Abstract:This paper proposes a real-time radar signal detection method based on RFSoC and parallel Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) architecture, suitable for electronic warfare (EW) applications in electronic reconnaissance aircraft. The proposed method utilizes high-speed Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADC) and high-performance heterogeneous processing units integrated in RFSoC, combined with parallel FFT algorithm, to optimize the radar signal detection architecture. It improves the time-accuracy trade-off in large point FFT processing, enabling the electronic reconnaissance aircraft to detect radar signals containing any number of carriers with instantaneous bandwidth of 2 GHz and frequency resolution of 1 MHz in 3 us. Both Matlab simulation and real-world experimental results are presented to validate the rationality and reliability of the design, providing a reference for the design of modern high-performance electronic reconnaissance aircraft.

Abstract:This paper introduces FPGA implementation of high-speed data acquisition system for high-resolution millimeter wave radar. The transfer bandwidth of the Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) interface of the high-speed data acquisition system is 7200Mbps, which supports the cascade of four millimeter-wave radar sensors. The maximum transfer bandwidth of the DDR3 interface in the system is 12800Mbps, which is able to support high-bandwidth sample data storage of twelve millimeter-wave radar sensors. The maximum transfer bandwidth of Gigabit Ethernet interface in the system is 1000Mbps, which can adjust the transfer rate according to the system requirements, with good scalability. By using the high-speed data acquisition system designed in the article for the cascade of four high resolution 77GHz FMCW millimeter wave radar sensors, the system can achieve imaging with angular resolution close to 1.3 degrees.

Abstract:In this paper, a single-chip based design for an automotive 4D millimeter -wave radar is proposed. Compared to conventional 3D millimeter-wave radar, this innovative scheme features a MIMO antenna array and advanced waveform design, significantly enhancing the radar's elevation measurement capabilities. The maximum measurement error is approximately ±0.3° for azimuth within ±50° and about ±0.4° for elevation within ±15°. Extensive road testing had demonstrated that the designed radar can routinely measure targets such as vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles, while also accurately detecting additional objects like overpasses and guide signs. The cost of this radar is comparable to that of traditional automotive 3D millimeter-wave radar, and it has been successfully integrated into a forward radar system for a specific vehicle model.

Abstract:Based on the characteristics of radar signal processing, this paper presents a new dataflow driven mechanism for high speed radar signal processing. This mechanism has been successfully applied in an experimental system (DSM), which is a general parallel software radar signal processing computer. For implementing this mechanism, the generation of dataflow tables during the compiling process is studied in detail with a sample program.

Abstract:A general radar signal simulation,acquisition and processing system based on FPGA is designed and implemented.The system is composed of a microcomputer and a signal processing card with two A/D channels and two D/A channels.The signal processing card uses FPGA as kernel chip to control and process the radar signal,and uses USB2.0 interface to communicate with computer.The system uses data selection,coordinate inquiry-list mapping and DirectDraw technique to implement real-time PPI display and A-scope display on microcomputer monitor.The system has the capability of on-line configuration without special chip for configuration,which simplifies the design of circuit board and improves the flexibility of the system.

Abstract:A DSP-based airborne radar universal parallel signal processing system (AUPSPS) is raised to fulfil the universal tasks of high-speed real-time signal processing in airborne radar. This system uses DSP chips as the kernel processor nodes. By means of the private data storage for each node and the pipeline data-flow, it can perform absolutely parallel data processing of multi nodes. This parallel signal processing system has excellent flexibility, universal usage, great throughput, high efficiency of parallel processing, simple structure, small amount of hardware cost and easiness in developing. It can be applied to perform kinds of high-speed real-time signal processing algorithms in airborne or other radars.

Abstract:The flexibility of conventional radar signal processing systems is highly limited because they are designed for their specific applications. For this problem, a general-purpose highspeed radar signal processing system based on parallel computer architecture may be a hopeful solution. One of the key components in such a system is the processing node which is chiefly responsible for the computation-intensive tasks. In this paper, a new multi-DSP parallel computing architecture including 5 ADSP-2106x chips is first presented. This architecture has many promising characteristics such as strong computational capability, broad I/O bandwidth, various communicating methods, topology flexibility, and good scalability. Then, using this architecture as the hardware core, a scheme of the processing node is developed.

Abstract:This paper presents a systematic integration and circuits design scheme of X-band Doppler radar for short-range use purpose. With the help of powerful microwave design tool ADS, the authors designed a complete CW Doppler radar transceiver and made a test for verification. Firstly, we establish a system model by conventional radar equation. Secondly, design the schematics of main modules including an oscillator, a mixer, and antennas. Finally, perform system integration using the designed circuits diagrams and parameters. The performance is found fairly satisfactory by test verification.

