Abstract:T helper 17(Th17) cells,a newly classified T cell subset,characterized by the production of IL-17,play crucial roles in the defense of extracellular bacterial infections,the mediated chronic inflammation and the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases.Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) is an autoimmune disease,whose key pathogenic factor is immune regulation disturbance.Evidences suggest that Th17 and its effectors play an important role in the pathogenesis of IBD.Thus further investigation of Th17 could reveal the pathogenesis of related diseases and guide the clinical treatment.
