Abstract:In this paper, a novel discrete variable structure control strategy based on sliding mode prediction for a class of nonlinear systems is presented. By introducing a sliding mode prediction model, the trajectory of the sliding mode follows the expected track of the proposed reaching law exactly. Simultaneously, the corresponding variable structure control law which realized receding horizon optimization and feedback correction is obtained. Simulation results illustrate that the closed-loop system has desired performance, such as strong robustness, fast convergence and chattering elimination

Abstract:A sliding mode-like fuzzy logic control (SMFC) algorithm for a class of high order nonlinear systems is presented. The fuzzy logic controller obtained is equivalent to a sliding mode controller. New adaptive laws for the parameters of the fuzzy logic system (FLS) are adopted in order to self-tune the so-called dead zone parameters. The robustness and the resistance ability to the external perturbations of systems are improved and the chattering of the sliding mode control (SMC) is eliminated. The simulation results of a numerical example show that the control algorithm is efficient and feasible.

Abstract:In this paper, a new discrete variable structure control design approach based on sliding mode prediction algorithm for a class of discrete-time systems is presented. By employing a special model to predict future sliding mode value and an ideal reaching law as reference sliding mode trajectory, and at the same time, combining feedback correction and rolling optimization method which are extensively applied on predictive control strategy, a discrete-time variable structure control law is constructed. Simulation results illustrate that the closed-loop system has desired performance, such as strong robustness, fast convergence and chattering elimination. © 2005 AACC.

Abstract:In this paper mathematical model of the hybrid electromagnetic and permanent magnetic suspension system model is established, and sliding mode variable structure controller of the fuzzy approaching law is designed in the use of a sliding mode control strategy considering the open-loop instability, strongly nonlinear characteristics and etc. then mixed-maglev system has been effectively controlled. Simulation results show that the control method ensures the rapid of approaching movement, at the same time retains the robustness of sliding mode control system, effective in inhibiting the system chatter.

Abstract:The nonlinearities of the electronic throttle is discussed and its model has been established. A variable structure controller and observer are designed by using the sliding mode variable structure control theory. Simulation and experimentation results show that the actual angle value tracks the command angle very well.

Abstract:For BLDCM speed regulating system, the parameter’s self-adaptive fuzzy PID controller was constructed. A BLDCM simulation model was built, based on it a control system with close loops of speed and current was experimented. This controller improves the performance of the whole system by adjusting certain parameters of the self-adaptive Fuzzy-PID controller online.This strategy controller is proved to have faster dynamic andsmaller overshoot compared to PID controller both in simulation and experiment.

Abstract:In this paper,a new hybrid speed regulating method based on Fuzzy-PID was proposed.It can be used in the speed loop for speed and current closed loop control DC motor control system.When the error between reference speed and real speed is bigger than some threshold value,uses the fuzzy control.But when the error reduces to the threshold value below,changes the PID adjustment.The simulation research on the hybrid speed regulating system of DC motor was carried out.The simulation results show that the system based on this hybrid speed regulating has better dynamic and static performance than the system based on PID speed regulating.A speed control system of DJ23 DC motor used in DDSZ-1 electrical machinery and electrical technology test installation was introduced.The system based on this new hybrid speed regulating method has a control unit of the single-chip Atmega128,using PWMcontrol signal to control DC motor.The results of experiment show that the system is of better robustness and strong practicality and simple structure.

Abstract:Mixed magnetic bearing system (MMBS) has a complex non-linear. Firstly, this paper analyzes MMBS according to the principle and a mathematical model is established. And then a sliding mode variable structure control (SMVSC) method is presented, which bases on non-linear system. Compared with the traditional PID control method, SMVSC has good stability and robustness. At the same time, it can rapidly achieve system balance within a short time and has a strong inhibitory effect to interfering signals. Simulation results show the effectiveness and practicability of the algorithm. © 2010 IEEE.

