Abstract:This paper synthetically discussed the concept and the existing problems of the intensive urban land use in cities of China from the perspective of the information economy,and illustrated the reason for problems which occurred in the management with the theory of moral risk.Finally,in the light of the relationship of principal-agent——between the local authorities and the central government——in the intensive land use,the paper designed the goal of intensive land use of cities by means of profit-based method,thus eliminating the asymmetric information of the local government,and realizing the ultimate goal of intensive urban land use of the central government.
On the Price of Anarchy of Two-Stage Machine Scheduling Games

Abstract:We consider a scheduling game, in which both the machines and the jobs are players. Machines are controlled by different selfish agents and attempt to maximize their workloads by choosing a scheduling policy among the given set of policies, while each job is controlled by a selfish agent that attempts to minimize its completion time by selecting a machine. Namely, this game was done in two-stage. In the first stage, every machine simultaneously chooses a policy from some given set of policies, and in the second stage, every job simultaneously chooses a machine. In this work, we use the price of anarchy to measure the efficiency of such equilibria where each machine is allowed to use one of the at most two policies. We provide nearly tight bounds for every combination of two deterministic scheduling policies with respect to two social objectives: minimizing the maximum job completion, and maximizing the minimum machine completion time.
On Regional Equilibrium of Industrial Land Price and Management Strategy Based on Game Theory

Abstract:The prevailing low industrial land price policy being implemented throughout China in order to attract investment has caused a direct result of extensive industrial land use and may make the industrial distribution and regional production factor endowments inappropriate. Moreover, such land price policy will make the country’s overall industrial layout irrational and cause the industrial agglomeration degree to decline, thus affecting China’s industrial competitiveness in the international arena. In the developed coastal areas of China, the industrialization is in an accelerated stage. To curb the driving down of prices of industrial land transactions around China and promote the intensive utilization of land, the regional balance of industrial land price has become a research question to be answered immediately.By employing game theory and taking China’s developed coastal areas as the object of study, this paper makes model assumptions of the existing tax system and land expropriation. And introducing investment transfer coefficients and land price loss coefficients and assuming the different local governments as an insider, we build the local governments’ expectation to win the game theory model and analyze the model parameters for scenario analysis. Furthermore, the analysis shows the possibility interval of the local governments who may have adopted the normal premium strategy, low premium strategy and the mixed strategy. Finally combined with the relevant investigation cases, the application analysis of the model is laid on the basis of a regional industrial land management strategy which stressed that local governments should consider the social costs in the industrial land transactions and the system conditions needed for the industrial.

Abstract:The failure of strategy "Market in exchange for Technology" has brought significant change to the policy of FDI in China. Based on the quantification of Chinese FDI policy, this paper finds that: the core goals of Chinese FDI policy have been focused on the introduction of foreign capitals and technological innovation since 1978. The disillusion of Chinese glorious ideals is mainly because: (1) Chinese FDI policy has problems in itself, lack of technological absorption. (2) The policy can't be implemented effectively. Quantifying the goals of Chinese FDI policy, we make a profound game analysis on the related interest groups in the process of implementation. In this paper, it holds the hypotheses that the agents of government represent three levels: nation, department and political leader in charge of the department. During the implementation of policy, the impetus of competence among different agents is the resultant of forces of the three interests mentioned above. In addition, from the inherent demand for fair treatment, domestic enterprises tend to joint venture with foreign companies, regardless of the outcome. This "fiercer" joint venture in turn encourages the central government to issue more such policy and enforce the policy power, which causes the invalid policy to "self-enforcement". Ultimately, it leads to series invalid policies.
The Value of Government and the Efficiency of Noncooperative Equilibrium

Abstract:Taking the maximum joint payoff of a 2×2 matrix game as a measure of potential social welfare, one can compute a simple “value of government” based upon the difference between this maximum payoff and the joint payoff obtained in noncooperative equilibrium. We construct an efficiency loss index (ELI) as the expected value of this difference divided by the maximum joint payoff, and use the ELI to analyze the amount players would be willing to pay government (or some other third-party referee) to coordinate the outcome of the game either by changing its structure or by providing signals/contracts to coordinate behavior. This analysis is applied to random games with both known and unknown opponent payoffs. Abstract:The authors put forward that, with the help of game theory, the equili brium path about principal-agent problem is studied on the condition of perfect information, complete information and its asymmetry. Furthermore, the authorstry to find out the optimum choice and key equation for each side under pareto con ditions, meanwhile they draw out a conclusion that market mechanism imperfection and loss-of-credit will lead both sidesoff the correct path. The authors also points out that information asymmetry has great impact on principal-agent. And the perfect record of managers' credit and honesty and the encouragement of opera tors' devotion to their duties is the considerable solution to this problem.

