Abstract:The species composition, avifauna, species diversity and resource of birds in Huangshanlu Park of Nansha, Guangzhou city were studied. A total of 41 bird species were recorded in the forest park, which belong to 6 orders and 19 families. Of these, 28 species are the residents, 12 species are winter migrants, and 1 species is summer migrants. According to the classification of the animal geographical distribution of China, 22 species belong to the oriental species, 8 species belonged to the palaearctic species and 11 species belong to the widespread species.
Investigations on Diversity of Birds at the Black Bamboo Park in Beijing

Abstract:Diversity of birds was surveyed at the Black Bamboo Park in Beijing during September 2004 to June 2005.A total of 52 species of birds were recorded,belonging to 11 orders and 26 families.There were 17 species of summer breeders,4 winter visitors and 28 species travelers among 38 migratory species,and the remaining 13 species were residents.Species and number of birds varied with the seasonal changes.A wide variety of birds appeared in spring and autumn,and the highest in autumn.The greatest number of birds occurred in winter.Dominant species were starlings(Sturnus cineraceus),sparrows(Passer montanus),magpies(Pica pica),azure-winged magpies(Cyanopica cyana),mallards(Anas platyrhynchos),and mandarin ducks(Aix galericulata).The diversity index trend of the bird community was similar with the evenness index.Both were high in spring and autumn and low in winter,while the dominance index was the highest in winter and lowest in spring and autumn.The increase of bird diversity was primarily due to migration in spring and autumn.Increasing the area and heterogeneity of the park and rational allocation of resources will facilitate the preservation of bird diversity in the Black Bamboo Park.

Abstract:Point sampling and line transect surveys of birds were conducted from January to December 2008 in Nanhuidongtan Wetland,Shanghai,China.A total of 158 species of birds were recorded in the area,belonging to 14 orders and 40 families.Among them,63 species(39.87%)were passengers,58 species(36.71%)were winter migrants,19 species(12.03%)were summer breeders,and 18 species(11.39%)were residents.There were 37 species of breeders in the area,of which 25 species(67.57%)belong to the Oriental realm.It reflects the feature of the Oriental realm of the avian community in the study area.In addition,12 species are listed as grade Ⅱ key state-protected wildlife,4 species listed as municipal-key protected wildlife of Shanghai,and 2 new birds were recorded in Shanghai.

Abstract:Birds are sensitive to environmental changes.Using transect census methods and point count methods,we carried out a comprehensive investigation on the birds diversity in Wuhan area from Sep.2000 to Jun.2004.The recorded 127 species of birds in this area belong to 16 Orders,49 Families and 91 Genera respectively and have both southern and northern zoogeographical faunal characteristics.The Shannon-Wiener index is 6.277,G index is 4.351,F index is 20.261,and G-F index is 0.785 respectively.The biodiversity indexes are low and the evenness indexes are high in all habitats,while the similarity indexes are not high among all habitats.Comparatively,the diversity index in farmland(5.357) and woodland(5.737) is higher than others,the evenness index in farmland(0.903) is the highest,while the similarity index between woodland and gardens and resident area(0.821) is the highest.This study will be a glance to the changes of environment in this area in the past decades.Because of the large number of migrants,this area,undoubtedly,is a very important place to monitor birds migration and birds taking plague,such as bird flu..

Abstract:The species of plants and birds in Minghang District of Shanghai City are investigated. 556 species (including subspecies and variation species) of plants are discovered,which belongs to 114 families and 337genera. 25 species of birds discovered belong to 4 orders,12 family,2 subfamilies and 17 genera. The relationship between birds diversity and plants richness is discussed. The results show that there are no noticeable relationships between the Shannon-Wiener index,Monk index of birds and plants richness respectively,but remarkable relationship exists between the Margalef index,Menhinick index and plants richness. The problems in bio-diversity conservation are clarified,and some countermeasures are suggested.

Abstract:Shanghai has abundant bird diversity.Here,the checklist of birds in Shanghai was compiled according to field surveys,data collection and specimen inspection.A total of 436 bird speices,belonging to 20 orders and 58 families,have been recorded in Shanghai since early 20 century.Since 2000,there have been 370 bird speices recorded.Comparing with the bird records in the early 1990s,there are 51 species of new records while 67 species of historical records were absent.Climate change and environmental alternation might be one of the reasons for the change of bird species.Moreover,bird watching increased the opportunity of discorvery of new records.Birdwatching records of birdwatchers provide important references for understanding the current status and dynamics of bird diversity.

