Abstract:This article proposes a novel control scheme for dual-armature flux-switching permanent magnet (DA-FSPM) machines, which have additional coupling between the stator and rotor windings while comparing to flux-switching permanent magnet (FSPM) machines. The proposed method solves the additional coupling issue through matrix transformation so that each current in the synchronous reference frame can be independently controlled through PI controller. Besides, the torque distribution between two sets of windings follows the principle of minimum copper loss. Experimental validation is carried out on a DA-FSPM machine with three-phase stator windings and five-phase rotor windings, and the results are consistent with the theoretical analysis.

Abstract:Permanent magnet linear synchronous motors (PMLSM) is much superior to the traditional ones driven by rotating motor with the transition elements, but its control system is much more complex. To the model uncertainty and disturbance in grinding, a robust velocity controller was designed according to the frequency characteristic of the system and the design objectives. The Bode of the sensitivity function and the direct-forward transfer function was presented to demonstrate the disturbance rejection and robustness performance of the system. Simulation and experiment results demonstrate that the designed system is robust stable. Compared to original fluid driving system, The PMLSM driver had smaller steady-state error and better performance to reject disturbance.

Abstract:Dual-linear-motor-driven gantry systems have been widely used in high-speed or heavy payload precision motion systems. Due to the unique physical properties such as mechanical coupling, the precise synchronization control of such kinds of systems is crucial to achieve good tracking and smooth operation performance. However, the existing synchronization schemes usually focus on the pure motion synchronization only and, thus, have certain inherent performance limitations. In this paper, an accurate multi-input multi-output mathematical model of a dual-driven gantry is presented first, where the complete planar motions of the crossbeam include the traditional linear motion along the guide rails and the previously ignored rotational motion around the mass center. With the better understanding of the mechanical coupling and the internal forces caused by the rotational dynamics, an advanced synchronization control scheme by directly taking into account the additive rotational dynamics is presented, which not only synchronizes the motions of two parallel motors but also regulates the internal forces. In the proposed scheme, the adaptive robust control algorithm is also applied to obtain a guaranteed robust performance in the presence of both parametric uncertainties and uncertain nonlinearities. Comparative experiments with previous control schemes are carried out to show the better synchronization performance and verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:In order to realize multi-speed control of motor, a control system based on S7-1200 PLC and Siemens MicroMaster420 frequency converter is designed. Through the analysis of the cooling fan control requirements, the hardware system and software programming of the whole control system are designed. The PLC control unit of the control system completes signal acquisition, logic control and communication, etc. The system sets the parameters of the converter by changing the on-off state of the converter digital input, and further realizes the steering change and speed adjustment of the motor. Through experimental comparison, it is concluded that the control system designed in this paper can save more than 30% of the electric energy. The load of the motor is greater, and the energy-saving effect is more obvious. The advantages of the control system are simple circuit structure and convenient operation. The designed control system is simple and effective to realize the multi-stage control of the motor and improve the reliability and stability of the motor.

Abstract:Multi-motor synchronization control is significant for the steady running of high-speed trains. This paper introduces four typical synchronization strategies for multiple motors, namely the master reference control, master-slave control, cross-coupling control, and electronic virtual line-shafting (EVLS) control. Based on the structure of the CRH2 high-speed train, corresponding control systems are established in Simulink® utilizing above methods, with high-power permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM). The advantages and drawbacks of all techniques are presented by simulating the operating conditions of high-speed trains with load disturbances. Finally the technique which can best achieve precise synchronization and satisfy the necessities of traction systems is determined.

Abstract:The modeling process of multiphase PMSM variable speed system was expressed in detail based on analyzing the characters of system.Furthermore,the two closed loops control modulation system for the six phase PMSM based on field oriented control were established.Some engineering problems for multiphase PMSM variable speed system also have been discussed,and the circuit of sampling,protection,and fault disposal were designed,moreover,the software of interrupt handling and fault diagnosis were designed.Finally,the simulation result proved the veracity and feasibility of modeling and algorithm above.The hardware circuit was also designed.

Abstract:The paper introduces a damper flux-oriented control method of synchronous machines, and develops a mathematical model of a synchronous motor with damper flux-oriented control. It is proved through theoretical analysis and experiments that a damper flux-oriented drive system has the same steady performance as that achieved with airgap flux-oriented control; moreover the damper flux is not sensitive to the harmonics of the stator currents, and by using the feedback value, the dynamic performances of the drive system can be improved. A 2500 kW 12/6 Hz cycloconverter synchronous motor drive system with damper flux-oriented control has been manufactured and applied in rolling mills in China. The cycloconverter consists of three sets of antiparallel six-pulse bridge rectifiers without circulating current.< >

Abstract:Multi-motor synchronous control has always been one of the key technologies in the field of motion control. It is widely applied in automatic control of printing, paper making and filament winding. In this paper, an embedded multi-motor synchronous motion controller based on DSP and FPGA with pulse sequence is designed. The overall architecture and design ideas of controller is proposed, and some key technologies, which include motion pulse generator, pulse compensation planning and pulse output modulation, have been solved. Meanwhile, through experiments it shows that the designed controller can achieve high synchronization accuracy in high-speed conditions.

