Abstract:We investigate the factorization of entire solutions of the following algebraic differential equations:bn(z)fin(f′)jn+bn−1(z)fin−1(f′)jn−1+⋯+b0(z)fi0(f′)j0=b(z), where n∈N is a natural number, is⩾0, js⩾0, is+js>0 (0⩽s⩽n) are the integers, and bi(z)≢0 (0⩽i⩽n) are the polynomials. Moreover, the results enable us to provide new criteria/proofs of primeness or pseudo-primeness for certain well-known classes of entire functions.

Abstract:In this paper, the growth of the meromorphic solutions of the equation f” = L(z,f)(f')^2 + M(z,f)f' + N(z,f) where L, M, N are birational functions, is studied. We prove that if L(z, f) satisfies a quite general condition, then f must be of finite order. Furthermore, if (L(z, f)≡0, and M(z, f), N(z, f) are polynomials in f, then the order of any entire solution of the equation is a positive integral multiple of 1/2.

Abstract:Abstract We consider solutions to the algebraic differential equation $\def \xmlpi #1{}\def \mathsfbi #1{\boldsymbol {\mathsf {#1}}}\let \le =\leqslant \let \leq =\leqslant \let \ge =\geqslant \let \geq =\geqslant \def \Pr {\mathit {Pr}}\def \Fr {\mathit {Fr}}\def \Rey {\mathit {Re}}f^nf'+Q_d(z,f)=u(z)e^{v(z)}$, where $Q_d(z,f)$ is a differential polynomial in $f$ of degree $d$ with rational function coefficients, $u$ is a nonzero rational function and $v$ is a nonconstant polynomial. In this paper, we prove that if $n\ge d+1$ and if it admits a meromorphic solution $f$ with finitely many poles, then $$\begin{equation*} f(z)=s(z)e^{v(z)/(n+1)} \quad \mbox {and}\quad Q_d(z,f)\equiv 0. \end{equation*}$$ With this in hand, we also prove that if $f$ is a transcendental entire function, then $f'p_k(f)+q_m(f)$ assumes every complex number $\alpha $, with one possible exception, infinitely many times, where $p_k(f), q_m(f)$ are polynomials in $f$ with degrees $k$ and $m$ with $k\ge m+1$. This result generalizes a theorem originating from Hayman [‘Picard values of meromorphic functions and their derivatives’, Ann. of Math. (2)70(2) (1959), 9–42].
Completely regular growth solutions to linear differential equations with exponential polynomials coefficients

Abstract:Consider the linear differential equation $$ f^{(n)}+A_{n-1}f^{(n-1)}+\cdots+A_{0}f=0 $$ where the coefficients $A_j,j=0,\ldots,n-1,$ are exponential polynomials. It is known that every solution is entire. This paper will show that all transcendental solutions of finite growth order are of completely regular growth. This problem was raised in Heittokangas et al.[8, p.33], which involves an extensive question about Gol'dberg-Ostrovskiǐ's Problem [5, p.300]. Moreover, we define functions in a generalized class concluding exponential polynomial functions, which are also of completely regular growth.

Abstract:We prove that if f is a transcendental entire function and the set of all finite singularities of its inverse function f(-1) is bounded, then f(z) + P(z) is prime for any nonconstant polynomial P(z), unless f(z) and P(z) has a nonlinear common right factor. Particularly, it is shown that f(z) + az is prime for any constant a not equal 0.

Abstract:In this paper, we obtain the precise form of meromorphic functions u(z(1), z(2)) in C-2 when the linearly independent operators au(z1) + bu(z2) and cu(z1) + du(z2 )have a common right factor with constants a, b, c, d. We also describe entire solutions of the partial differential equationF(u(z1), u(z2), ... , u(zn)) = 1in C-n under a more general definition in the sense of the prime functions. Abstract:Let $f\in {\mathbb {Q}}[X]$ be a polynomial without multiple roots and $deg(f)\ge 2$. We consider the Diophantine equation $f(x)f(y)=f(z^2)$. For two classes of irreducible quadratic polynomials, this equation has infinitely many nontrivial integer solutions, if the corresponding Pell’s equations satisfy a condition. For a special cubic polynomial, it has a one-parameter family of rational solutions. For $f(X)=X(X^2+X+k)$ and $X(X^2+kX+1)$ there are infinitely many $k \in {\mathbb {Q}}$ such that the title equation has rational solutions.

Abstract:In this paper, we demonstrate that, for general second order uniformly elliptic equations of non-divergence form in unbounded cylinders with zero boundary condition, the space of solutions with a given exponential growth is of finite dimension. In particular, we generalize a result of Hang and Lin (1999) [4] in the non-divergence's setting by using a different approach. This allows us to consider the general lower order terms. Furthermore, a sharp estimate of the dimension is established by using the mean value inequality.

Abstract:In this paper, we classify all solutions bounded from below to uniformly elliptic equations of second order in the form of Lu(x) = a(ij)(x)D(ij)u(x) + b(i)(x)D(i)u(x) + c(x)u(x) = f (x) or Lu(x) = D-i(a(ij)D(j)u(x)) + b(i)(x)D(i)u(x) + c(x)u(x) = f (x) in unbounded cylinders. After establishing that the Aleksandrov maximum principle and boundary Harnack inequality hold for bounded solutions, we show that all solutions bounded from below are linear combinations of solutions, which are sums of two special solutions that exponential growth at one end and exponential decay at the another end, and a bounded solution that corresponds to the inhomogeneous term f of the equation.

Abstract:In this article we investigate the solvability of infinite-dimensional differential algebraic equations. Such equations often arise as partial differential-algebraic equations (PDAEs). A decomposition of the state-space that leads to an extension of the Hille-Yosida Theorem on Hilbert spaces for these equations is described. For dissipative partial differential equations the famous Lumer-Phillips generation theorem characterizes solvability and also boundedness of the associated semigroup. An extension of the Lumer-Phillips generation theorem to dissipative differential-algebraic equations is given. The results is illustrated by coupled systems and the Dzektser equation.

Abstract:Algebraic difierential equations of the flrst order are considered. An efiective necessary condition for an algebraic difierential equation of the flrst order to have a general rational solution is given: the algebraic genus of the equation should be 0. Combining with Fuchs' conditions for algebraic difierential equations without movable critical points, an algorithm is given for the computation of rational solutions of these equations. It is based on an algorithmic reduction of flrst order algebraic difierential equations with genus 0 and without movable critical point to classical Riccati equations.
