Correlation Between the NINJ2 Gene Polymorphism and Stroke in the Yi and Hani Nationality in Yunnan Province

Abstract:Objective To explore the association between the NINJ2 gene polymorphism and stroke in the Yi and Hani nationality of Yunnan region. Methods We selected 9cases of stroke and 37 healthy controls from the Yi nationality as well as 7cases of stroke and 89 healthy controls from the Hani nationality in Yunnan Province.Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP)method was used to detect the genotypes of the 2single nucleotide polymorphism(SPN)sites(rsl2425791and rsll833579)in NINJ2 gene.The differences of genotypes and alleles frequencies of the 2SNP sites between each 2different groups were analyzed and compared. Results There was no statistically significant deviation about the genotypes and allele frequencies of the 2SPNs between healthy controls and stroke patients in the Yi nationality.There were statistically significant differences in the allele frequencies(A and G)of rsll833579 site between healthy controls and stroke patients in the Hani nationality(P0.05),but no statistically significant difference was found in the genotypes of rsll833579 site as well as the genotypes and allele frequencies of rsl2425791 site between the above-mentioned two groups. Conclusions The allele frequencies(A,G)of rsll833579 site in NINJ2 gene are correlated with stroke in the Hani nationality of Yunnan Province,whereas the genotypes of rsll833579 site as well as the allele frequencies and genotypes of rsl2425791 site are not associated with stroke in the Yi nationality of Yunnan Province.There is no correlation between the SPN sites(rsl2425791and rsll833579)in NINJ2 gene and stoke in the Yi nationality of Yunnan Province.
