Abstract:This paper analyzed the existing problems of virtual network mapping(VNM)algorithm based on best-effort service,and pointed out their shortcoming on resource load balancing,and then defined load balancing cost indicator on the physical network,proposed a virtual network mapping randomized algorithm based on load balancing.Experiment shows that the proposed algorithm increases physical network resource load balancing metric and coefficient of utilization,therefore can improve the virtual network construction request acceptance ratio and income profit of physical network service provider.

Abstract:Convenient, rapid, efficient and anonymous characteristic of P2P technology, enables P2P network gathering enormous users very quickly, and P2P traffic has occupied 60~80% bandwidth of Internet. Such giant traffic has formed a threat to the service quality of other Internet application and the security of Internet itself. However, most study about P2P traffic focuses on traffic monitoring and characteristic identifying technique. Rare study analyzes P2P traffic behavior from P2P mechanism itself. This paper construct P2P network queuing model, analyzes the influence of related factors to the load-scale of concrete resource. Main conclusion including, compared with other factors, average degree of node and TTL value is the most key factor to load-scale. Load-scale increases with node quantity, initial number of objected resource and resource’s total quantity, however, when those quantity reach to some critical threshold, the influence of those factors become quite weak to load-scale of resource.

Abstract:Load balancing can effectively improve network performance and scalability, but it may cause packet disorder, so worsening the performance. Additionally, without MPLS to establish the desired end-to-end paths, hop-by-hop routing load balancing is more difficult to achieve than the source routing; however, it can significantly improve network performance. In this paper, we propose a load balancing scheme with hop-by-hop routing, by using the burstiness features of flows to make sure that the packets of the same flow arrive at the receiving end in order. Simulation results show that our algorithm can adapt to the dynamic changes of the end-to-end delay and the routing vector, and also can achieve fine-gained load balancing.

Abstract:Two classical models in distributed environment,symmetrical cluster and unsymmetrical cluster,were introduced.Aiming at the problems in enterprise applications caused by the two models,a distributed model based on data partition was presented,and a new load balance algorithm based on database access was proposed.Two critical threshold values Dmax and VSRT in the algorithm could be obtained by testing and analysis.The model and the load balance mechanism benefit the system with good performance,high scalability and dynamic load balance.They were applied to a financial system which was reengineered from standalone legacy system into J2EE distributed environment.The system architecture based on data partition was implemented successfully and performed very well.

Abstract:ABSTRACT:Spatial load forecasting is precondition and foundation for distribution network planning. Existing researches focus on theoretical innovation and accuracy improvement of forecasting method, neglecting load distribution research. Based on clustering analysis and non-parametric kernel density estimation, a method of spatial load distribution is proposed. Taking Zhejiang power grid as example, spatial load research samples are classified according to a two-level partition of urban development types and land use types. Then typical load density distribution characteristics are extracted in all kinds of samples using the proposed method. Finally, industrial, commercial, residential and other spatial load distribution patterns are analyzed, providing reliable support for distribution network planning.

Abstract:Heterogeneous network (HetNet) is one of the key architectures in 3rd Generation Partnership Projects (3GPP), in which lower-power but more flexible Pico base station (PBS) is appended. The original homogeneous base station stays the same and is called Macro base station (MBS) in HetNet. The traditional network admission and handover is performed by the reference signal received power (RSRP), which is positively related to transmission power. Consequently, the lower-power PBS will be unattractive to user equipment (UE), resulting in feeble performance enhancement of HetNet and imbalance load between MBS and PBS. This paper investigates a dynamic load balancing algorithm to solve this load-imbalance problem that deteriorate 3GPP LTE network system performance. The algorithm is based on the heterogeneous network access function (HNAF) which is deduced from network fairness analysis according to load status of different bases. Meanwhile, the algorithm is realized through traffic transfer scheme, and is designed as a suboptimal but practical solution. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm gains a better performance on throughput, access success rate and the interlayer fairness compared with existing scheme.

Abstract:In the multi-cell IEEE 802.11 wireless networks, the traffic loads of access points(APs) are often uneven, which leads to inefficient use of network resources and unfair service to users. To alleviate such imbalance, different user association schemes have been proposed that use different metrics for measuring the congestion level of APs. In this paper, we propose a game theoretical model for the user association problem using the airtime cost as the congestion metric. The centralized and localized algorithms are designed for achieving the airtime-balancing Nash equilibrium. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithms outperform the existing scheme in terms of fairness and load balance.

Abstract:In order to solve load balancing of the distributed file system,I did some research into the load balancing algorithms,and analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of them.Combining static weighted round robin algorithm and dynamic load balancing algorithm,this paper proposed an adaptive,comprehensive dynamic load balancing.It is simple,low cost and effective.After more tests,I found that the algorithm can effectively reduce the average response time and increase throughput.It is better than static weighted round robin algorithm and dynamic load balancing algorithm.

Abstract:The paper presents theoretical analysis of the deterministic complexity of the load balancing problem (LBP). Because of difficulty of the general problem, research in the area mostly restricts itself to probabilistic or approximation algorithms, or to the average behavior of a network. The paper provides deterministic analysis of the problem for general networks. It focuses on the worst-case complexity analysis of the problem. It shows certain cases of the LBP to be NP-complete. The paper also discusses situations closely related to computer networks, where there is a global view of load distribution in the network; it provides a polynomial algorithm for solving the load balancing problem in this network.

