequences going to infinity. The generalized Navier-Stokes equations are the equations resulting from replacing −Δ in the Navier-Stokes equations by (−Δ) m , m > 0. At last, a similar result for 3-D incompressible anisotropic Navier-Stokes system is obtained.
The Cauchy problem for the Degasperis-Procesi Equation: Painlevé Asymptotics in Transition Zones

Abstract:The Degasperis-Procesi (DP) equation \begin{align} &u_t-u_{txx}+3\kappa u_x+4uu_x=3u_x u_{xx}+uu_{xxx}, \nonumber \end{align} serving as an asymptotic approximation for the unidirectional propagation of shallow water waves, is an integrable model of the Camassa-Holm type and admits a $3\times3$ matrix Lax pair. In our previous work, we obtained the long-time asymptotics of the solution $u(x,t)$ to the Cauchy problem for the DP equation in the solitonic region $\{(x,t): \xi>3 \} \cup \{(x,t): \xi<-\frac{3}{8} \}$ and the solitonless region $\{(x,t): -\frac{3}{8}<\xi< 0 \} \cup \{(x,t): 0\leq \xi <3 \}$ where $\xi:=\frac{x}{t}$. In this paper, we derive the leading order approximation to the solution $u(x,t)$ in terms of the solution for the Painlevé \uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral2} equation in two transition zones $\left|\xi+\frac{3}{8}\right|t^{2/3}<C$ and $\left|\xi -3\right|t^{2/3}<C$ with $C>0$ lying between the solitonic region and solitonless region. Our results are established by performing the $\bar \partial$-generalization of the Deift-Zhou nonlinear steepest descent method and applying a double scaling limit technique to an associated vector Riemann-Hilbert problem.

Abstract:The Gerdjikov–Ivanov equation is decomposed into two systems of solvable ordinary differential equations. A hyperelliptic Riemann surface and Abel–Jacobi coordinates are introduced to straighten the associated flow, from which the algebro-geometric solutions of the Gerdjikov–Ivanov equation are constructed in terms of the Riemann theta functions.

Abstract:The Degasperis-Procesi (DP) equation is a completely integrable system and admits a $3\times3$ matrix Lax pair. In this paper, we address a complete result on the long-time asymptotics for the DP equation in the whole upper half-plane $(x,t)\in \mathbb{R}\times \mathbb{R}^+$. Using the $\bar \partial$-generalization of the Deift-Zhou nonlinear steepest descent method and a double limit technique, we derive the leading order approximation to the solution $u(x,t)$ of the DP equation for large times in the following three types of space-time regions. I. Solitonic region: $\xi:=x/t >3$ and $\xi<-\frac{3}{2}$. The asymptotic expansion to the solution $u(x,t)$ is described in the form of a finite sum of single solitons with different velocities and a residual error of order $\mathcal{O}(t^{-1+\rho})$ with $0<\rho<\frac{1}{4}$. This result is a verification of the soliton resolution conjecture and asymptotic stability of $N$-soliton solutions for the DP equation. II. Solitonless region: $-\frac{3}{2}<\xi<-\frac{3}{8}$ and $-\frac{3}{8}<\xi<3$.The leading order term of this asymptotic expansion to the solution $u(x,t)$ is soliton-radiation interactions with a residual error of order $\mathcal{O}(t^{-3/4})$ from the contribution of a $\overline\partial$-equation. III. Transition regions. III-1: $|\xi+\frac{3}{8}|t^{2/3}<C$ and III-2: $|\xi-3|t^{2/3}<C$. For the Painlevé region III-1: the leading order terms of this asymptotic expansion to the solution $u(x,t)$ is in terms of the solution of the Painlevé II and a residual error of order $\mathcal{O}(t^{-2/3+2\delta_1})$ with $\frac{1}{9}<\delta_1<\frac{1}{6}$; For the Airy region III-2, we show that the leading order term of the asymptotic expansion to the solution $u(x,t)$ is instead described by the Airy function and a residual error of order $\mathcal{O}(t^{-1/3-3\delta_2 })$ with $\frac{1}{12}<\delta_2<\frac{1}{9}$.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the long time asymptotic behavior to the Cauchy problem of the Degasperis-Procesi (DP) equation with $3\times3$ matrix Lax pair \begin{align} &u_t-u_{txx}+3\kappa u_x+4uu_x=3u_x u_{xx}+uu_{xxx}, \nonumber &u(x,0)=u_{0}(x),\nonumber \end{align} where $\kappa$ is a positive parameter. It is shown that the solution of the Cauchy problem can be characterized via a $3\times3$ matrix Riemann-Hilbert (RH) problem in a new scale $(y,t)$. We divide the upper half-plane $(y,t)\in \mathbb{R}\times \mathbb{R}^+$ into three kinds of space-time regions: I. solitonic regions $\xi <-3/8,$ and $ \xi>3$, II. solitonless region $ -3/8<\xi< 3$ and III. transition regions $\xi \approx -3/8$ and $ \xi\approx 3$.With $\overline\partial$ steepest descent analysis and double limit technique, we obtain a complete long-time asymptotics for the solution $u(x,t)$ in three different space-time regions. The corresponding residual error functions come from singularities and a $\overline\partial$-equation respectively. Our first asymptotic result from soliton region I is characterized with a sum of single solitons with different velocity. This is a verification of soliton resolution conjecture for DP equation. Our second asymptotic result from the solitonless region II is characterized with parabolic cylinder function. Our third asymptotic result from the transition region III can be expressed in terms of the Painlev\'{e} II equation.

