Abstract:The construction of soft noncommutative schemes via toric geometry in arXiv:2108.05328 [math.AG] (D(15.1), NCS(1)) can be generalized and applied to a commutative scheme with a distinguished atlas of reasonably good affine local coordinate charts. In the current notes we carry out this exercise for flag varieties.

Abstract: A class of noncommutative spaces, named `soft noncommutative schemes via toric geometry', are constructed and the mathematical model for (dynamical/nonsolitonic, complex algebraic) D-branes on such a noncommutative space, following arXiv:0709.1515 [math.AG] (D(1)), is given. Any algebraic Calabi-Yau space that arises from a complete intersection in a smooth toric variety can embed as a commutative closed subscheme of some soft noncommutative scheme. Along the study, the notion of `soft noncommutative toric schemes' associated to a (simplicial, maximal cone of index $1$) fan, `invertible sheaves' on such a noncommutative space, and `twisted sections' of an invertible sheaf are developed and Azumaya schemes with a fundamental module as the world-volumes of D-branes are reviewed. Two guiding questions, Question 3.12 (soft noncommutative Calabi-Yau spaces and their mirror) and Question 4.2.14 (generalized matrix models), are presented.
A flag version of Beilinson-Drinfeld Grassmannian for surfaces

Abstract:In this paper we define and study a generalization of the Belinson-Drinfeld Grassmannian to the case where the curve is replaced by a smooth projective surface $X$, and the trivialization data are given on loci suitably associated to a nonlinear flag of closed subschemes. In order to do this, we first establish some general formal gluing results for moduli of almost perfect complexes, perfect complexes and torsors. We then construct a simplicial object $Fl_X$ of flags of closed subschemes of a smooth projective surface $X$, naturally associated to the operation of taking union of flags. We prove that this simplicial object has the 2-Segal property. For an affine complex algebraic group $G$, we finally define a derived, flag analog $Gr_X$ of the Beilinson-Drinfeld Grassmannian of $G$-bundles on the surface $X$, and show that most of the properties of the Beilinson-Drinfeld Grassmannian for curves can be extended to our flag generalization. In particular, we prove a factorization formula, the existence of a canonical flat connection, and define a chiral product on suitable sheaves on $Fl_X$ and on $Gr_X$. We also sketch the construction of actions of flags analogs of the loop group and of the positive loop group on $Gr_X$. To fixed ``large'' flags on $X$, we associate ``exotic'' derived structures on the classical stack of $G$-bundles on $X$. Analogs of the flag Grassmannian for other Perf-local stacks (replacing the stack of $G$-bundles) are briefly considered, and flag factorization is proved for them, too.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish a scheme-theoretic analog of the works of Matsuki and Richardson--Springer on the symmetric subgroup orbit decomposition of the flag variety under a certain assumption that asserts local constancy of their combinatorial description of the classification of orbits at geometric points (the local constancy hypothesis). We also prove that scheme-theoretic models of orbits are affinely imbedded into the flag scheme under the same assumption (Beilinson--Bernstein's affinity theorem). Finally, we compute some classical examples to give scheme-theoretic consequences of the geometric point free and descent phenomena of orbit decompositions.

Abstract:Let $\Sigma$ be a fan inside the lattice $\mathbb{Z}^n$, and $\mathcal{E}:\mathbb{Z}^n \rightarrow \operatorname{Pic}{S}$ be a map of abelian groups. We introduce the notion of a principal toric fibration $\mathcal{X}_{\Sigma, \mathcal{E}}$ over the base scheme $S$, relativizing the usual toric construction for $\Sigma$. We show that the category of ind-coherent sheaves on such a fibration is equivalent to the global section of the Kashiwara-Schapira stack twisted by a certain local system of categories with stalk $\operatorname{Ind}\operatorname{Coh} S$. It is a simultaneous generalization of the work of Harder-Katzarkov [HK19] and of Kuwagaki [Kuw20], and should be seen as a family-version of the coherent-constructible correspondence [FLTZ11].