Abstract:Layer-3 load balancing is a key topic in the networking field. It is well acknowledged that flowlet is the most promising solution because of its good trade-off between load balance and packet reordering. However we find its one significant limitation: it makes the forwarding paths of flows unpredictable. To address this limitation this paper presents BurstBalancer a simple yet efficient load balancing system with a sketch named BalanceSketch. Our design philosophy is doing less changes to keep the forwarding path of most flows fixed which guides the design of BalanceSketch and our balance operations. We have fully implemented BurstBalancer in a small-scale testbed built with Tofino switches and conducted both large-scale event-level (NS-2) and ESL (electronic system level) simulations. Our results show that BurstBalancer achieves 5%$\sim$35% smaller FCT than LetFlow in symmetric topology and up to 30× smaller FCT in asymmetric topology while 58× fewer flows suffer from path changing. Abstract:In order to provide the best content service to users, CDN (Content Distribution / Delivery Network) technology comes into being. The implementation of CDN relies on many kinds of technologies. For example, load balancing is such an important technology. The paper adds the load balancing management to the above two algorithms to achieve network proximity which are mentioned in reference 4, to analyze servers’ load before and after load balancing management and to compare the performance. The paper also pat forward the idea about network tree and gives the algorithm about how to divide the network.

Abstract:Network load balancers are central components in data centers, that distributes workloads across multiple servers and thereby contribute to offering scalable services. However, when load balancers operate in dynamic environments with limited monitoring of application server loads, they rely on heuristic algorithms that require manual configurations for fairness and performance. To alleviate that, this paper proposes a distributed asynchronous reinforcement learning mechanism to-with no active load balancer state monitoring and limited network observations-improve the fairness of the workload distribution achieved by a load balancer. The performance of proposed mechanism is evaluated and compared with stateof-the-art load balancing algorithms in a simulator, under configurations with progressively increasing complexities. Preliminary results show promise in RLbased load balancing algorithms, and identify additional challenges and future research directions, including reward function design and model scalability.

Abstract:This paper presents a theoretical analysis of the Load Balancing Problem (LBP) in a network of processing units. The performance objective is to minimize the makespan, i.e., the time spent to finish all jobs in a network of processing units. Because of the communication delay that results from the network topology, it is impossible to have a strategy which obtains the exact optimum under all load distributions. Instead, we measure the information efficiency of a load balancing policy by the worst case ratio of the solution (for each load distribution) of a load balancing policy to the optimal solution (for the same load distribution) assuming that processors have complete information about the load distribution over the network. This ratio is called the competitive ratio of this strategy 17, 24, 34]. In particular, a policy is calledcompetitiveif this ratio is bounded by a constant. As a first step, we discuss the centralized LBP, where all the processors have complete information of the load distribution over a network. Its solution serves as a benchmark to compare with realistic strategies, both in theoretical analysis, and experimental and simulational studies of distributed algorithms. We show that when jobs have different sizes, even with preemptive scheduling, LBP is NP?complete. When the jobs are of the same size, we give a polynomial algorithm, using network?flow techniques, which extends to approximate solutions for jobs of different sizes. We apply this benchmark solution in order to analyze the competitiveness for three network topologies: completely connected graphs, rings, and hierarchical completek-ary trees. The constant competitive ratio results for complete network and hierarchical completek-ary trees are applied to a study on the issues of network designs suitable for the LBP. We further discuss the problem for general networks with jobs of different sizes for slightly weaker results than those for the constant competitive ratio requirement. Finally, we comment on the related issues of job partitioning over parallel/distributed systems.

Abstract:Currently, there are many algorithms used to balance the task of Cluser-servers, but not sufficiently take into account common method of heterogeneous servers and real-time load condition in each servers; In cloud computing environment, these algorithms don't adequately consider the loade-balacing in the environment of heterogeneous cloud. The paper proposed a Cloud Loading Balance algorithm, adding capacity to the dynamic balance mechanism for the cloud. The experiments demonstrate: the algorithm is obtains better load-balancing degree and using less time in loading all tasks.

Abstract:Load balancing is necessary in distributed file system, especially in high concurrency scenario. Traditional load balancing algorithms are mainly focus on static configuration of servers. In this paper, we present an improved dynamic load balancing algorithm in distributed file system. It first collects real-time performance and hardware configurations of slave servers to achieve dynamic load balancing. In addition, this algorithm automatically adjusts the load balancing strategy to make itself more suitable for the current application by analyzing the character of current application scenarios. Experiments show that the algorithm can effectively reduce the average response time and increase throughput.

Abstract:In order to solve the problem of node overcharge in distributed network based on DHT(distributed Hash table),a scalable load balancing solution is proposed.Every single node in this solution finishes load balance by itself which assures the node load would never be extremely large.Analysis and experiments show that this solution which eliminates the load overcharge problem has the features of node self-balance and cost independent from system size,it has a good practical and research value.
