Abstract:[Objective]To explore the antioxidant effect on liver injury in mice of different sex.[Methods]Male mice and female mice were equivalent. They were divided into control group, model group, different dose groups of magnesium, vitamin E group and their combination group, feeding for 9 days.On the tenth day control groups were administered soya-bean oil intraperitoneally, the other groups were administered 0.15% CCl4(soya-bean oil as solvent)at the level of 10 ml/kg body weight. After 12 hours they were fasted. After 24 hours,ALT,AST levels in serum and MDA,GSH and SOD content in the liver tissue were determined.[Results]There were differences in the activities of ALT,AST and SOD between male mice and female mice(P﹤0.01-0.05).In control group, the MDA content in female mice was lower compared with male mice(P﹤0.01).Magnesium and vitamin E could make differences in AST,MDA,GSH and SOD between female mice and male mice statistically.[Conclusion]There are differences in protective effects against chemical liver injuries and antioxidation between male and female mice.
