Abstract:espanolLa gestion de la pandemia en paises como China ha llevado a algunos analistas, y a parte de la poblacion occidental en general, a plantearse la superioridad de los sistemas autoritarios sobre los democraticos cuando se trata de responder a crisis y emergencias. El debate se intensifico en los peores momentos del confinamiento, cuando en Asia ya habian superado la primera oleada y en Europa se implantaban severas restricciones de las libertades individuales. En este articulo trataremos de reflexionar y dar respuesta a los desafios de las sociedades democraticas, analizaremos la maquinaria que se ha puesto en marcha a traves de las redes sociales y el big data, asi como el peso que gana la microgestion social y la tecnologia en esta labor. EnglishThe management of the pandemic in countries such as China has led some analysts, and parts of the Western population in general, to question the superiority of authoritarian systems over democratic ones when it comes to responding to crises and emergencies. The debate intensified during the worst moments of confinement, when Asia had already overcome the first wave and severe restrictions on individual freedoms were being implemented in Europe. In this article, we will try to reflect on and respond to the challenges of democratic societies, analyse the machinery that has been set in motion through social networks and big data, as well as the weight that micromanagement and technology are gaining in this work.
