Abstract:In this paper, a chaos system which is easy to realize is built. By adding a feedback controller to a stable linear time_invariant (LTI) system, the state value of the controlled system gets a positive Lyapunov exponent. Using the quasi_periodicity and distribution, data stream can be modified and the encryption can be achieved.

Abstract:The chaotic output-cipher feedback mode(OCFM) stream cipher was developed to resist attacks based on chaotic orbits.The chaotic signals were generated based on iterating the piecewise linear chaotic map(PLCM) with a segment number parameter(SNP).Odd bits were used to produce the key streams.After being incorporated,the even bits and ciphers were fed back as the next state of the key stream generator.When the chaotic systems were realized with finite precision,the perturbation approach was applied to remedy the finite precision effect,and the perturbation signal was m-sequence.Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the OCFM cipher is secure and easy to be realized by hardware or software,and that the encryption speed can be adjusted to meet the application requirement at the algorithm level.

Abstract:Considering the problem of information exchanging security,the feasibility of chaotic circuits is searched.Based on the original Chua circuit,this paper puts forward a modified Chua circuit with stimulated inductor and RC parallel structure and applies it in stimulated communication circuit.The results have not only successfully demonstrated chaotic secure communication,but also made it clear that the modified circuit is more robust as to set a very important foundation for chaotic synchronization communication.

Abstract:A novel single-channel digital secure communication scheme based on dual synchronization of chaos in Colpitts circuits is proposed. Two binary messages, modulated by the OOK scheme and mixed together with two chaotic waveforms, serve as the only transmission signal through a single channel. Simulation results show that two messages can be successfully recovered at their respective receivers. The proposed scheme shows tremendous advantages in terms of effective utilization of spectrum resource for multi-user communications and potential applications in secret sharing systems.

Abstract:A systematic approach to construct two chaotically synchronized systems was developed. An object matrix was found to satisfy a Riccati inequality to design the synchronized chaotic Lipschitz state-observer through using the LMI (linear matrix inequality) toolbox. The proposed method, combining chaotic masking and chaotic modulation, was then applied to secure communication. The complex encrypted information signal was injected into the chaos system and simultaneously transmitted to the receiver after chaotic masking. The information signal was recovered through a complex decrypter in the synchronized receiver. Furthermore, the well-known Chua's circuit was considered as illustration examples to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Abstract:By combining the one-way coupled chaotic map lattice system with a bit-reverse operation, we construct a new cryptosystem which is extremely sensitive to the system parameters even for low-dimensional systems. The security of this new algorithm is investigated and mechanism of the sensitivity is analyzed. We further apply this cryptosystem to the public channel cryptography, based on "Merkle's puzzles", by employing it both as pseudo-random-number (PN) generators and symmetric encryptor. With the properties of spatiotemporal chaos, the new scheme is rich with new features and shows some advantages in comparison with the conventional ones.

Abstract:Based on geometric theory of nonlinear feedback control, a new method to synchronize chaotic systems was put forward. As prerequisite of an appropriate smooth vector field by virtue of nonlinear differential geometry theory to assure the normalization of the receiver system was completed, and then in terms of differences of outputs and their different orders derivatives of the transmitter and receiver, the synchronization error state equations were constructed. By pole assignment, a nonlinear controller to synchronization output signals of two chaotic systems was also given and extended to the whole or part of the states of the two systems. As a result; numerical simulation to the Chua's circuit and its application in secure communication proves the efficacy of the suggested methods.

Abstract:This paper presents a hyperchaotic secure communication system based on a state observer. The complex encrypted information signal is injected into the hyperchaotic system and transmitted to the receiver after chaotic masking. An observer-based approach is applied to synchronize the transmitter and the receiver. The information signal is recovered by a complex decrypter in the receiver. The utilization of hyperchaos-based cryptosystems as well as the increased complexity of the transmitted signal make a contribution to the development of communication systems with higher security.

Abstract:In this study, a 4D hyperchaotic system is constructed based on the foundation of a 3D Lü chaotic system. The newly devised hyperchaotic system possesses a sole equilibrium point, showcasing a simplified system structure that reduces complexity. This simplification offers a clearer opportunity for in-depth analysis of dynamic behaviors in the realm of scientific research. The proposed hyperchaotic system undergoes an in-depth examination of its dynamical characteristics, including chaotic attractors, equilibrium point stability, Lyapunov exponents' spectrum, and bifurcation diagram. Numerical analysis results reveal that the attractor of this hyperchaotic system exhibits highly complex, non-periodic, and fractal structural dynamics. Its motion demonstrates extreme sensitivity and randomness, even within a wide range of variations in parameter d, affirming its hyperchaotic properties with two positive Lyapunov exponents. Hyperchaotic bifurcation diagrams typically exhibit highly intricate structures, such as fractals, branches, and period doubling characteristics, signifying that even minor parameter adjustments can lead to significant changes in system behavior, presenting diversity and unpredictability. Subsequently, to further investigate the practical utility of this hyperchaotic system, a linear feedback control strategy is implemented. Through linear feedback control, the hyperchaotic system is stabilized at its unique equilibrium point. Experimental validation is conducted using both computer software simulation Matlab, electronic circuit simulation Multisim, and embedded hardware STM32. The results of these experiments consistently align, providing theoretical support for the application of this hyperchaotic system in practical domains. Finally, leveraging the hyperchaotic keys generated by this hyperchaotic system, audio encryption is achieved using a cross-XOR algorithm, which is then realized on the embedded hardware platform STM32. The results show that the audio encryption scheme based on the hyperchaotic system is feasible, and the method is simple to implement, has nonlinear characteristics and certain algorithm complexity, which can be applied to audio encryption, image encryption, video encryption, and more.

