Abstract:In order to accelerate the modernization and internalization of Traditional Chinese Medicine ( TCM) ,there is a great need to cultivate a large number of high-quality comprehensive and innovative talents.Therefore,the demand of providing natural medicines related courses to the students in the bio-medical sciences related majors is growing.Herein,the curriculum design and exploration of the teaching methods for the course of Introduction to Natural Products Chemistry in the Biotechnology specialty are discussed.

Abstract:Based on orientation of natural medicine research ideas and methods,a new course "Experiments of Natural Medicine" has been established by integrating the original "Pharmaceutical Botany","Pharmacognosy",and "Medicinal Chemistry of Natural Products Experiments." Abstract:We carried out discussing case of Chemistry of Natural Products in different specialized course in College of Pharmacy,Henan University.263 students' questionnaire surveys indicated that the discussing method combined with teaching by powerpoint is the most approvable.The teaching method can be applied in theme introduction,example in course and overview after course.The teaching method is effective to stimulate the students' studying interest,improve their ability of analyzing questions and enhance the mastering of theoretical knowledge,etc.So it is worth promoting in Chemistry of Natural Products teaching.

Abstract:Objective. To describe the development of a pharmacognosy course that uses a combination of didactic teaching, team-based projects, and practicum laboratory practice. Methods. A course titled “Pharmacognosy” was developed by applying a three-tier teaching methodology: in the classroom, the basic concepts and principles were introduced in a didactic manner; outside the classroom, students worked in teams and each team created an independent literature-based research project that was submitted as a poster presentation; in the pharmacy practicum laboratory, students worked individually and conducted a quality control experiment comprised of a quantitative analysis of an herbal product. Results. During the seven-year course implementation, 1091 first-year PharmD students participated in the course. Their performance was consistently satisfactory. On average, 30% of students in each class received a grade of “A” and teams received a “B” and above on their projects. Conclusion. The pharmacognosy course, equipped with concurrent teaching methods, implemented with a group research project, and reinforced by practicum laboratory experience, has reached the original goal of introducing a classical topic in an updated and contemporary fashion to meet the requirement of integrated pharmacy education and practice.

Abstract:Organic Chemistry is an important foundational course for all majors of traditional Chinese medicine. However, due to the high threshold for the introduction of this course and the characteristics of the learning situation in the ethnic minority areas of Southwest China, the teaching effectiveness of this course in all majors of traditional Chinese medicine in our school is unsatisfactory. Therefore, the teaching team conducted research and found that the key and pain point of teaching Organic Chemistry in our school's majors of traditional Chinese medicine is how to learn more difficult content in less teaching time. The key to solving this problem lies in adopting what kind of "lively and interesting" teaching method to transmit "highlighted content" in less teaching time. Based on this, the teaching team has carried out reforms in three aspects: "humanization of teaching presentations", "case-based teaching design" and "digitalization of teaching resources" for Organic Chemistry, which have achieved significant results. However, more precise and personalized teaching methods are still the direction for the next reform.

Abstract:Objective:To analyze the current situation of the course of Pharmaceutical Analysis in the education and training of undergraduate students, explore the teaching reform and innovation to better accommodate the pharmacy education in the new era and build an advanced mode for training pharmaceutical talents with interdisciplinary expertise that meet the requirements and needs of job market. Methods:The first stage was to investigate the suggestions and needs of teaching reform; the second stage was to carry out the exploration and practice of the course reform; the third stage was to evaluate the teaching effect.Results:The demand survey showed that the teaching content, course design, and teaching methods of the Pharmaceutical Analysis need to be further optimized and expanded. Conclusion:By adjusting the teaching content, expanding teaching methods, innovating diversified teaching practices, and integrating the "curriculum ideology and politics" into the construction, the course reform has stimulated students' interest in learning and innovative spirit, strengthened their theoretical literacy and practical ability, and cultivated their international vision and lofty professional ethics.

Abstract:: To cultivate students’ innovative ability and practical ability, as well as to help them comprehensively master the theoretical knowledge and experimental skills of organic synthesis experiments, teaching exploration and practice of combining research and systematicness in organic synthesis laboratories have been carried out. In the process of designing the curriculum and teaching, we should implement ideas, methods, and teaching reforms that are student-centric. From the viewpoint of enhancing teaching reforms, teaching methods, assessment methods, and other teaching links that explore research, science, and education integration should be combined with the actual classroom teaching, advocate heuristic, and inquiry teaching methods. Abstract:Organic chemistry experiment is an important basic course of chemistry and chemical engineering and other specialties.Traditional teaching methods generally use the combination of knowledge and skills to teach the students,that is,teachers explain the content before the experiment,then students independently do experiments,while teachers correct and standardize the experimental operation.With the development of the times,this teaching method is obviously outdated from the requirements of new talent cultivation.So we must strive to reform and innovate teaching methods.However,only using a single method of teaching to solve the problem radically is not realistic.For the problems faced by the organic chemistry experiment teaching,this research will integratedly use " special teaching method","flipped classroom teaching method"," participatory approach"," Web-based resource PBL teaching method" into the experimental teaching process.Meanwhile,based on the characteristics of curriculum,the research,which retains the essential characteristics of those methods,will be transformed and upgraded by integrating of a variety of teaching methods.As a result,it is obvious to see the practice teaching effect.

Abstract:The industry of Chinese medicinal materials is going through another high-level development stage with some important files issued by Chinese government in the past months, such as "the protection and development plans of Chinese medicinal materials (2015-2020)" and "the strategic development plans of Chinese medicine (2016-2030)". In addition, the effect of "TU Youyou" will not only improve the industry development, but also indicates the increasing international competition intensely. Therefore, one of the core problems of the sustainable-development industry is the training of senior talents under the "New Situation" with opportunity and intense competition. As one of the forefront courses of Chinese Pharmacology, Molecular Pharmacognosy (MP) is a new interdisciplinary science, which integrates the pharmacognosy and molecular biology, and combines many discipline theories and technological systems. MP not only inherits the traditional concepts,but also makes up for the shortages of pharmacognosy, and improves the development of pharmacognosy. Thus, these are importance of MP for cultivation of senior talents, and also the difficult teaching points of MP with no unified teaching mode. We will, in this paper, discuss the possible teaching modes through several aspects for talent cultivation and meeting the needs of social and industry development, such as teaching state of MP, the education of undergraduate and graduate students, social identity, and self renewal of curriculum theories and practice.

Abstract:Objective: To explore the drug quality standard teaching of the Pharmacy Undergraduate Students to improve the teaching quality and promote the cultivation of talents, etc. Methods : Discuss simply about the drug quality standard teaching content and teaching mode based on the characteristics of drug quality standard teaching in pharmaceutical. Results : Drug quality standard is very practical, and its teaching content and teaching mode should be adjusted and updated based on its characteristics and social needs.
