Abstract:Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) is a remarkable non-invasive neuroimaging technique that utilizes optical signals to detect fluctuations in hemoglobin concentration in the shallow tissues of the human body. This technique has broad-ranging applications in the monitoring of brain-computer interfaces, and has become one of the most widely-used brain monitoring methods in daily life scenarios, owing to the fact that the brain exhibits diverse responses to varied neural activities in different regions. But the existing equipment, while effective, lacks portability. Therefore, a multi-channel portable fNIRS system is required for effective brain monitoring. This article puts forth a proposal for a distributed multi-channel near-infrared system, which utilizes three distinct wavelengths of near-infrared light (750nm, 800nm, 850nm) and two photodiodes, to enhance signal sampling accuracy. Furthermore, the system employs a CAN bus to guarantee high data quality and real-time performance, and the algorithm we have designed is capable of optimizing channels to enhance wearability and improve data analysis results. Through long-term test based on mental arithmetic(MA), we demonstrate that the system can precisely capture changes in brain oxygenation in the prefrontal area, and accurately analyze the real-time status of the subjects.