Abstract:We employ the bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems to investigate the exact travelling wave solutions of a generalized Degasperis-Procesi equation. The implicit expression of smooth soliton solutions is given. The explicit expressions of peaked soliton solutions and periodic cuspon solutions are also obtained. Further, we show the relationship among the smooth soliton solutions, the peaked soliton solutions, and the periodic cuspon solutions. The physical relevance of the found solutions and the reasonwhy these solutions can exist in this equation are also given.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a new adaptation of the D-iteration algorithm to numerically solve the differential equations. This problem can be reinterpreted in 2D or 3D (or higher dimensions) as a limit of a diffusion process where the boundary or initial conditions are replaced by fluid catalysts. It has been shown that pre-computing the diffusion process for an elementary catalyst case as a fundamental block of a class of differential equations, the computation efficiency can be greatly improved. Here, we explain how the diffusion point of view can be applied to decompose the fluid diffusion process per direction and how to handle non-symmetric discrete equations. The method can be applied on the class of problems that can be addressed by the Gauss-Seidel iteration, based on the linear approximation of the differential equations.

In this manuscript, we study the soliton resolution and large time behavior of solutions to the Cauchy problem of the DP equation with generic initial data in Schwarz space. Employing the ∂̅-generalization of the Deift-Zhou nonlinear steepest descent method, we deduce different long time asymptotic expansions of the solution u(x,t) in two distinct types of space-time regions. This result verifies the soliton resolution conjecture and asymptotic stability of N-soliton solutions for the DP equation.

Abstract:This article is concerned with the existence of solution to the stochastic Degasperis-Procesi equation on $\mathbb{R}$ with an infinite dimensional multiplicative noise and integrable initial data. Writing the equation as a system composed of a stochastic nonlinear conservation law and an elliptic equation, we are able to develop a method based on the conjugation of kinetic theory with stochastic compactness arguments. More precisely, we first apply the stochastic Jakubowski-Skorokhod representation theorem to show the existence of a weak kinetic martingale solution. Next, we prove the pathwise uniqueness and invoke the Yamada-Watanabe-Engelbert theorem to conclude that the solution is strong in the probabilistic sense. In this framework, the solution is a stochastic process with sample paths in Lebesgue spaces, which are compatible with peakons and wave breaking physical phenomenon.

Abstract:We find all polynomials $Z(z)$ such that the differential equation $${X(z)\frac{d^2}{dz^2}+Y(z)\frac{d}{dz}+Z(z)}S(z)=0,$$ where $X(z), Y(z), Z(z)$ are polynomials of degree at most 4, 3, 2 respectively, has polynomial solutions $S(z)=\prod_{i=1}^n(z-z_i)$ of degree $n$ with distinct roots $z_i$. We derive a set of $n$ algebraic equations which determine these roots. We also find all polynomials $Z(z)$ which give polynomial solutions to the differential equation when the coefficients of X(z) and Y(z) are algebraically dependent. As applications to our general results, we obtain the exact (closed-form) solutions of the Schrödinger type differential equations describing: 1) Two Coulombically repelling electrons on a sphere; 2) Schrödinger equation from kink stability analysis of $\phi^6$-type field theory; 3) Static perturbations for the non-extremal Reissner-Nordström solution; 4) Planar Dirac electron in Coulomb and magnetic fields; and 5) O(N) invariant decatic anharmonic oscillator.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with global existence and blow-up phenomena for two-component Degasperis-Procesi system and two-component b-family system. The strategy relies on our observation on new conservative quantities of these systems. Several new global existence results and a new blowup result of strong solutions to the two-component Degasperis- Procesi system and the two-component b-family system are presented by using these new conservative quantities.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the discrete fractional Schrödinger equation $$ (-\Delta)^\alpha u+h(x) u=f(x,u),\quad x\in \mathbb{Z}^d,$$ where $d\in\mathbb{N}^*,\,\alpha \in(0, 1)$ and the nonlocal operator $(-\Delta)^\alpha $ is defined by discrete Fourier transform, which differs from the continuous case. Under suitable assumptions on $h$ and $f$, we prove the existence and multiplicity of solutions to this equation by variational method.

Abstract:Transport phenomena play a vital role in various fields of science and engineering. In this work, exact solutions are derived for advection equations with integer- and fractional-order time derivatives and a constant time-delay in the spatial derivative. Solutions are obtained, for arbitrary separable initial conditions, by incorporating recently introduced delay functions in a separation of variables approach. Examples are provided showing oscillatory and translatory behaviours that are fundamentally different to standard propagating wave solutions.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a new invariant setΩ={u(x,t)∈C∞|DxH(x,u)=0}(Hu≠0), where H is a smooth function of x and u to be determined. The invariant sets and exact solutions to nonlinear diffusion equation ut=(A(u)ux)x+Q(x,u)ux+P(x,u), are discussed. The forms of A(u), Q(x,u) and P(x,u) which leads to invariant solutions are determined. It is shown that there exist several classes of solutions to the equation that belong to the invariant set Ω. Another new invariant set is described, it is used to some nonlinear evolution equations.
