Abstract:To evaluate the impact of the time-dependent factors such as renewable power and user loads on the distributed energy systems, we should focus on dynamic behavior and operation of the distributed energy systems in a shorter time-scale. In this chapter, we will give an introduction to a self-developed dynamic simulation platform. This platform includes a dynamic semiphysical model library, enabling to integrate a number of energy conversion devices and other auxiliary components described by the physical model or semiphysical model with the validation of the experimental data. We will give a brief review on the methodologies for these component models. Using this dynamic simulation platform, we propose a distributed hybrid system (DHS) with high-capacity wind power integration, and analyze its dynamic behavior and operating strategies. According to the essential characteristic of power balance between supply and demand, a novel indicator, named mutual information, is applicable for evaluating power supply-demand match and detecting optimal capacities of energy devices in DHSs.
