Abstract:4,4'-dinitrodiphenyl sulfone was obtained by using 4-chloronitrobenzene,sodium sulfide and concentrated nitric acid as raw materials,tetrabutylammonium bromide as catalyst to conduct substitution reaction and oxidation reaction respectively while related condition of the reactions was optimized and selected as following: the molar ratio of 4-chloronitrobenzene and sodium sulfide was 1.8∶1;the reaction period was 3 hours;and the reaction temperature was 85 ℃.Meanwhile,the period of the oxidation reaction was 6 hours,and the oxidation reaction temperature was 100 ℃,the total yield of 4,4'-dinitrodiphenyl sulfone was 71.2% as well as its purity was 98.9%.The structures of the intermediate and the aimed compound were confirmed by IR and HNMR.The procedure was characterized by cheap and available raw materials,being operated easily,low cost and high yield,so it was positively available to be industrialized.