Abstract:The game theory of microeconomics is one of the important analysis and decision-making tools for managing enterprises. Von Neumann discusses the zero-sum game of two people, while Nash discusses a broader range of games. This paper aims to explore the important concept of Nash Equilibrium in game theory. With the wide application of Nash Equilibrium in different fields such as economics, politics, psychology and machine learning, it is becoming increasingly important to understand and apply Nash Equilibrium. The author first introduces the concept and mathematical definition of Nash Equilibrium, and then takes the "Prisoner's Dilemma" game as an example to elaborate its application methods and significance in detail. Subsequently, the author discusses the limitations of Nash Equilibrium, including the inability to guarantee the maximum profit, and proposes corresponding solutions. Finally, the author explores the applications of Nash Equilibrium in different fields, as well as the prospects in machine learning and artificial intelligence fields.

Abstract:The inconsistency of predictions from solution concepts of conventional game theory with experimental observations is an enduring question. These solution concepts are based on the canonical rationality assumption that people are exclusively self-regarding utility maximizers. In this article, we think this assumption is problematic and, instead, assume that rational economic agents act as if they were maximizing their implicit utilities, which turns out to be a natural extension of the canonical rationality assumption. Implicit utility is defined by a player's character to reflect his personal weighting between cooperative, individualistic, and competitive social value orientations. The player who actually faces an implicit game chooses his strategy based on the common belief about the character distribution for a general player and the self-estimation of his own character, and he is not concerned about which strategies other players will choose and will never feel regret about his decision. It is shown by solving five paradigmatic games, the Dictator game, the Ultimatum game, the Prisoner's Dilemma game, the Public Goods game, and the Battle of the Sexes game, that the framework of implicit game and its corresponding solution concept, implicit equilibrium, based on this alternative assumption have potential for better explaining people's actual behaviors in social decision making situations.

Abstract:Game theory refers to the method in which one of the interacting parties obtains the decision-making information of the other party and uses it to influence the other party in turn. Therefore, game theory is also called "game theory". Game theory can be divided into cooperative game and non-cooperative game. In recent decades, the theory of game theory has developed rapidly with the establishment of John Nash and has been applied to many fields such as medical, engineering, military, and business. In this paper, the author starts from the basic definition of game theory and analyze the prisoner's dilemma, concordance fallacy, median voter theorem, Gounod model, Bertrand model, iterative deletion of dominated strategy, etc. through specific cases. The research results show that game theory has been widely used in the economy. For bilateral games, the results of Nash equilibrium are unstable. The research in this paper broadens the theory of game theory and has important practical significance for the application research of game theory.
The Reasons for the Governmental Failure in the Allocation of Industrial Land in China

Abstract:The purpose of the research is to analyze the reason that why industrial land is sold in a relatively cheap price and is allocated inefficiently regarding the governmental failure at different levels.Method used is the game theory to evaluate and test three viewpoints.The results show that with respect to the solution for a more reasonable land price and a better land use efficiency,neither the hypothesis that different municipalities strengthen their monopolized role in the land market and improve their techniques of supplying land,nor the assumption that central government promote a more strict administrative supervision and management was supported by the model analysis.A prominent finding is that the Price Floor Policy successfully helps to maintain a certain level of land price given by local government in the context of current institutions.The paper concludes that several drawbacks of the fundamental institution of the industrial land market are noticed,which cause the abnormally cheap industrial land price and low land use efficiency.A possible solution is that government should gradually leave land market more freedom and autonomy.Based on a market with a variety of land suppliers,the problems discussed in this research can be potentially solved.
Analysis of a Dynamic Voluntary Contribution Mechanism Public Good Game

Abstract:I present a dynamic, voluntary contribution mechanism, public good game and derive its potential outcomes. In each period, players endogenously determine contribution productivity by engaging in costly investment. The level of contribution productivity carries from period to period, creating a dynamic link between periods. The investment mimics investing in the stock of technology for producing public goods such as national defense or a clean environment. After investing, players decide how much of their remaining money to contribute to provision of the public good, as in traditional public good games. I analyze three kinds of outcomes of the game: the lowest payoff outcome, the Nash Equilibria, and socially optimal behavior. In the lowest payoff outcome, all players receive payoffs of zero. Nash Equilibrium occurs when players invest any amount and contribute all or nothing depending on the contribution productivity. Therefore, there are infinitely many Nash Equilibria strategies. Finally, the socially optimal result occurs when players invest everything in early periods, then at some point switch to contributing everything. My goal is to discover and explain this point. I use mathematical analysis and computer simulation to derive the results.

Abstract:High-quality development is a new-era requirement for modern urban construction. The implementation of construction land decrement has become an inevitable choice to solve the urban land use dilemma and achieve high-quality social and economic development. It is a game process for stakeholders. Based on the multi-agent game model, this research analyzes the game relationship and strategy selection between governments, government and farmers, government and developers, and developers and farmers and examines the balance of interests among multiple subjects. From the perspective of space dimension, index dimension, use dimension and time dimension, a game path is constructed for construction land decrement. The research shows the following: There is a clear relationship between the supervision cost of the higher-level government and the intensity of rewards and punishments for the lower-level government and the implementation of the decrement. The district (county) government's compensation plan and farmers' perceptions of the success of the boycott will affect the strategic choices of both parties. Governments at all levels play a direct role in restraining development behavior and supervising rent-seeking behavior after developers intervene in volume reduction. It also proposes optimizing the ratio of game factors such as costs, benefits, rewards, verification and punishment to achieve the game equilibrium of the expression of the interests of village residents, developers and governments at all levels. Based on the path planning and coupling of response, the multi-scheme dynamic path selection for the development of construction land decrement is realized.

