Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of radiofrequency on immune function of mice with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods Sixty Balb's mice were randomized into the control group(groups A.n=30)and radiofrequency-treated group(group B,n=30).After the model of HCC were established in all the 60 mice, radiofrequency treatment was performed in group B.Blood samples were harvested by eyeball blood collection at 0h,2h,2w,3w and 4w after the treatment. The changes in TNF-α and IL-2 were determined by ELISA and that in CD54 by s-p immunohistochemical staining. Results The levels of TNF-α and I1-2 was significantly higher in group B than in group A (P0.05).In group B,the expression of CD54 was increased and it was correlated with the changes of TNF-α and I1-2 levels(P0.01).Conclusions Radiofrequency treatment can increase the blood levels of TNF-α and I1-2 and up-regulate the expression of intracellular adhesion molecule to induce im- mune response of the tumor to exert anti-tumor effect.