Moduli Spaces of Hyperplanar Admissible Flags in Projective Space

Abstract:We prove the existence of quasi-projective coarse moduli spaces parametrising certain complete flags of subschemes of a fixed projective space $\mathbb{P}(V)$ up to projective automorphisms. The flags of subschemes being parametrised are obtained by intersecting non-degenerate subvarieties of $\mathbb{P}(V)$ of dimension $n$ by flags of linear subspaces of $\mathbb{P}(V)$ of length $n$, with each positive dimension component of the flags being required to be non-singular and non-degenerate, and with the dimension $0$ components being required to satisfy a Chow stability condition. These moduli spaces are constructed using non-reductive Geometric Invariant Theory for actions of groups whose unipotent radical is graded, making use of a non-reductive analogue of quotienting-in-stages developed by Hoskins and Jackson.

Abstract:We introduce a compact moduli scheme of marked noncommutative cubic surfaces as the GIT moduli scheme of relations of a quiver associated with a full strong exceptional collection on a cubic surface. It is a toric variety containing the configuration space of six points on a plane in general position as a locally closed subvariety, and birationally parametrizes a class of AS-regular $\mathbb{Z}$-algebras.

Abstract:We construct a smooth projective algebraic variety $X_{\Psi}$ that compactifies an equivariant vector subbundle of the cotangent bundle of the flag variety of $\mathop{GL} ( n )$ (corresponding to a root ideal $\Psi$). The variety $X_\Psi$ carries natural class of line bundles whose spaces of global sections realize the Catalan functions defined in Chen-Haiman [thesis, UCBerkeley] and studied in Blasiak-Morse-Pun-Summers [J. Amer. Math. Soc. (2019), Invent. Math. (2024)]. We prove the vanishing conjectures of Chen-Haiman and (the tame cases of these of) Blasiak-Morse-Pun, as well as the monotonicity conjectures of Shimozono-Weyman [Electronic J. Combin. (2000)] using the geometry of $X_\Psi$.

Noncommutative Motives I: A Universal Characterization of the Motivic Stable Homotopy Theory of Schemes

Abstract:Let $\V$ be a symmetric monoidal model category and let $X$ be an object in $\V$. From this we can construct a new symmetric monoidal model category $Sp^{\Sigma}(\V,X)$ of symmetric spectra objects in $\V$ with respect to $X$, together with a left Quillen monoidal map $\V\to Sp^{\Sigma}(\V,X)$ sending $X$ to an invertible object. In this paper we use the recent developments in the subject of Higher Algebra to understand the nature of this construction. Every symmetric monoidal model category has an underlying symmetric monoidal $(\infty,1)$-category and the first notion should be understood as a mere "presentation" of the second. Our main result is the characterization of the underlying symmetric monoidal $\infty$-category of $Sp^{\Sigma}(\V,X)$, by means of a universal property inside the world of symmetric monoidal $(\infty,1)$-categories. In the process we also describe the link between the construction of ordinary spectra and the one of symmetric spectra. As a corollary, we obtain a precise universal characterization for the motivic stable homotopy theory of schemes with its symmetric monoidal structure. This characterization trivializes the problem of finding motivic monoidal realizations and opens the way to compare the motivic theory of schemes with other motivic theories. As an application we provide a new approach to the theory of noncommutative motives by constructing a stable motivic homotopy theory for the noncommutative spaces of Kontsevich. For that we introduce an analogue for the Nisnevich topology in the noncommutative setting. Our universal property for the classical theory for schemes provides a canonical monoidal map towards these new noncommutative motives and allows us to compare the two theories.

$T$-equivariant motives of flag varieties

Abstract:We use the construction of the stable homotopy category by Khan-Ravi to calculate the integral $T$-equivariant $K$-theory spectrum of a flag variety over an affine scheme, where $T$ is a split torus associated to the flag variety. More precisely, we show that the $T$-equivariant $K$-theory ring spectrum of a flag variety is decomposed into a direct sum of $K$-theory spectra of the classifying stack $\text{B}T$ indexed by the associated Weyl group. We also explain how to relate these results to the motivic world and deduce classical results for $T$-equivariant intersection theory and $K$-theory of flag varieties.\par For this purpose, we analyze the motive of schemes stratified by affine spaces with group action, that preserves these stratifications. We work with cohomology theories, that satisfy certain vanishing conditions, which are satisfied for example by motivic cohomology and $K$-Theory.

