Abstract:A hydrothermal vent system is one of the most unique marine environments on Earth. The cycling hydrothermal fluid hosts favorable conditions for unique life forms and novel mineralization mechanisms, which have attracted the interests of researchers in fields of biological, chemical and geological studies. Shallow-water hydrothermal vents located in coastal areas are suitable for hydrothermal studies due to their close relationship with human activities. This paper presents a summary of the developments in exploration and detection methods for shallow-water hydrothermal systems. Mapping and measuring approaches of vents, together with newly developed equipment, including sensors, measuring systems and water samplers, are included. These techniques provide scientists with improved accuracy, efficiency or even extended data types while studying shallow-water hydrothermal systems. Further development of these techniques may provide new potential for hydrothermal studies and relevant studies in fields of geology, origins of life and astrobiology.

Abstract:With the rapid economic development in recent years, people’s demand for resources is gradually increasing. Mineral resources and security have become a relatively big problem today. Therefore, researchers have made more changes to geophysical exploration technology. For in-depth research, the reality is always difficult. Sometimes even if the depth of the mine continues to increase, it is difficult to find the mineral sources we need. Geophysical exploration is based on advanced technologies and methods for basic geological research and mineral resources. Exploration provides a series of basic data and is also used in the fields of water, engineering, and environmental protection. However, it has certain limitations. Only under certain conditions can there be corresponding results, especially in Played a great role in geological prospecting. Up to now, my country has achieved remarkable results in resource exploration in the field of geophysical prospecting. The thesis is based on the application of geophysical prospecting technology and the main application of geophysical prospecting methods.

Abstract:It is found in our previous work that there are certain minerals with a nature grain size between nano- and sub-micrometer. In some areas, these minerals with high purity accumulated in industry scale, such as the polygorskite occurred in Jiangsu and Anhui, the halloysite found in Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan, part of the Quaternary sedimentary kaolinite in Guangxi, and the manganese nodules throughout the deep ocean. Their scientific significance and economic importance has not yet been paid enough attention. From this point of view, they can be classified as unconventional mineral resources. For that there is no special content on the nature nano-minerals in any classic works of economic geology, relevant research is rather creative, especially the study on the geological genesis of nature nano-minerals, which is one of the most challenging matter in modern metallization theory. Differ- ing from conventional metallic and non-metallic ore deposits, the economic importance of the accumulation of nature nano- sub-micrometer minerals depends on their micro-structural features, i.e., if they possess the so-called properties of quanta-size effect and surface-interface effects, the same as their artificial counterpart. New methods for characterization, new ideals for applications, and the utilization of high-tech equipments in ore geology and mineralogy are all important factors for comprehensively recognizing and realizing the resource value of the accumulation of nature nano minerals.

Abstract:For the purpose of improving the efficiency and precision of the mineral reserves evaluation, it is essential to establish the Geological exploration and evaluation system of mineral deposit. This paper expatiates the architecture of the geological exploration and evaluation system of mineral deposit, describes the main functions of this system, and applies it to the geological exploration evaluation of an iron deposit in Benxi city of Liaoning province. The geological exploration and evaluation system of mineral deposit comprises three sub-systems. They are: database and its management sub-system, mapping sub-system and mineral reserves evaluation sub-system. The main functions of this system includes the input and edit, information query and retrieval, mineral deposit reserves evaluation and visual output.

Abstract:Heap leaching in gold mines is an important mineral-processing method. However, it involves higher requirements of the integrity and stability of the site strata because it can cause great harm to the environment. In particular, hidden faults and fault-zone structures in the site strata are important factors causing pollutant leakage and damage to the environment. Hence, engineering drilling is generally used to identify hidden faults and fault zones to intuitively reveal the underground information in a limited depth range; the disadvantage is the high cost and low efficiency of this method. In this study, comprehensive geophysical exploration methods were adopted to analyze the geophysical characteristics of the hidden faults and fault zones to obtain considerable underground information efficiently to evaluate the exploration site. Methods such as the electrical resistivity tomography, shallow seismic reflection method, magnetic method, and vertical electric sounding method have been used for the heap-leaching site exploration of Alxa Zhula Gold Mine to identify the location, occurrence, and morphological characteristics. Based on borehole and geological data, the possibility of disaster for the defective geological structure in the heap-leaching field of a gold mine was evaluated, and a geological structure model was established in this study. Thus, the results represent an important example of environmental geophysical exploration.

Therefore, it is widely promoted and applied, especially in engineering survey work. This article studies the importance of geophysical prospecting in engineering exploration, the methods of geophysical prospecting technology, the application of geophysical prospecting technology, and the development trend of geophysical prospecting technology. Abstract:A large number of georeferenced quantitative data about rock and geoscience surveys are buried in geological documents and remain unused. Data analytics and information extraction offer opportunities to use this data for improved understanding of ore forming processes and to enhance our knowledge. Extracting spatiotemporal and semantic information from a set of geological documents enables us to develop a rich representation of the geoscience knowledge recorded in unstructured text written in Chinese. This paper presents the workflow for spatiotemporal and semantic information extraction, which is a geological document analysis approach that uses automated techniques for browsing and searching relevant geological content. The developed workflow applies spatial and temporal gazetteer matching, pattern-based rules and spatiotemporal relationship extraction to identify and label terms in geological text documents. It offers a representation of contextual information in knowledge graph form, extracts a set of relevant tables and figures, and queries a list of relevant documents by using geological topic information. Here, text mining techniques are used to facilitate the analysis of geological knowledge and to show the effectiveness of text analysis for improving the rapid assessment of a massive number of documents. Furthermore, autogenerated keyword suggestions derived from extracted keyword associations are used to reduce document search efforts. This research illustrates the usefulness and effectiveness of the developed information extraction workflow and demonstrates the potential of incorporating text mining and NLP techniques for geoscience.