Abstract:In order to solve the problems of strongly nonlinear,multivariable coupling and complexities of the exact analytical model for the switched reluctance motor( SRM),the traditional fuzzy and PI control methods were investigated. After the analysis of system model,the linearly and nonlinearly relationship were established between the plant and controller. A method called hybrid fuzzy PI arithmetic was presented to design a speed controller. A simulation program of switched reluctance drive system( SRD) based on Ansoft and Matlab-simulink was developed. The relationship between behavior of hybrid fuzzy PI controller and SRM performance was studied under different feedback error circumstances. The controller stabilization performance and SRM static / dynamic performance were evaluated at the same time. The physical verification experimental results indicate that both static / dynamic performance and robustness of SRD are improved.

Abstract:To reduce traditional direct torque control (DTC) system low speed control precision and the large torque ripple in low speed, a fuzzy control system of DTC was proposed. On the basis of conventional PI regulator, a fuzzy speed PI regulator was designed according to speed error and its rate of change, which could adjust the proportional coefficient kp and integral coefficient kp dynamically to adapt the system to the speed variations, and advanced the self-adaptation of speed. In voltage vector fuzzy controller model, the stator flux angle, the stator flux error, and the torque error are reasonably fuzzified into several fuzzy subsets to optimize selection of the voltage vector and decrease the torque ripple. The experimental results show that the proposed fuzzy control system not only can ensure swift speed response, small overshooting, and high steady speed precision, but also can effectively decrease torque ripple in low speed. Additionally, the system improves the observation precision of the stator flux and enhances the robustness of the whole system

Abstract:A sliding mode voltage control strategy is proposed in this paper to capture the maximum electrical energy from wind. This control strategy mainly includes a fuzzy logic controller and a sliding mode voltage controller. The fuzzy logic controller is designed to derive the optimum DC-side voltage, while the sliding mode voltage controller is employed to track the derived optimum voltage with minimum steady-state error and hence to capture the maximum wind energy. This paper illustrates how major issues in the design and implementation of the two controllers can be handled effectively. Comparative experimental results demonstrate that significant performance improvements in maximum wind energy capture can be achieved by using the proposed control strategy. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. Abstract:In this paper, we present a novel method for designing a controller with good rubustness for variable-speed wind energy conversion systems based on a characteristic model. Due to the stochastic operating conditions and the inevitable nonlinear characteristics inherent in the system, the dynamic model is usually too complex for the system analysis and controller design. Therefore, we first develop a detailed plant characteristic model of a variable-speed wind energy conversion system, which simplifies significantly the engineering implementation. Then the sliding mode incorporating fuzzy tuning schemes is applied to design a controller that optimizes the converter system efficiency and robustness. Analysis and experimentation show that the method achieves satisfactory wind energy tracking.

Abstract:Many industrial applications require high performance speed sensorless operation and demand new control schemes in order to obtain fast dynamic response. In this paper, we present a speed sensorless sliding mode control (SMC) of induction motor (IM). The sliding mode control is a powerful tool to reject disturbances. However, the chattering phenomenon presents a major drawback for variable structure systems. To decrease this problem, a saturation function is used to limit chattering effects. A Luenberger observer based on fuzzy logic adaptation mechanism is designed for speed estimation. Numerical simulation results of the proposed scheme illustrate the good performance of sensorless induction motor and the robustness against load torque disturbances.

Abstract:In order to achieve high reliability and control precision of multiple induction motors drive systems, a fuzzy sliding mode control (FSMC)-based synchronization control strategy is proposed by combining the FSMC technique with the ring coupling synchronization structure. Also, a fuzzy controller is utilized as a switching control part of the FSMC to attenuate chattering phenomena despite large uncertainties that exist in practical applications. Moreover, the stability analysis of the proposed control strategy is derived by Lyapunov stability theorem. The proposed FSMC-based synchronization scheme possesses several attractive advantages of simple control framework, high control precision, strong robustness to uncertainties, and chattering elimination. Furthermore, the performance of the proposed control strategy is investigated on a four induction motors driving system. The numerical simulation results clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed FSMC based synchronization strategy for multiple induction motors drive at different operating conditions, and its superiority is indicated by comparison with proportional integral (PI) control and conventional SMC.

