Abstract:One of the most important ways to solve the traffic obstacles in cities of our country is the fast developing underground.So is the efficient design of instruction to the convenience and high speed of underground.Traditional function of instruction relies on sign system.However,by researches,we found the passengers who frequently take underground rely on the old acknowledge instead of sign system to identify the space and lead them.The article raises the new method to solve this kind of perplex of passengers through non-sign system.By experiments and further analysis,the article discoveries some instructions and principles of design,which explains how to assist the instruction in underground by the decoration of subway stations.

Abstract:Nowadays, there is a strong demand for underground space development in China. Meanwhile, underground space utilization has shown the characteristics of high construction difficulty, long construction period, high cost, and complex social impacts. A systematic and reliable management system for underground space development has not yet been established. Therefore, it is urgent to carry out strategic study on the comprehensive management of underground space development from both theoretical and practical aspects. By analyzing the current situation of underground space development in China, the problems in the comprehensive management of underground space are discussed from the aspects of laws and regulations, high-level design, management system, geological survey, equipment, information resource, intelligent level, and comprehensive benefit. Furthermore, the development strategy and countermeasures for underground space development in China are proposed. Considering long-term strategic objectives and development principles, the future main tasks include the establishment of a comprehensive management system, improvement in management capacity, intelligentization of space management, and reinforcement of emergency response safety management. Specifically, a national unified coordination system needs to be established for underground space comprehensive management; relevant laws and regulations, standards, and regulatory evaluation systems should be improved; technologies and professionals should be encouraged for key equipment development; and urban underground space survey and information management should be promoted.

Abstract:The design of underground street in the central area of the city is not reversible, and the design of underground space that needs consummate consideration urgently should try hard to form three-dimensional integrated development with the city. The paper summarizes experience and deficiencies of the design from design background, design of underground street layout, elements of space design, evaluation and analysis by the case of the most representative Xiaobailou Langxiang Underground Street in Tianjin. It also forecasts problems that may need to be solved and development direction, then tries to provide reference for the design of underground space in the future.

Abstract:Abstract As the urbanization in China advances, urban underground spaces are vigorously developed through large-scale projects. However, the development of underground spaces often proceeds without prior scientific planning and design. City planners who fail to consider geo-environmental factors tend to design nonholistic blueprints that may cause serious problems. The development of an underground space is irreversible because underground resources are currently deemed highly valuable. Therefore, scientific planning must be conducted before the construction and launch of underground space projects. This study adopts a new concept of underground space planning and design and analyzes unfavorable geo-environmental factors, such as sand liquefaction and soft soil, which affect the development of underground spaces. The development mode of the underground space suitable for the geological environment in the study area is proposed. Based on the new concept of planning and design, this work considers a case study in Guangdong Province as a reference for the development mode, depth, and function of underground space in the study area. The findings of this study provide some new planning and design ideas for the development and utilization of underground spaces.

Abstract:This paper aims at proving that indirect orienting identification may increase the path finding efficiency and enhance effect on some specific orienting tasks by series of researches.We employ the semantic differential method to make a contrast research between the spaces with and without indirect oriented identification design.Obviously,the results demonstrate indirect oriented identification designs play an important role in achieving greater efficiency.With the increasing of user's familiarity with spaces,some different landmarks will become their steady and reliable orienting elements,while the dependency with general orienting systems gradually decreasing.Therefore,the paper puts forward some indirect orienting design techniques on the aspects of color,light,space,shape,decoration and style,as well as its systematical and standardized application.It also proposes that indirect orienting design should be carried out based on thorough-going investigations,and the design process should restrict indirect orienting elements,corresponding to the main special theme of the contexts.

Abstract:Underground space of central area is in the closed rock system. And there are many differences between underground and ground buildings in design and form. According to the five elements of urban images identified by Kevin Lynch, and by comparing the ground buildings and urban design method, this paper focus on studying the urban design method of double-decker city in central area in order to eliminate the lost feeling in underground street and enhance the systematic development of underground space. Then it proposes that underground space design should correspond to the ground city including “areas: theme design for space partition”, “nodes: underground space nodes creation”, “mark: peak point and center of underground space”, “boundary: interface design of underground space” and “Path: guiding system and visual system” to form stereoscopic correspondence for underground and ground space, build up the complete “double” city image system, as well provide services for the whole city.

Abstract:Underground space is extremely important for the compact and spatial intensive development of cities in the world. The gap of underground space between developing countries and developed countries comes from the immaturity of the market and institutional environment, which leads to an urgent demand for new urban governance theories to guide practice. Governments often pay attention to safety, while the market is business-oriented and focuses on commercial value which leads to a trade-off between them. This paper explores the safety and commerciality from the viewpoint of urban governance theory, and uses case studies of three underground space projects in Hangzhou, China, finds that the logic behind safety and commerciality choices is actually the logical relationship between the government and the market. It is concluded that a logical conversion from complete government-led to market-oriented and government-assisted is needed to resolve the imbalance between safety and commerciality. This paper criticizes the shortcomings of traditional planning theories on urban governance and subject research, incorporates the system and time dimensions into the framework of urban governance theory, and proposes a multiple governance mechanism which can integrate safety and commerciality as a means of maximizing socio-economic benefits.
