Abstract:The sonic hedgehog (SHH) pathway is activated in basal-cell carcinoma, and loss-of-function mutations in SHH cause holoprosencephaly. This study uncovers a translocation involving the SHH promoter in a person with holoprosencephaly and basal-cell carcinomas.