Abstract:In recent years, more and more mines have been left idle, and the formed mine wasteland has become a visual pollution of the urban landscape, and the study of landscape design of mine parks has become a focal topic. To address this issue, the sample of this study was selected from Xuzhou Anran Mountain Quarry Abandoned Quarry, to enhance the ecological environment and landscape value of the site through the sample's naturalistic style design and performance. The goal of the study is to explore the innovative design and performance of naturalistic style in the landscape of Xuzhou abandoned quarry park. Methods of this study: observation forms, questionnaires and interview forms, relevant cases and other research methods were used to analyse the overview of mine transformation in China, the landscape characteristics, ecological status and problems of Xuzhou mine wasteland. The design strategy of naturalistic style in the landscape of Xuzhou mine park is proposed.The results of the study show that (1) mine rehabilitation. China's big cities have more mine rehabilitation, and the proportion of cases in small cities is relatively small. (2) Characteristic aspects. Abandoned mines in Xuzhou are characterised by serious ecological damage and chaotic and dilapidated site landscapes. (3) Design strategy. It should be carried out from the ecological restoration and management of the site environment, the aesthetic expression of naturalistic landscape, and the use of natural elements and natural materials. In addition, through the in-depth analysis of the sample landscape design, the originally desolate abandoned mine was transformed into a naturalistic style landscape space, adopting ecological and cultural strategies. The results of the study contribute to the ecological and economic development of the region, and also provide theoretical and practical guidance for the rehabilitation of other mines in China.

Abstract:With respect to the serious environment problems of coal mining, a new concept of green mining is proposed. The goal is to maximize the economic and social benefits. The technical framework of green mining includes water-preservation in mining areas, coal mining to retard surface subsidence, simultaneous extraction of coal and coal-bed methane, reduction of rock waste, underground coal gasification, and others. The natural climate in Northwest in China is very odious, and its geological condition is very complex. The precipitation is less and concentrated. Drought and water logging in the area are very usual to see, and the eco-system is very weak. Water resources in the area are limited. The eco-environment problems such as desertification, loss of soil, mud-rock flow, earth slide, land degeneration and decrease of cultivation area are quite common in the area. In the meantime disorder exploitation of coal mine in the area has made the geological environment and ecology system more fragile. Based on analyzing the problems in detail, his paper puts forward green mining in the areas.

Abstract:Along with the economic development and the productivity continuous increase,former high concentrated management system of mineral resource exploration in China has exposed some limitation and abuse.Therefore,it is necessary to study on management system and operational mechanism of Chinese geological survey work.This paper analyzes the characteristics and law of geological work under the condition of market economy,and discusses the developmental trend of management system of geological work.Then it expounds the present condition and problems of management system and operational mechanism of Chinese geological survey work from the following aspects: the management relation,geological work organization and geological talent army construction,project management system,budget,finance,property management system etc.Finally,the authors point that it must adapt to objective law and bring the role of government into correct play to construct and perfect the management system and operational mechanism,and puts forward some suggestions for development model of China Geological Survey.

Abstract:The identification of water sources and hydraulic connectivity in different aquifers within coal mines is crucial for effective groundwater management and has important implications for mine safety, water resource conservation, and regional ecological protection. The Dongming opencast coal mine in Hailar City, Inner Mongolia, China, is threatened by groundwater leakage. However, the hydrochemical mechanisms, water sources, and hydraulic connectivity of the different aquifers in this area are still not well understood. In this study, we collected 24 samples from various water sources, including pore water in the Quaternary aquifer (QGW), pore-fissure water in the coal-bearing aquifer (CGW), drainage sump water from the mine pit (DSW), Morigele river water (MRW), and nearby snow water (SNW). These samples were analyzed for major and trace elements, as well as hydrogen (H), oxygen (O), and boron (B) isotope compositions. The results showed that the QGW and MRW hydrochemistry were similar, while the CGW and DSW had comparable characteristics. The H and O isotope analyses revealed that all of the groundwater samples originated from river water, while the B isotope analyses indicated the heterogeneous hydraulic connectivity between the different aquifers and the river. The research findings indicate that mining companies should continuously strengthen the monitoring of surface water and groundwater levels, further investigate the velocity and direction of groundwater flow, and gradually conduct quantitative research on hydraulic connections between surface water and different aquifers. This will provide more scientific basis for the prevention and control of groundwater leakage in mining areas. In this study, a combination of hydrochemical and non-traditional stable isotope geochemical methods was used to investigate the origin of groundwater in open-pit coal mines and its relationship with different water bodies. This represents a new exploration of research ideas and methods. This work has important implications for the study of the origin of groundwater and the measures for leakage prevention and control in open-pit coal mines and underground coal mines worldwide.

Abstract:The scarcity of water resources and environmental pollution in the coal mining areas of western China severely restricts high-quality mine development and construction there. Treating mine water as a valuable unconventional water resource for large-scale processing and efficient utilization is a crucial approach. This paper discusses the current status of mine water treatment technology in this region and provides a systematic comparison and analysis of common and emerging treatment technologies for mine water containing suspended solids, high salinity, and fluoride. The paper extensively elaborates on the fundamental principles, process routes, and technical features of these technologies, citing typical engineering cases. It also outlines the challenges that mine water treatment in the coal mining areas of western China is likely to face in the future. Based on the current status of mine water resource utilization in China, various pathways forward are clarified. Finally, this paper presents a scientific reflection and proposed solutions for mine water treatment technology and resource utilization in the coal mining areas of western China, concluding with a prospective outlook on the future development of this field.