Abstract:Given a smooth projective toric variety $X_\Sigma$ of complex dimension $n$, Fang-Liu-Treumann-Zaslow \cite{FLTZ} showed that there is a quasi-embedding of the differential graded (dg) derived category of coherent sheaves $Coh(X_\Sigma)$ into the dg derived category of constructible sheaves on a torus $Sh(T^n, \Lambda_\Sigma)$. Recently, Kuwagaki \cite{Ku2} proved that the quasi-embedding is a quasi-equivalence, and generalized the result to toric stacks. Here we give a different proof in the smooth projective case, using non-characteristic deformation of sheaves to find twisted polytope sheaves that co-represent the stalk functors.

Abstract:Abstract We exhibit basic algebro-geometric results on the formal model of semi-infinite flag varieties and its Schubert varieties over an algebraically closed field ${\mathbb K}$ of characteristic $\neq 2$ from scratch. We show that the formal model of a semi-infinite flag variety admits a unique nice (ind-)scheme structure, its projective coordinate ring has a $\mathbb {Z}$ -model and it admits a Frobenius splitting compatible with the boundaries and opposite cells in positive characteristic. This establishes the normality of the Schubert varieties of the quasi-map space with a fixed degree (instead of their limits proved in [K, Math. Ann. 371 no.2 (2018)]) when $\mathsf {char}\, {\mathbb K} =0$ or $\gg 0$ , and the higher-cohomology vanishing of their nef line bundles in arbitrary characteristic $\neq 2$ . Some particular cases of these results play crucial roles in our proof [47] of a conjecture by Lam, Li, Mihalcea and Shimozono [60] that describes an isomorphism between affine and quantum K -groups of a flag manifold.

Abstract:This paper is a direct generalization of Baker-Bowler theory to flag matroids, including its moduli interpretation as developed by Baker and the second author for matroids. More explicitly, we extend the notion of flag matroids to flag matroids over any tract, provide cryptomorphic descriptions in terms of basis axioms (Grassmann-Plücker functions), circuit/vector axioms and dual pairs, including additional characterizations in the case of perfect tracts. We establish duality of flag matroids and construct minors. Based on the theory of ordered blue schemes, we introduce flag matroid bundles and construct their moduli space, which leads to algebro-geometric descriptions of duality and minors. Taking rational points recovers flag varieties in several geometric contexts: over (topological) fields, in tropical geometry, and as a generalization of the MacPhersonian.

Abstract:In this article we further the study of noncommutative numerical motives. By exploring the change-of-coefficients mechanism, we start by improving some of our previous main results. Then, making use of the notion of Schur-finiteness, we prove that the category NNum(k)_F of noncommutative numerical motives is (neutral) super-Tannakian. As in the commutative world, NNum(k)_F is not Tannakian. In order to solve this problem we promote periodic cyclic homology to a well-defined symmetric monoidal functor HP on the category of noncommutative Chow motives. This allows us to introduce the correct noncommutative analogues C_NC and D_NC of Grothendieck's standard conjectures C and D. Assuming C_NC, we prove that NNum(k)_F can be made into a Tannakian category NNum'(k)_F by modifying its symmetry isomorphism constraints. By further assuming D_NC, we neutralize the Tannakian category NNum'(k)_F using HP. Via the (super-)Tannakian formalism, we then obtain well-defined noncommutative motivic (super-)Galois groups. Finally, making use of Deligne-Milne's theory of Tate triples, we construct explicit homomorphisms relating these new noncommutative motivic (super-)Galois groups with the classical ones.