Abstract:A system design of a Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) based radar signal generator is presented. The DDS technique has its inherent disadvantage in noise and spurious suppression, due to the all-digital structure. To overcome these disadvantages, we apply two efiective methods of a 3-order low-pass Butterworth fllter and the pre-distortion technique to greatly enhance the system performance. Microwave Remote Sensing (MRS) has become a targeted area of intensive research for its great application in diverse situations. Early MRS radar signal generators are analog devices with high- cost, short life, low reliability and low precision. At present, due to the advance of high-speed Very Large Scale Integrated Circuit (VLSI), the technique of Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) is being widely used to synthesize complex waveforms for applications in MRS. DDS makes it easy to precisely control and adjust the frequency, amplitude and phase of the required Chirp signals that are widely used in MRS. However, DDS technique has its inherent disadvantages in noise and spurious suppression, due to its all-digital structure. This paper presents a system design of a DDS signal generator for MRS. Besides, we put forward two methods to improve the spectrum purity. The flrst one is to design a low-pass fllter to improve the SNR, and the second one is to employ the pre-distortion method to make spectrum within band much ∞atter.

Abstract:Traditional radar has been unable to meet the growing application requirements,due to coupled hardware and software, simple functions, long research period.The software radar, which is standardized, general and flexible, has become the development trend of modern radar.In this paper, a general signal processing software was designed for real-time signal processor based on the MPC8640D.Hierarchical architecture design and the middleware makes the software portable, scalable and decoupled with the signal processor.Combining with RadarLab2.0 development platform and automatic code generation technology, the software can automatically generate codes of any signal processing routines.Finally, the effectiveness of the software were verified by building a test system.

Abstract:Under the background of developing a certain model of Digital Array Radar(DAR) processor, this study analyzed and summarized the implementation of parallel DAR algorithms based on a distributed multi-Digital Signal Processor(DSP) platform.The strategy of multi-channel parallelizing and pipelining inside single channel was proposed to overcome the multi-functional and real-time computing difficulty.Experiment results verified the real-time functional performance,parallelism and expansibility of the designed system.

Abstract:A deinterleaving algorithm of radar signal based on DSP is presented in this paper, which is according to the structure of the deinterleaving system, characteristics of PDW (Pulse Descriptor Word) and histogram method. The threshold determination, accumulation of PRI (Pulse Repetition Interval) and others in the algorithm applied in different fields are introduced in detail. The experimental results and comparison with PRI transform method show that the algorithm in the paper does not only achieve the excellent deinterleaving performance in the mixed signal of normal pulses, staggered pulses and jittered pulses with high density of 200 thousand pulses per second from the same direction, but also do well with the capability of real-time processing and robustness.

The conventional pulse weather radar only observes one parameter, Z (reflectivity factor), the data scale is smaller than modern pulse Doppler radars and dual-polarization radar. Abstract:For requirement of high data rate,real-time ability and high dynamic range of the passive radar based on TV acoustics,a signal processing system based on TS201 DSP is designed and it can be used as the engineering application platform of the passive radar.The system processes data with its cascade architecture,which distributes algorithms among multiple processors in series.At the section of heavy computation,parallel processors are set to improve the processing capability and data refresh rate.The layout of memory and data bus resource are designed,avoiding competition between data transmission and processing.Besides processors co-operation,algorithms are optimized for the architecture of the processor.With experiments,the performance of the processing system is demonstrated and it meets the expectation.

Abstract:Higher performance is required for a receiver of modern radar system. Digital receiver technology is an effective implementation method of high accuracy and wide band radar receiving systems. The theory and technology of digital receiver are introduced in this paper. The digital down conversion,Number Controlled Oscillator (NCO),Cascade integrator comb (CIC) filter and decimation are discussed. An example for implementing a digital receiver based on FPGA is presented. The analysis and simulation are made and the test results are provided.

Abstract:A real-time data acquisition system of the radar video echo signal is introduced. The system uses a microcomputer with a RAID card as the acquisition control equipment, and common microcomputer monitor as the display device, and several IDE hard disks as the disk array to store the acquired data. A high speed radar signal acquisition PCI card based on FPGA is designed to acquire radar data. FPGA is used as the kernel chip to control the data acquisition, and to implement the 32-bit/33 MHz PCI interface logic. The dual-port RAM in FPGA and the buffer storage in the microcomputer can provide continuous acquisition, and the data selection, coordinate inquiry-list mapping and the DirectDraw technique can implement the real-time PPI display and the B-scope display on the microcomputer monitor. The azimuth and the distance wave gate of any areas can be set, and the acquired data on disk array can be stored at real time.