Abstract:The common fraud events between the public accounting firm and the audited enterprise have occurred frequently, coupled with the lack of supervision and punishment, so that the quality of accounting information is constantly seriously questioned by the public. In this paper, I establish the principal-agent model of uncertainty and without supervision between the accounting firm and enterprise by making use of principal-agent theory, analyze the model's participation constraint and incentive compatibility constraint, and establish the benefit matrix between the accounting firm and government by applying the related game theory. Thus the related decision-making recommendations for the current situation are drawn.

Abstract:With deeper study of the Game Theory, some conditions of Prisoner's Dilemma is no longer suitable of games in real life. So we try to develop a new model-Villager's Dilemma which has more realistic conditions to stimulate the process of game. It is emphasize that Prisoner's Dilemma is an exception which is lack of universality and the importance of rules in the game. And it puts forward that to let the rule maker take part in the game and specifies game players can stop the game as they like. This essay describes the basic model, the villager's dilemma (VD) and put some extended use of it, and points out the importance of rules and the effect it has on the result of the game. It briefly describes the disadvantage of Prisoner's Dilemma and advantage Villager's Dilemma has. It summarizes the premise and scope of application of Villager's Dilemma, and provides theory foundation for making rules for game and forecast of the future of the game.

Abstract:Here we use multi-game theory to analyze the main reasons for credit deficiency on county government and the other players;in the one-off game,county government and the other players get into a Prisoner's Dilemma,leading to a short-term credit loss behavior.Under the multiple game theory,the credit deficiency has improved.So we put forward some countermeasures,such as strengthening the county government's credit information open,consummating credit supervision,intensifying accountability the officials who break their words,establishing incentive and restriction mechanism for keeping one's word,founding a legal system of supervision,by the establishment of a repetitive game mechanism we hope to upgrade the level of county government credit status quo.

Abstract:In social systems, the purpose of individuals playing games is to get higher payoffs. However, if the benefit from game interactions does not achieve their expectation, agents may be more inclined to escape from games to reduce the potential consumption. Of particular interest, this trait could be mimicked by the so-called “silence” strategy. In this work, we consider silence strategy in the framework of prisoner’s dilemma game, where players either engage in the game as cooperators or defectors, or gain no any payoff as the silence agents. The events of turning into and escaping from silence strategy depend on both the consumption level and silence period. Of particular interest, it is unveiled that there exists an intermediate consumption level that could guarantee the optimal cooperation circumstance. For the small consumption level, the silence strategy could enhance the frequency of cooperation through the rock–scissor–paper cycle. While for the large consumption level, vast majority of players choose the silence strategy to avoid the high loss of engaging in games. This discovery is universally effective for the silence period.

Abstract:Frequent violations of fair principles in real-life settings raise the fundamental question of whether such principles can guarantee the existence of a self-enforcing equilibrium in a free economy. We show that elementary principles of distributive justice guarantee that a pure-strategy Nash equilibrium exists in a finite economy where agents freely (and non-cooperatively) choose their inputs and derive utility from their pay. Chief among these principles is that: 1) your pay should not depend on your name, and 2) a more productive agent should not earn less. When these principles are violated, an equilibrium may not exist. Moreover, we uncover an intuitive condition -- technological monotonicity -- that guarantees equilibrium uniqueness and efficiency. We generalize our findings to economies with social justice and inclusion, implemented in the form of progressive taxation and redistribution, and guaranteeing a basic income to unproductive agents. Our analysis uncovers a new class of strategic form games by incorporating normative principles into non-cooperative game theory. Our results rely on no particular assumptions, and our setup is entirely non-parametric. Illustrations of the theory include applications to exchange economies, surplus distribution in a firm, contagion and self-enforcing lockdown in a networked economy, and bias in the academic peer-review system. Abstract:Game theory has been one of the most successful quantitative concepts to describe social interactions, their strategical aspects, and outcomes. Among the payoff matrix quantifying the result of a social interaction, the interaction conditions have been varied, such as the number of repeated interactions, the number of interaction partners, the possibility to punish defective behavior etc. While an extension to spatial interactions has been considered early on such as in the "game of life", recent studies have focussed on effects of the structure of social interaction networks. However, the possibility of individuals to move and, thereby, evade areas with a high level of defection, and to seek areas with a high level of cooperation, has not been fully explored so far. This contribution presents a model combining game theoretical interactions with success-driven motion in space, and studies the consequences that this may have for the degree of cooperation and the spatio-temporal dynamics in the population. It is demonstrated that the combination of game theoretical interactions with motion gives rise to many self-organized behavioral patterns on an aggregate level, which can explain a variety of empirically observed social behaviors.
