Abstract:The mixed L 1/H-infinity control problem for a class of uncertain linear singular systems is considered using a matrix inequality approach. The purpose is to design a state feedback control law such that the resultant closed-loop system is regular, impulse-free, stable and satisfies some given mixed L 1/H-infinity performance. A sufficient condition for the existence of such control law is given in terms of a set of matrix inequalities by the introduction of inescapable set and *-norm. When these matrix inequalities are feasible, an explicit expression of the desired state feedback control law is given. A numerical example is used to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed approach.

Abstract:The problem of guaranteed cost control for a class of linear discrete uncertain system is considered in this paper. The system under consideration contains convex polyhedral uncertain parameters. An upper bound of performance measured by standard quadratic function is constructed and a method of designing state feedback robust stabilizing control law guaranteeing this quadratic performance index of system be less than this upper bound is derived. It is proved that whether such a control law exists is equivalent to the feasibility of a group of linear matrix inequality Also, a procedure is given to select an optimal state feedback controller in the sense of minimizing the upper bound of quadratic performance index.

Abstract:The problem of robust H-infinity control for a class of uncertain singular time-delay systems is studied in this paper. A new approach is proposed to describe the relationship between slow and fast subsystems of singular time-delay systems, based on which, a sufficient condition is presented for a singular time-delay system to be regular, impulse free and stable with an H-infinity performance. The robust H-infinity control problem is solved and an explicit expression of the desired state-feedback control law is also given. The obtained results are formulated in terms of strict linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) involving no decomposition of system matrices. A numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:One purpose of this work is to establish the nominal description of mixed H 2 / l 1 optimization problems evolving from mixed H 2 / l 1 control problems for SISO discrete time systems. Some assumptions on mixed H 2 / l 1 optimization problems are made. Another purpose of this work is to study the structure of the closure of feasible region for mixed H 2 / l 1 optimization problems. The feasible region is the set of a map of a free parameter which is rational stable and satisfies some constraints. It is shown that the closure is exactly the set of the same map, where the free parameter is stable and satisfies the same constraints. It is convenient to describe mixed H 2 / l 1 optimization problems with a stable free parameter. For mixed H 2 / l 1 optimization problems with stable free parameter, the existence and uniqueness of the solution can be easily obtained.

Abstract:The problem of quadratic stabilization and robust H/sup /spl infin// controller design for a class of linear time-varying uncertain dynamic systems with delayed state and control are studied via a Riccati equation approach. A static state feedback controller which stabilizes the plant and reduces the effect of the disturbance input on the controlled output to a prescribed level for all admissible time-varying uncertainties is presented and a sufficient condition for the existence of a robust H/sup /spl infin// controller is derived. Then the sufficient condition is transformed into a linear matrix inequality (LMI) problem and the control law can be obtained by solving LMIs.

Abstract:Optimal control of hybrid systems encounters the difficulty of computational complexity due to hybrid systems involving continuous variable and discrete variable.Hybrid model mixed with logics and rules is presented. Mixed integer nonlinear programming algorithm integrated constraint programming is applied to solve optimal control problems of hybrid model. The practical result shows that this method can build more precision model by utilizing mechanism model of industrial process and expert experience. And it also shows that the algorithm of mixed integer nonlinear programming integrated constraint programming can solve the optimal control problem of hybrid model rapidly. So this method can be used in real-time control of industrial process.

Abstract:A discrete-time H2 control design problem involving a constraint on robust l1 stability is formulated and an approximation method for the solution of this infinite-dimensional optimization problem is introduced. A suboptimal solution of the original problem can be obtained by solving a sequence of truncated problems. The convergence property of the solution scheme is investigated. It is shown that there exists a unique point in the closure of the feasible region such that the optima is achieved.

Abstract:The general discrete-time Single-Input Single-Output (SISO) mixed H 2 / l 1 control problem is considered in this paper. It is found that the existing results of duality theory cannot be directly applied to this infinite dimension optimisation problem. By means of two finite dimension approximate problems, to which duality theory can be applied, the dual of the mixed H 2 / l 1 control problem is verified to be the limit of the duals of these two approximate problems.

Abstract:Optimizing the coordinate transformation matrix is a newly proposed iterative LMI-based approach for solving the H ∞ static-output-feedback (SOF) control of discrete-time systems. Once a proper initial coordinate transformation matrix was found, a locally optimal solution for the H ∞ SOF control problem can be ensured. However, the problem of how to choose the initial matrix needs to be further studied. This paper applies a cone complementarity linearization (CCL) strategy to solve this problem. Then, a hybrid optimization approach is developed to solve the H ∞ SOF control problem. Finally, numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed method.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with mixed l 1/H ∞-control problem of MIMO discrete_time systems where l 1_performance objective is minimized subject to an H ∞ constraint. By introducing an auxiliary optimal problem, we prove the continuous_dependence of optimal objective with respect to the constrainted H ∞_performance objective. The existence of the solution of the auxiliary optimal problem is also proved. We present the convergence of the solutions of a series of the truncation problems of the auxiliary optimal problem, and show that its limit is the optimal solution of the auxiliary optimal problem. Particularly, we give an approach to obtain the converging lower and upper bounds of the mixed l 1/H ∞-control problem. This approach gives a computationally efficient synthesis procedure which avoid the problem of zero_interpolation techniques. Finally, an example shows that the approach is feasible for designing suboptimal controller of the mixed control problem.

Abstract:This paper proposes a new method to solve the controller-reduction problem based on the L-1-norm. This method uses a reduced-order closed-loop system to deduce reduced-order controllers. The problem of obtaining the required lower-order closed-loop system was formulated as an L1-norm optimization, and the conditions were provided for guaranteeing the internal stability and the existence of lower-order controllers from the obtained reduced-order closed-loop system. In addition, the particle swarm optimization and sequence linear programming were adopted to solve the resultant L-1-norm optimization. Abstract:The guaranteed cost control of dynamic interval systems with a given quadratic cost function is addressed.A design method for the optimal guaranteed cost controller is proposed in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs).The results are also extended to parametric uncertain systems.With the powerful LMI toolbox,it is very convenient to solve these problems.The examples show that this method is effective to design the optimal guaranteed cost controller for dynamic interval systems and rank_1 parametric uncertain systems.
