Abstract:The kinematics analysis of a novel 3-DOF parallel manipulator was investigated.Based on the motion constraint equation of the 3-PCR parallel manipulator,the inverse displacement solutions of the parallel manipulator were presented.Then the forward displacement solutions were obtained via Bezout's elimination method,and some numerical examples were given in order to prove the correctness of the inverse and forward displacement solutions.The models of velocity and acceleration relationships between three output motions and three input parameters were discussed,the forward and inverse solutions of velocity and acceleration were given.At last,the planning trajectory was verified through examples and simulation.

Abstract:In this paper, the mathematical model of the posture inverse kinematics is established. According to the structure of 2DOF parallel manipulator, the simulation model of mechanism is built using the Matlab/SimMechanics. The kinematics simulation of the parallel manipulator is obtained and confirmed correct. With the Virtual Reality Toolbox, the virtual reality of the parallel manipulator is carried out. During the simulation, the motion animate is obtained. It indicates that Matlab/Simulink can greatly reduce the designer’s work and provide a powerful and convenient tool for the simulation and analysis of parallel manipulators. Abstract:Recently the parallel manipulators with less DOF have attracted the researchers, but works on their dynamics are relative few. In this paper, an inverse dynamic formulation is presented by the Newton-Euler approach for a spatial parallel manipulator, which has two translational degrees of freedom and one rotational degree of freedom. The inverse kinematics analysis is firstly performed in closed form. Then the force and moment equilibrium equations for the manipulator are presented. According to the kinematic constraints of the legs and the platform, some joint constraint forces are eliminated and an algorithm to solve the actuator forces is given. In addition, ADAMS is used to perform the kinematic and dynamic simulation for the manipulator. The simulation results are compared to those derived from algebraic formulae and the comparison shows the validity of the mathematical model.

Abstract:A kinematics simulation for the anthropomorphic manipulator is completed in the paper based on Pro/E and the automatic dynamic analysis of mechanical systems (ADAMS). First Pro/E software (Pro-Engineer) is used to establish 3d entity model of the anthropomorphic manipulator. Then the 3d entity model is imported into the automatic dynamic analysis of mechanical systems. Thirdly the kinematics simulation analysis of anthropomorphic manipulator is carried out, which provides the position, velocity, acceleration curves of anthropomorphic manipulator finger joints. This is a method to clarify the effectiveness of the design for anthropomorphic manipulator.

Abstract:The kinematics analysis of the 3-PCR parallel robot mechanism with 3-DOF was carried out.Based on the motion constraint equation of the mechanism,the analytic expression of the position solution of the mechanism was established.Through composite motion analysis of points,the relationships between the control members of the mechanism and the velocity and acceleration of the mobile platform,and expressed in the form of explicit function.by means of the assembly model of the mechanism created by using UG and the ADAMS simulation,the planned motion track was verified.

Abstract:To analyse dynamics characteristics of parallel robot, virtual prototype technology was employed to conduct the dynamics simulation of 3-TPT parallel robot. Using the soft of Pro/Engineer, a 3D substance model of 3-TPT parallel robot was established. Then the model was imported to ADAMS by dint of Mechanism/Pro, the interface module for Pro/E and ADAMS, and a virtual prototype model of 3-TPT parallel robot was established. According to the structural characteristics of the robot, the driving rod and the restricting kinematics link were simulated. And the dynamics characteristics discipline of the 3-TPTparallel robot was obtained. Virtual prototype technology is a better way to study the dynamics of parallel robot and can provide the reference for the complex dynamics of mechanical problems.

Abstract:The primary goal of this research is dynamics modeling and frequency analysis of a 3-RRS spatial parallel manipulator with flexible links.Firstly,a new model of spatial flexible beam element was proposed.Then,the dynamics equations of all serial sub-chains of the parallel manipulator were derived based on the finite element theory,kineto elastodynamics(KED) analysis method and Lagrange equations.The dynamics model of the complete system was obtained through the application of constraint conditions of the legs and the movable platform.Based on the dynamics model,the relation of the natural frequencies and design parameters of this mechanism were studied through numerical simulation.From the simulation results,the natural frequencies are relatively sensitive to the sectional parameters,structure size and characteristic parameters of material on mechanisms.

Abstract:By analyzing the working principles of forging manipulators,a virtual prototyping heavy-duty manipulator system is developed using ADAMSTM.Upon completion of dynamical analysis,the manipulator loading curve is obtained under typical working conditions.With consideration of driving forces,large inertia components,flexible parts and additional overturn moments,this approach provides a theoretical and numerical basis on manipulator structural design.

Abstract:The Gough-Stewart platform has been successfully used in a wide variety of fields ranging from medical to automotive applications. This paper proposes a 6-RRRPRR parallel manipulator with orthogonal non-intersecting RR-joint configurations and ball screw actuators without guide mechanisms. A novel methodology is developed to define the dependent RR-joint variables and a numerical algorithm is employed to calculate the joint variables. The parasitic motion caused by the helical motion of the ball screw can be expressed and solved with vector method. The inverse kinematics of this manipulator can be solved. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach, simulations are performed with software package ADAMS. A prototype of this manipulator is manufactured. Its resolution, accuracy, and repeatability are measured. It is shown that the presented method is effective for this parallel manipulator.