Abstract:Generalized function projective lag synchronization of different structure hyperchaotic systems with different time delays was studied.Based on Lyapunov stability theory and adaptive control method,the nonlinear controllers were designed,and the output of the drive system was proportionally lagging behind the output of the response system and ratio of the two systems was desired function scaling matrix.Then,this method was applied to secure communication through chaotic masking modulation.Numerical simulations confirm that both the proposed synchronization method and the secure communication scheme are effective.

Abstract:This Letter considers the problem of chaotic secure communication in the drive-response framework. The drive system can be augmented into a higher order system, and then a sliding mode observer based response system can be constructed to synchronize this augmented system. If they satisfy certain conditions, the hidden message can be recovered directly by the concept of equivalent control. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulation verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:A novel digital secure communication system employing dual synchronization of chaos in two pairs of Colpitts circuits is proposed. The binary information to be transmitted is firstly modulated by digital modulation scheme, and then mixed together with two chaotic waveforms generated by two Colpitts circuits with different circuit parameters. Thus the combined (and encrypted) signal is transmitted through an additive white Gauss noise (AWGN) channel. In the receiver, the binary message can be recovered only when the parameters of the two Colpitts circuits are known. If the parameters of the two Colpitts circuits are owned by two different users, this can be viewed as a (2, 2) threshold scheme. Based on large amount of simulations, the bit error rate (BER) performance of this communication scheme is presented.

Abstract:Chaotic systems are widely used in secure communication due to their sensitivity to initial values, unpredictability, and complex motion trajectories. In this paper, we study the encryption method of chaotic synchronization and introduce a scaling factor based on traditional feedback control synchronization to achieve more accurate projection synchronization. The effectiveness and robustness of the method in chaotic systems are verified through theoretical proofs and numerical simulations. A chaotic masked speech encryption system utilizing bit similarity is designed; the structural similarity index (SSIM) of the decrypted signal with the original signal is as high as 0.992866, while the SSIM value of the encrypted signal with the original signal is only 0.000030, proving the efficiency and security of the encryption process. Additionally, we analyzed the data transmission process of the encryption system. The fusion of the control signal and the encryption sequence into one transmission sequence in the channel not only saves hardware and software design resources but also reduces inter-channel interference and conflict, improving the reliability and stability of the transmission. Experimental results show that the system performs well in terms of data transmission security and anti-interference capability.

Abstract:In this paper, an improved secure communication scheme is proposed based on passive synchronization of hyperchaotic complex nonlinear system. The hyperchaotic complex Lü system is employed to encrypt the emitted signal. Comparing with the existing approaches, the useful information in our work can be unbounded. In the transmitter, the original information signal is modulated into one parameter of hyperchaotic complex Lü system and it is assumed that the parameter of the receiver system is unknown. In the receiver, based on the passivity theory, the controllers and corresponding parameter update rule are designed to make two identical hyperchaotic complex Lü systems asymptotically synchronized, and identify the unknown parameter simultaneously. The information signal can be recovered accurately by the estimated parameter. Corresponding theoretical proofs and numerical simulations demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. It is also shown that the presented secure communication scheme is robust against different channel noise.

Abstract:In recent years, synchronization of chaotic systems has aroused much interest due to its potential application to secure communications. However, it is found by Perez and Cerdeira that an intruder, without the knowledge of the parameters of the system or even of the nonlinear system itself, may extract the messages from the carrier signal by producing a return map where the dynamics is attracted to an almost 1D set. To eliminate the weakness, in this letter, a simple but efficient method for synchronizing chaotic systems by modulating the transmitted signal with an appropriately choosing scalar signal is proposed. It turns out that this modulating strategy not only preserves all appropriate information required for synchronizing chaotic systems but also destroys the possibility of the phase space reconstruction of the sender dynamics such as a return map.

Abstract:High-quality data transmission synchronization process is frequently expected in light of secure communication mechanisms (SCMs), especially for space laser communication among the satellite constellation. To improve security and reliability during the data transmission processes prominently, control problems of chaotic synchronization synchronously at the same time are explored. In this paper, several novel error synchronization control protocols are proposed to solve these problems. First, by introducing a norm-normalized sign function (NNSF), unique (fixed-) time-synchronized stability is manifested, such that all non-zero state elements reach the origin synchronously at the same time. And upper bounds of synchronous resident time calculated by offered protocols are irrelevant/relevant to initial states of the error systems. Second, integrated with the (fixed-) time-synchronized stability theories, the (fixed-) time-synchronized sliding mode controllers with special convergent performance are established for two representative types of chaotic systems. Third, the ratio-persistent performance plays a dominating role for simultaneous convergence of the errors. Further, the innovation of the algorithms is reflected in that the decrypted signal is completely consistent with the transmitted message signal within synchronized settling time. Finally, in the simulation, not only theoretical verifications, but also practical verifications of image encryption and decryption processes verify the effectiveness of the SCMs.

Abstract:This paper describes the security weakness of a recently proposed secure communication method based on discrete-time chaos synchronization. We show that the security is compromised even without precise knowledge of the chaotic system used. We also make many suggestions to improve its security in future versions.