Abstract:This paper studies the nonlinear control method for hydraulic excavating robot, which is a highly nonlinear variable structure system. Hence variable gain sliding mode control method with fuzzy boundary layer is proposed. Firstly, the nonlinear variable structure system model of excavator dipper is set up, and a fuzzy logic is prevented to adjust sliding mode boundary layer. Then, a variable gain is used to adapt the flow rate difference between two sides of cylinder. The variable gain SMC with fuzzy boundary layer is designed to drive the system into sliding surface in finite time and the asymptotical stability property is guaranteed. The results of simulation show that fuzzy boundary layer can get better performance and the variable gain makes controller obtain expected response both in extending and intending of cylinder.

Abstract:A slip frequency vector-controlled system is not robust because it needs accurate mathematical model of the motor and it traditionally uses the PID method. By applying regular fuzzy control, the system's robustness can be improved, but the steady-state precision is lowered. This paper introduces a self-adjusting fuzzy speed controller in a slip frequency vector-controlled system. It can not only enhance the robustness of the system, but also improve the steady-state precision and dynamic performance. A simulation example is also presented

Abstract:This study mainly deals with the key problem of chattering phenomena on the conventional sliding-mode control (SMC) and investigates an adaptive fuzzy sliding-mode control (AFSMC) system for an indirect field-oriented induction motor (IM) drive to track periodic commands. First, an indirect field-orientation method for an IM drive is introduced briefly. Moreover, a fuzzy logic inference mechanism is utilized for implementing a fuzzy hitting control law to remove completely the chattering phenomena on the conventional SMC. In addition, to confront the uncertainties existed in practical applications, an adaptive algorithm, which is derived in the sense of Lyapunov stability theorem, is utilized to adjust the fuzzy parameter for further assuring robust and optimal control performance. The indirect field-oriented IM drive with the AFSMC scheme possesses the salient advantages of simple control framework, free from chattering, stable tracking control performance, and robust to uncertainties. Furthermore, numerical simulation and experimental results due to periodic sinusoidal commands are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy, and its advantages are indicated in comparison with the conventional SMC system and the SMC system with a boundary layer.

Abstract:A self -adjusting fuzzy controller was designed to improve the performance of vector -controlled systems during parameter variations and load disturbances. The controller adjusts the fuzzy rule base by adjusting the fuzzy controller parameters and the weights of each input variable. The self -adjusting fuzzy controller was used as the speed controller of a slip frequency vector -controlled induction motor drive. Simulation and experimental results show that the system improves the fuzzy controller's steady -state precision and dynamic performance and is very robust.

Abstract:Since the vehicle longitudinal dynamic system inherently has non-linear and time-varying behaviour, it is a challenging work to design an effective automatic speed control strategy to handle the unknown nonlinearities and uncertain parameters. In this paper, a novel adaptive fuzzy sliding automatic speed controller with variable boundary layer for intelligent vehicles is proposed; the control gains and the boundary layer thicknesses of the sliding mode speed controller are adaptively tuned by fuzzy logic simultaneously. Additionally, the stability of the proposed closed-loop automatic speed control system is guaranteed by the Lyapunov theory, and the switching criterion between the throttle and brake actuators is introduced. Finally, the performance of the proposed control scheme is evaluated by simulation and experimental tests, and the results illustrate that the proposed scheme can achieve good tracking performance.

Abstract:Aimed at meeting the control requirements of aero-engine under wide operation conditions, four different adaptive fuzzy slid-ing mode control methods were studied in this paper.Fuzzy control was applied to design the switching mode logic, and adaptation laws were used to adjust the center of fuzzy set as working environment changed.The control effect was tested at linear steady-state points of the aero-engine model and the tracking performance was compared in simulation.The analysis indicates that the indirect AFSMC and the AFSMC using three fuzzy rules obtain a faster system response and smaller overshoot, stronger tracking ability.Therefore these AFSMC methods achieve better integrated controlling performance.