Abstract:The bird community diversity of Chengde City in Hebei Province was studied from 2007 to 2009,so as to explore the effect of urbanization on the bird community. The results showed that as many as 186 kinds of birds were recorded,which belonged to 17 orders,49 families and 98 genuses. The index of H′ and DG-F were the highest in Mountain Resort area. The trends of H′ was Mountain Resort area>Orchard farm area>Wuliehe river area>Residential building area. The trends of DG-F was Mountain Resort area>Wuliehe river area>Orchard farm area>Residential building area. The residential building in city was not conducive to bird community,but the garden construction played an important role in improving the diversity of bird communities.
Bird Diversity in Rainy Season in Forest Regions of Hainan Island,China

Abstract:Bird diversity during rainy season in forest regions of Hainan Island,China,namely Jianfengling,Bawangling,Yinggeling,Diaoluoshan and Limushan Nature Reserves,and Wanling,Nanweiling forests,were surveyed,using line transect count method from April to August 2005 with aim of comparing bird diversity between different habitats in the same forest or among the same habitat in different forests.Totally 80 species were found,of which belong to 10 orders and 37 families.Bird diversity between different habitats in the same forest were in the order:primary forestsecondary forestartifical planted forest.For birds at the same habitat in different forests,Yinggeling Nature Reserve had the highest bird diversity between the primary forests,and Bawangling Nature Reserve had the more bird species in the secondary forests.Bird diversity in artificial planted forests was lower than any other forestry type.Large and continuous natural forests,especially the primary ones,are the best habitats for bird diversity.

Abstract:During the investigation on water birds at Lake Yuehu,Lake Donghu,Lake Jinyinhu and Lake Chenhu Nature Reserve form 2007 to 2009,60 birds species of 15 families,8 orders were recorded,in which there were 7 species listed on RankⅠandⅡNational Protected Wildlife,5 species listed on China Red Data Book of Endangered Animals and 19 species protected provincially.The water bird diversity of Lake Chenhu is much higher than those of the other three lakes.The differences of habitat factors in four lakes and the relationships between water bird diversity and habitat factors were analyzed.The results showed that the water bird diversity was correlated positively with the habitat diversity,negatively with the human disturbance.The eutrophication index of Lake Donghu(Luoyan Sight) was significantly lower those that of the other three lakes,and there were no significant differences among the eutrophication indices of Lake Chenhu,Lake Yuehu and Lake Jinyinhu.The water quality of Lake Chenhu turned out worse because of high density and orderless aquaculture,which needed high attention and protection.

Abstract:The birds composition and quantity has carried in Shaohuashan National Forest Park by the route survey method and the singing of birds .Through the investigation in habitats in different elevation gradient , total 31 species were recorded , belonging to 7 orders, 16 families.We suggest the management department of Shaohuashan Forest Park should strengthen the protection con -sciousness of natural environment and reduce human interference in order to provide an appropriate habitats for birds .

Abstract:The distribution, density and diversity of waterbirds on 6 kinds of wetlands in Hangzhou were surveyed between December in 1997 and November in 1998. 38 species were recorded all year, and most of them were migrants. The community assemblage changed greatly between seasons. 5 resident species showed adaptability ot urban environments, while migrants distributed mostly to the areas of suburb and environs and infrequently to the city zone. The species diversity at all the wetlands in Hangzhou fluctuated little all year round, the density was higher in autumn than that in other seasons. Nevertheless, the diversity and density at each kind of wetland fluctuated greatly. The aquafarm was the most important waterbird habitat in Hangzhou, and the West Lake and the pond area were also important in maintaining the diversity and density of waterbirds in Hangzhou.

Abstract:The population number, density and diversity of waterfowls in Zhejiang Province were surveyed from April 1997 to July 1999, with the systematic sampling, line transect and point count methods. 7 orders, 13 families and 97 species of waterfowl with 53.6% winter visitors were recorded. Podiceps grisegena, Calidris minuta and Limicola falcinellus were found as new records in Zhejiang Province. About 92.6×104 individuals was estimated as the total number of waterfowls in Zhejiang based on the density survey. Among these waterfowls, the number of Calidris alpina was highest and there were 25 species that population number was more than 10 000 individuals. The population densities of waterfowls in the area of sea coast were higher than in the areas of continent and island. In sea coast area, there were 21 species that density was more than 1.0 ind./km2 and 5 species in island area. There was, however, no any species that density was over 1.0 ind./km2 in continent area. The intertidal mud wetlands on the coast of Zhejiang, particularly in the areas of Wenzhou Bay and Yueqing Bay were very important areas not only for Ptatalea minor to use as stopover sites, but also for Larus saundersi to use as wintering sites.