Abstract:We prove a theorem relating torus-equivariant coherent sheaves on toric varieties to polyhedrally-constructible sheaves on a vector space. At the level of K-theory, the theorem recovers Morelli’s description of the K-theory of a smooth projective toric variety (Morelli in Adv. Math. 100(2):154–182, 1993). Specifically, let X be a proper toric variety of dimension n and let $M_{\mathbb{R}} = \mathrm{Lie}(T_{\mathbb{R}}^{\vee})\cong\mathbb {R}^{n}$ be the Lie algebra of the compact dual (real) torus $T_{\mathbb{R}}^{\vee}\cong U(1)^{n}$. Then there is a corresponding conical Lagrangian Λ⊂T ∗ M ℝ and an equivalence of triangulated dg categories $\mathcal{P}\mathrm{erf}_{T}(X) \cong\mathit{Sh}_{cc}(M_{\mathbb{R}};\Lambda)$, where $\mathcal{P}\mathrm{erf}_{T}(X)$ is the triangulated dg category of perfect complexes of torus-equivariant coherent sheaves on X and Sh cc (M ℝ;Λ) is the triangulated dg category of complex of sheaves on M ℝ with compactly supported, constructible cohomology whose singular support lies in Λ. This equivalence is monoidal—it intertwines the tensor product of coherent sheaves on X with the convolution product of constructible sheaves on M ℝ.

Abstract:Let $C$ be a smooth projective curve, $E$ a locally free sheaf. Hyperquot schemes on $C$ parametrise flags of coherent quotients of $E$ with fixed Hilbert polynomial, and offer alternative compactifications to the spaces of maps from $C$ to partial flag varieties. Motivated by enumerative geometry, in this paper we construct a perfect obstruction theory (and hence a virtual class and a virtual structure sheaf) on these moduli spaces, which we use to provide criteria for smoothness and unobstructedness. Under these assumptions, we determine their motivic partition function in the Grothendieck ring of varieties, in terms of the motivic zeta function of $C$.

On congruent isomorphisms for tori

Abstract:Let $F$ and $F'$ be two $l$-close nonarchimedean local fields, where $l$ is a positive integer, and let $\mathrm{T}$ and $\mathrm{T}'$ be two tori over $F$ and $F'$, respectively, such that their cocharacter lattices can be identified as modules over the ''at most $l$-ramified'' absolute Galois group $\Gamma_F/I_F^l \cong\Gamma_{F'}/I_{F'}^l$. In the spirit of the work of Kazhdan and Ganapathy, for every positive integer $m$ relative to which $l$ is large, we construct a congruent isomorphism $\mathrm{T}(F)/\mathrm{T}(F)_m\cong\mathrm{T}'(F')/\mathrm{T}'(F')_m$, where $\mathrm{T}(F)_m$ and $\mathrm{T}(F')_m$ are the minimal congruent filtration subgroups of $\mathrm{T}(F)$ and $\mathrm{T}(F')$, respectively, defined by J.-K.~Yu. We prove that this isomorphism is functorial and compatible with both the isomorphism constructed by Chai and Yu and the Kottwitz homomorphism for tori. We show that, when $l$ is even larger relative to $m$, it moreover respects the local Langlands correspondence for tori.

Abstract:The goal of this paper is to clarify the connection between certain structures from the theory of totally nonnegative Grassmannians, quiver Grassmannians for cyclic quivers and the theory of local models of Shimura varieties. More precisely, we generalize the construction from our previous paper relating the combinatorics and geometry of quiver Grassmannians to that of the totally nonnegative Grassmannians. The varieties we are interested in serve as realizations of local models of Shimura varieties. We exploit quiver representation techniques to study the quiver Grassmannians of interest and, in particular, to describe explicitly embeddings into affine flag varieties which allow us to realize our quiver Grassmannians as a union of Schubert varieties therein.

Abstract:The Hecke algebras and quantum group of affine type A admit geometric realizations in terms of complete flags and partial flags over a local field, respectively. Subsequently, it is demonstrated that the quantum group associated to partial flag varieties of affine type C is a coideal subalgebra of quantum group of affine type A. In this paper, we establish a lattice presentation of the complete (partial) flag varieties of affine type D. Additionally, we determine the structures of convolution algebra associated to complete flag varieties of affine type D, which is isomorphic to the (extended) affine Hecke algebra. We also show that there exists a monomial basis and a canonical basis of the convolution algebra, and establish the positivity properties of the canonical basis with respect to multiplication.
