Abstract:Objective To discuss the effects of Quetiapine combined with Modified Electroconvulsive therapy(MECT) on bipolar depression patients and the effects of switching to mania rate.Methods Totally 46 cases of bipolar depression patients were randomly divided into two groups.There were 23 cases in study group,they received treatments of Quetiapine combined with MECT.But 23 cases which were in control group received MECT only.All subjects received Hamilton Depression Rating scale(HAMD) and Brown Mania Rating scale(BRMS) before treatment and 1,2,3 weeks after treatment.Results The scores of HAMD in study group were obviously lower than in control group(P0.05),The rate of switching to mania in study group was lower than in contral group,and the differences were significantly(P0.05).Conclusions The effect of Quetiapine combined with MECT in treatment of bipolar depression is obviously better than usual methods,At the same time,it can significantly reduce the risk of inducing mania.