Abstract:During the investigation on water birds at Lake Jinyinhu from Nov.2007 to Mar.2009,34 birds species of 11 families 8 orders were recorded,in which there were 21 winter migrant species,6 summer migrant species,5 resident species and 2 passengers.In terms of geographical distribution type,there were 21 Palaearctic species,2 Oriental species and 11 cosmopolitan species.Platalea leucorodia,listed on both Rank Ⅱ National Protected Wildlife and China Red Data Book of Endangered Animals,was recorded.And there were 10 species protected provincially.According to the feeding habits of water birds,there were more spedes living on fish and shrimp,but more biomass of the species living on hydrophytes.The water quality of Lake Jinyinhu turned out to be even poorer than the 5th level.were analyzed,The bird diversity index in different seasons and different habitats were analyzed.It indicated that the reconstruction of hydrophytes and the change of wate-land area by water level control would increase the biodiversity of Lake Jinyinhu.Furthermore,the species diversity of water birds and environmetn condition were compared between urban and suburban lakes of Wuhan.The result showed that the water bird diversity correlated negatively with the pollution degree,positively with the area of lakes.Thus the over development and encroachnent of wetlands should be prohibited,and it is urgent to improve the water quality.

Abstract:Based on field investigations on birds in the estuary wetland of north branch of Yangtze River,there are 216 species,41 families and 16 orders of birds.Most species are waterfowls,in which waders,geese and ducks,umbrette and gull are the main bird community types.Wader is the largest in both the number of species and the size of population.Non breeding birds(winter migrating and travelling birds) are the majority.Prominent species are Oriental species,followed by cosmopolitan species,and palaearctic species only accounts for a small proportion.There are more species of rare and endangered birds,but less in quantities of each species.Most of these rare and endangered birds are waterfowls,and wetland is their primary habitat.The G-index of birds in North branch of Yangtze estuary wetland is 4.38,F-index is 23.03,and G-F index is 0.81.Inter-families and inter-species diversities of birds in the estuary wetland of north branch of Yangtze River are higher than in Yellow River delta wetland and the estuary wetland of Min River.

Abstract:A survey of birds in the Qingxiling region of Hebei was conducted from 2000 to 2002. 239 species of birds belonging to 17 orders, 48 families were recorded during this period. Among these, 28 species are distributed in the Oriental realm, 147 species (61.51%) in the Palaeartic realm and 64 species (26.78%) are widely distributed. 73 species (30.54%) are summer breeders, 8 species (3.35%) are winter species, 142 species (59.41%) are transient migrants and 16 species (6.69%) are residents, which account for 51.96% of total species in Hebei province. There are 4 Categories I, Nationally Protected Species, 37 Category II Nationally Protected Species and 13 species with Hebei Provincial Protected status. The avifanua has obvious character of the Palaeartic realm.

Abstract:The avifauna and community structure of birds in Wuhai of Inner Mongolia were investigated from April in 2009 to March in 2010.A total of 132 bird species belonging to 17 orders,37 families were recorded.Among them,26 birds are residents,71 are summer visitors,27 passing migrants and 8 winter visitors.Among the birds,97 including 83 Palaearctic species breed in the study area accounting for 85.6% of the breeding birds.The Shannon-Wiener index and evenness index in Spring are higher than in any other seasons;and the Shannon-Wiener index in wetland is higher than in any other habitats.Some conservation suggestions are put forward for birds and their survival environment.

Abstract:The survey on the bird species and numbers was conducted with the method of the point count during April to May 2006 at the Mamize Nature Reserve of Sichuan Province. During the two months survey,1948 individuals of birds were recorded, belonging to 105 species, 23 families and 7 orders. There are 6 species of birds protected nationally, and 7 national endemic species at this Nature Reserve. The analysis about the bird fauna suggests that the East-Asian Group species is dominant. There are four bird communities distinguished according to the habitat. The analysis about the bird diversity of the different habitats suggests that 1)the highest similarity of the bird community is the replanted forest and the shrub meadow, and the lowest is the shrub meadow and the primary forest; 2)the highest bird diversity is the secondary forest, and the lowest is the shrub meadow; 3)the primary forest has the most species of birds protected nationally, and the national endemic species is fewer than the secondary forest; 4) the highest density of the birds in four bird communities is the understorey.

Abstract:From 2006 to 2007,biodiversity of bird autumn population were surveyed in 4 habitats in Zhalong nature reserve.In 2006, 53 species,11 orders and 25 families of birds were recorded;in 2007,55 species,9 orders and 22 families were reeorded,with the new record of 2 birds of the purple-winged starling.Biodiversity analysis of birds in 4 habitats indicated that,in 2006,biodiver- sity was highest in the water habitat,next in the reed swamp,human residential area and the grass marshland;in 2007,highest in the reed swamp,next in water habitat,human residential area and grass marshland.