Abstract:During the semi-physical simulation experiment of unmanned vehicle,taking into account the features of high precision requirement to motion simulation system,a modified three degrees of freedom parallel manipulator based on the 3-RPS parallel manipulator is proposed.In comparison with the 3-RPS parallel manipulator,because the forces along the spinning shafts of the actuators in 3-RPS parallel manipulator are undertaken by the passive constraints of the modified parallel manipulator,the mechanical properties of the actuators are improved.The kinematic equations are established according to the structure of this parallel manipulator.The dynamic equations of the moving platform are formulated based on the Newton-Euler method.In the light of the principle of moment equilibrium,a force which is perpendicular to the actuator and its spinning shaft is worked out,and a force which is perpendicular to the upper part of the passive constraint and its spinning shaft is also worked out.According to the principle of power balance,a force along the upper part of the passive constraint is calculated.The driving forces of the actuators and the forces along the spinning shafts of the passive constraints can be obtained finally.This calculation method sheds light on dynamics calculation of lower mobility parallel manipulators.

Abstract:Based on the structure theory of parallel robot mechanism and the units of the single-opened-chain limb,it synthesizes a new 4-DOF parallel robot mechanism with 3-translation and 1-rotation.The 3D parametric model of the new 3P-1R parallel mechanism is established in CAXA system.The virtual prototype of the 3P-1R parallel mechanism is constructed in ADAMS.The kinematics simulation of this prototype is realized.Good coincidence between simulation results and theoretic calculated values proves that the virtual prototype of the 3P-1R parallel mechanism is reliable and the kinematics simulation results are credible.

Abstract:Based on the build-up principle of the parallel manipulator with single-opened-chain as its units,a new type 3P-1R parallel mechanism is provided.The 3D model of the parallel mechanism is established with the help of CAXA and the motion simula- tion of virtual prototype of this mechanism is implemented with the help of ADAMS.The result shows that the motion law of the moving platform of the 3P-1R parallel mechanism conforms to the theoretical calculation.There is a high reliability in motion simulation.

Abstract:Recently the parallel manipulator with less DOFs has attracted industry and academia, but the research on its dynamics is still an open problem. In this paper, the inverse dynamic of a spatial parallel manipulator with two translational degrees of freedom and one rotational degree of freedom is studied based on the Newton-Euler approach. The kinematics analysis is firstly performed in a closed form. The inverse dynamic equation of this manipulator is formulated by using the Lagrange multiplier approach and choosing the Cartesian position and orientation as the generalized coordinates. Finally a numerical example is given for the kinematic and dynamic simulation of this manipulator. The model will be useful to improve the design of the mechanical components and the control algorithm. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Abstract:In order to achieve visualization of motion planning of 3-PRRU parallel manipulator,the inverse solution of the 3-PRRU parallel mechanism is formulated by using the theory of kinematics of the parallel mechanism,then the movement trajectories of the end of the tool fixed on movable platform of the parallel mechanism is deduced.The virtual prototype of this mechanism is created in SolidWorks software,and the Kinematics is simulated with COSMOSMotion software integrated on SolidWorks.The result of simulation verifies the correctness of theoretical analysis and supplies the frame of reference for trajectory planning and structural optimization.

Abstract:The parallel manipulators with n6 spherical joint-prismatic joint-spherical joint（SPS） type active limbs and one passive constrained limb have attracted more attention and been used in many practical applications.The 4-SPS /S parallel manipulator was proposed and used to simulate ship swaying motion in the sea.Real mobility property of the 4-SPS /S parallel manipulator was analyzed by using screw theory.The inverse position kinematics model and the differential motion characteristics of the SPS active limbs and moving platform were established by coordinating rotation matrix transformation and vector derivative.The analytical solution of forward position kinematics was established by rod length constraint equations and Sylvester resultant elimination.The result of simulation and analysis showed that the parallel manipulator has four forward position solutions including two real solutions and two imaginary solutions,and the algorithm of forward position solution is correct.

Abstract:A kinetostatic model and a dynamics model of a parallel manipulator (PM) with three grippers are established and analyzed in the light of its application. First, the coordinative kinematics of this manipulator and three grippers are analyzed. Second, the kinetostatic formulae are derived for transforming the coordinative kinematics and forces applied on the grippers into the workloads applied on the moving platform and the active/constrained forces and torques applied onto active legs. Third, the dynamics formulae are derived for solving dynamic active wrench of grippers and PM by considering inertial mass of the grippers, legs and platform. Finally, a numerical example is given for illustrating application of kinetostatic model and dynamics formulae, and the dynamics solutions of this manipulator are verified by simulation.

Abstract:This paper focuses on the kinematic analysis of a novel 3-DOFs parallel manipulator. This parallel manipulator is a modified version of the well-known Tricept robot, achieved by making two of the three active limbs and the passive limb coplanar. The inverse kinematic problem is solved and the velocity equation is given.
