Comparative Study on Fruit Quality of Different Strawberry Varieties

Abstract:The fruit appearance quality and fruit nutrient content of five strawberry varieties(Fengxiang,Mingbao,Xuemi,Hongjia and Zhangji) cultivated in trellis were analyzed and studied.The experimental results showed that Hongjia and Zhangji had big fruit,the average weight of their single-fruit was 21.25 g and 21.97 g respectively,their fruit had beautiful appearance,rich luster,proper sweet and sour taste,thick aroma,good mouth-feel,moderate hardness,excellent quality and good ability for storage and transportation.These two strawberry varieties were better in the economic traits of fruit than other three varieties,and they are ideal high-quality and big-fruit type strawberry varieties suitable for being cultivated in the greenhouse at present.There was no significant difference in fruit nutrition ingredient between Xuemi and Fengxiang,while the fruit hardness of Xuemi was lower than that(4.00 Pa/cm2) of Fengxiang,so the former had worse fruit transportation ability than the latter.The fruit of Mingbao was of salmon-pink,it had strong shine,thick aroma,moderate sweet and sour taste,and the average weight of its single-fruit was 19.32 g.Mingbao had middle content of soluble solids,protein,sugar,acid and vitamin C in the fruit and the lowest fruit hardness(2.53 Pa/cm2) among five varieties.
