Optimizing Antenna Radiation Efficiency Using N-Port Networks

Abstract:In this work, a method is proposed for enhancing the radiation efficiencies of ultra-thin cell phone antennas. The proposed method incorporates the concept of N-port network and employs the NSGA-II algorithm to strategically optimize the status of the loads at the ports. The effectiveness of the approach is demonstrated by improving the antenna efficiencies at the GSM 900 band, with the commonly used inverted-F antenna (IFA) serving as a representative example.
