Abstract:Objective To study the impact of different astigmatism axial incisions on refractory error after cataract surgery. Methods We collected 60 cases of cataract patients and randomly divided them into group A and group B. Each group had 30 eyes. Group A patients underwent 3. 2 mm corneal astigmatism axial incisions guided by Orbscan. Group B patients received double axial incisions. The same physician conducted all surgeries. We observe the postoperative changes of corneal astigmatism between two groups. Results The Polar K results on 2 weeks and 3 months were significantly different to those before surgery in group A. The 3. 2mm corneal astigmatism axial incision reduced about 0. 23 of Polar K. In group B,the Polar K results on 2 weeks,1 month and 3 months also exhibited significant difference to those before the surgery. Two astigmatism axial incisions reduced about 0. 34 of Polar K. There was no significant difference in Polar K Results between two groups at any time point. Conclusion Both 3. 2mm corneal astigmatism axial incision and double axial incisions can partly correct corneal astigmatism on patient whose corneal Polar K is about 0. 9. But there is little difference between the two incision methods.
