Abstract:Product Structure Management is the core of both ERP system and PDM system and is necessary and important to manufacturing information engineering. A PSM system example aimed at practical project has been developed in the paper to present its function and key technology of developing. This system realized its integration between I-DEAS and MRPII besides other conventional molding functions such as creating and modifying BOM, product file demanding and product structure multi-view management.

Abstract:The technology of product configuration in a Product Data Management (PDM)system was discussed in this paper. The paper presented the product configuration modeling technology by based on the 'and/or' tree of product configuration, the process relation and coupling relation between components, and then, a general model of the product configuration scheme was proposed. The product configuration algorithm based on the product configuration scheme was also introduced and the feasibility from the theory model to the program was proved. The paper also discussed the application of Case-Based Reasoning(CBR) technology in product configuration, and, the emphasis was given towards the similar component search by the Nearest Neighbor(N-N) method. Finally, the product configuration technology was implemented on hydro-generator design process, and the result indicated this technology was valuable to realize intelligentization and automation of product configuration.

Abstract:In order to better support product development and design for Mass Customization (MC), the key integration technologies of Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Product Data Manage- ment (PDM) system were studied. Focusing on the data integration of part, the data model of part family and data mapping logic of CAD and PDM systems integration were discussed. The system integration architecture was put forward as well. Then several main function interfaces were developed including coding module interface, setting up tabular layouts of article characteristics and registration interface from CAD model to PDM. Finally, an application example was provided to verify the feasibility of principle and system.

Abstract:To improve design efficiency, realize fast-customization and design knowledge reusing, a configuration product design methodology is presented based on modularization. First, the object-oriented theory is used to define the concept of component and configuration design. Then, the key issues such as product element identification, product element clustering, and product element class abstraction and encapsulation during the process of component forming are discussed in detail. After that, the theory and methodology of component forming and using are proposed based on the definition of the component, and the process of configuration design is given. Furthermore, the mathematical model of the configuration system is established. Finally, an example of configuration design is given to illustrate the validity of the theory and methodology of configuration design.

Abstract:An integration framework and a UML (Unified Modeling Language) design method of PC(Product Configuration) model were given based on the function module design of PC manager.The method supports all kinds of informatization management,which implements the seamless integration in the function and data layers between PC manager and PDM (Product Data Management).Furthermore,it divides the model into structure element and logic element,which reduces the coupling degree of integration and provides good platform transplantation.

Abstract:According to the ideas of Collaborative Product Data Management(CPDM),a modified method was proposed to design product structure of traditional PDM.It adopted the object-oriented design ideas.Based on the version management mechanism,the overall lifecycle management was adopted,and the traditional functions of product structure were extended and divided into part sub-systems,including three modules as part management,product structure management,and configuration management.The working principles and design ideas for each module were discussed in detail.The classical and mature design ideas in traditional PDM were preserved,and with the actual application of the Chinese manufacturers,three types of the configuration management of view,datum line and effectiveness were summarized.Finally,this design method was successfully applied in Phosphor/cPDM software.

Abstract:The conceptual design is a basic step in product development and it is important to include it in the concurrent design of a product. To realize this target, it is critical to manage the product information in conceptual design in a concurrent engineering environment. This paper first analyzes the shortcomings of current commercial PDM systems in supporting conceptual design and discusses the product information management mode based on product structure tree, then lists some key problems that faced in using such a management mode and present the corresponding solutions. Through all the work, the author constructs an application scheme of product data management in conceptual design that supports concurrent product design.

Abstract:Product lifecycle management (PLM) is a uniform and integrated platform to support company operation. The integration of product data, the process and application are studied efficiently in this paper. Through constructing PDM platform, the nodes of BOM are applied to reengineer, restructure and extend, which forms the new structure-tree of data so as to realize the data-shared for the design, manufacture, sale, maintenance till callback throughout the whole PLM. On the basis of process integration, the paper adopts WBS to build the process modeling of system function, technology, action, organizing and resource aspects, and then complete the dynamic process management of interrelated systems.
