Investigation of TCM Syndromes of Active Duodenal Ulcer in Part of Fujian Area

Abstract:[Objective] To investigate TCM syndromes of the active duodenal ulcer(DU) in the centre and south of Fujian province to provide the evidence for the research and clinical treatment of DU.[Methods] Three hundred and thirty-two active DU patients were selected as subjects in the research.Electronic gastroscope was used to diagnose active DU(A1.A2) and prompt urease test and ~(14)C-breath test were used to diagnose Hp infection.[Results]One hundred and sixty-eight cases were diagnosed as damp-heat syndrome,which occupied 50.60 %,and sixty-six cases as asthenic cold syndrome,occupied 19.88 %;forty cases as stagnant heat syndrome,occupied 12.05 %;forty-three cases as qi stagnation syndrome,occupied 12.95 %;fifteen cases as blood stagnation syndrome,occupied 4.50 % and none were diagnosed as yin deficiency syndrome.There was no significant difference between Hp infection or not.No significant difference was found between simple active DU cases and those combined with gastritis when comparing their syndromes(P0.05).[Conclusion]Syndromes of active DU are mostly heat syndrome, asthenic cold syndrome and qi stagnation syndrome.Hp infection or not is not closely related to the active DU syndromes.Syndromes of simple active DU determine those of active DU combined with gastritis.
