Abstract:As a newly rising economic power, China is considered to have a huge job market. However, many graduates in China experience substantial pressure in getting a job upon graduation, as a university degree is no longer a "golden ticket" to employment. In this study, we aim to understand the underlying factors that influences fine arts graduates' perceived employability, by incorporating the human capital theory and self-determination theory. Using an online survey, data was collected from 430 final year fine arts students from Guangxi, China. The findings showed that self-directed learning and career adaptability positively impacts perceived employability. While these relationships are found stronger when if graduates continue to receive advice and assistance from their lecturers. Altogether, these outcomes offer several implications that useful for academics and practitioners to manage employability issues more effectively.

Abstract:College graduates' employment has always been generally corcerned by all circles in the society,which is not only directly related to the country's economic construction,social stability and people's fundamental interests,but also related to higher education's sustained,rapid and sound development.Since the global financial crisis broke out,College graduates' employment has been seriously challenged.At present,for the college employment department,it is the primary task to handle the graduates' employment trend,to analyse the employment situation,and to study the employment countermeasure. A Practical Example on Enhancing Employability and Entrepreneurship in Institutions of Higher Education in China

Abstract:Challenged by the severe graduation employment dilemma, the employability and entrepreneurship for student has become a core concern in Chinese higher education. This paper firstly shows the impact on the job market from the social economic development and higher educational structure transformation of the country. Then the problems in the talents cultivation system in Chinese institutions of higher education: gap between graduates supplies and social demands, lack of training in core competitiveness, and lack of systematic operation.are discussed. As a practical example, Ningbo Institute of Technology (NIT) Zhejiang University, China is shown as enhancing students’ employability and entrepreneurship effectively. With fully awareness of the bottlenecks impeding the enhancement of students’ employability and entrepreneurship, NIT has reformed the pattern of talents cultivation to meet local industrial requirements, and built a comprehensive and long-run guidance system for enhancing employability and entrepreneurship, so as to coordinate the graduates supply with social needs. Some suggestions for Chinese higher education institutions to enhance students’ employability and entrepreneurship are put forward in this paper.

Abstract:Employment is the foundation of people's livelihood, and youth employment is the top priority in employment. It is another graduation season for college students. After graduation, college students choose between "employment" and "continue further study". The employment of college students has always been a hot issue of social concern. In 2022, Chinese college graduates broke through the 10 million mark for the first time, setting a new record high. According to the current employment situation of college students, taking college students in Shandong, China as an example, this paper analyzes the main problems in the graduation planning and employment of college students, and puts forward countermeasures to improve the employment rate of college students from different levels. In order to alleviate the employment anxiety of college students, carry out employment guidance in colleges and universities, and establish the correct employment concept of college students. Abstract:In the context of rapid economic and social changes in China in recent years, the relation between higher education and employment has become an increasingly critical issue. The rapid expansion of the graduate flow into the job market has deteriorate employment conditions for the new graduates. This article explores current state and problems of employment conditions for the graduates from the private higher education sector, who are faced with more serious employment challenges. Can they survive the intense competitions? What is their employment choice mechanism? Is there a niche job market for them, and if yes what are its characteristics? This article examine these questions based on the data collected from a questionnaire survey “Survey of Graduates in the Post-secondary Education”, which was conducted in June 2003, with the sampling size of 1624 students from Zhejiang, Fijian, Shanghai, Liaoning.

Abstract:Based on a national scale survey of 30 universities in 8 Chinese provinces in 2011,this empirical study shows that although there are lots of policies encouraging college graduates to work in the grassroots,the number of students who really go there is small because of their concerns about career prospects,and they obviously have a tendency to flow to the east.Human resources,family and school background and job hunting issues are important factors affecting grassroots employment of college graduates and the students who are willing to work in grass roots are always in weak position.This article also indicates that occupational status,matching level,starting salary and job satisfaction of those graduates are relatively low.

Abstract:Based on employment pressure, this paper studies the impacts on college graduates, to find the source of employment pressure and propose measures suitable for college students to solve the employment pressure. The research mainly adopts the questionnaire survey method. The subjects are some students of Shandong Technology and Business University. Through the form of partial sampling questionnaires, the source and impact of employment pressure are found. The research found that most students face serious employment pressure psychology, but the employment pressure has not only passive effects but also some positive effects. Unequal ability and self-mentality are significant reasons for college students' difficulty in choosing jobs and employment pressure. To change this situation, the top priority is to change the employment concept of college students. Establishing a correct concept of job selection can effectively solve this problem, at the same time, promote full employment in various industries. It is also expected that this thesis can play a definite reference value to the current employment pressure situation.

Abstract:Using the post-graduates' employment of T University as a case,this paper investigates the relationship between the post-graduates' participation in employment-oriented social practice and their final employment areas empirically.The empirical results show that,after controlling for other factors,students' participation in employment-oriented social practice during the study period will significantly improve the probability of their final choice to work in the northeast,central and western regions after their graduation.This supports the scope of career guidance of the universities extended from graduate students to other grades even freshmen will help to alleviate the structural imbalance of graduate employment.
