Clinical Analysis of 172 Cases of Malignant Pleural Effusion with Lung Cancer

Abstract:Objective To investigate the characteristics of malignant pleural effusion with lung cancer,and to raise diagnosis rate of malignant pleural effusion with lung cancer.Methods To analyze retrospectivey clinical data of 172 cases of lung cancer complicated with malignant pleural effusion who had been diagnosed explicitly by the pathology in our hospital in the last 5 years.Results ①Cases of adenocarcinoma were 89(51.7%) cases,46 cases of spuamous carcinoma(26.7%),25 cases of small cell carcinoma(14.5%).12 cases of the other pathologic types(7.0%).②172 cases of the lung cancer complicated with malign ant pleural effusion who over 45 years of age(include 45 years old) were 79.6%(137/172).③ Cases of a great deal of pleural effusion were 78 cases,54 cases of medium quantity of pleural effusion,40 cases of a little amount of pleural effusion.④Cases of pleural effusion in the right chest were 102(59.3%),51 cases of the left chest(29.7%),both chest's were 19 cases(11.0%).⑤Cases of exudative hydrops were 164(95.3%),8 cases of transdatory dropsy(4.7%).Cases of blood effusion were 139(80.8%),33 cases of non-blood effusion(19.2%).Among them found out carcinoma cell from the pleural effusion were 125 cases(72.7%).Conclusion It's must to examine completely for the patients with malignant pleural effusion,and analyze the characteristics of malignant pleural effusion resulted in lung cancer,which can raise the diagnosis rate of lung cancer.The time of diagnosis can be shorten.