Abstract:In this paper, a simplified CNC system based on PLC and position controller is introduced. The position controller FX2N-20GM, is a pulse chain output unit, which can control motors to accomplish linear interpolation and circular interpolation. PLC,with the mode of FX2N-16MR, the logic control unit of system, reads position data from the position controller and determines the operation of the system. Labwindows/CVI,the configuration software on PC, is the upper monitoring system, showing the motors position in real time by monitoring PLC. The system, combined PLC , position controller and configuration software, can draw any kinds of two dimensional graphics and show the trajectory of motors on PC in real time, the linear interpolation and circular interpolation had been perfectly implemented by a series of experiments. Compared with classic CNC system, it did not contain tedious hardware wring or complex software programming, which makes the whole structure a simplified CNC system.
High-Precision Control For A Surface-Mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Based On Inverse System Approach

Abstract:This paper addressed the problem of coupling in a surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), and presented a decoupling control approach based on inverse system. Cascading the inversion with original system, the highly nonlinear, multivariable and strongly coupled system was decoupled into two independent pseudolinear subsystems, or an angular speed subsystem and a d-axis stator current subsystem. Then, a hybrid control scheme that combined the sliding-mode control approach and the internal-model principle was proposed with space vector modulation (SVM) technique. With this novel configuration, a time-varying sliding mode controller (SMC) with an integral term, and a classical 2-degree-of-freedom internal-model controller (2-DOF IMC) were adopted in the decoupled angular speed subsystem and the d-axis stator current subsystem, respectively. Ultimately, the proposed scheme was implemented by an established experimental system with low computational demand and high accuracy. Abstract:In this paper, the dynamics and synchronous control issues of dual drive system for gantry stages will be addressed. A physical dynamics model considering the mechanical coupling structure is presented. By carefully studying the dynamics we also try to find the main factors that cause interaction between different axes. Identification experiments are carried out in frequency domain to validate the proposed model, and to reveal the presence of high frequency resonance modes caused by the guide bearings and the rotation of the crossbeam. Synchronous control scheme with cross-coupled compensation are applied to achieve good synchronization between the two motors. Experiments are carried out on a base of an H-type gantry stage. The results verify the analysis, and provide a guideline for future research on synchronous control of this system when making trade-off between maximizing the achievable control performance and not exciting high-order dynamics in practice.

Abstract:Electro-hydraulic synchronous systems of multiple axes have received many applications due to the superior performance provided when moving heavy loads and applying large forces. However, a poorsynchronization of relevant motion axes causes the diminished accuracy of the workpiece or even unacceptable products. This paper presents a robust model-based predictive control for electro-hydraulic synchronous systems. A new control scheme imp, roving synchronization is proposed based on minimization of an synchronizatIon enhanced quadratic cost function, The theoretical derivation and comparative study are also presented, Simulation resultsshow that the proposed control system provides better tracking and synchronization performances.

Abstract:The discrete control technology for AC machine drives is widely applied in the industrial field. This paper aims to excavate new approaches to enhance the discrete control system in AC motor drive systems from following aspects: matching design for discrete subsystems, synchronization in the signal processing and dealing with the restrictions in the voltage output. The proposed approaches are incorporated with three key techniques applied in high performance induction motor drive systems: DC pre-excitation, parameter identification and flux observer with a sensorless control to verify the feasibility. The anti-interference and synchronization procedure in the implementation are also proposed. The experimental results from the test on 55kW/400V and 160kW/400V ASD (Adjustable Speed Drives) systems validate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches.

Abstract:This paper mainly presents the asynchronous running control design and application for multiple electrical machines in steel industry production by an example-the double-side shear that includes four machines. In the steel producing line, the double-side shear has the task of trimming the plate fed to it by the pinch roll units on both length sides and chopping the edge scrap thus produced with the aid of the scrap shear. It performs this task in continuous operation. Four asynchronous motors are synchronously controlled by four separate inverters whose connections are realized by SIMOLINK (Siemens Motion Link) software. All control impulse signals are transferred to every inverter by PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) with less than 0.001s error. The shearing technology parameters for steel plate directly also influence the motor running status.

Abstract:An ideal switching dynamics approach for variable structure controller design is proposed to address the control problem of AC permanent magnet linear synchronous motors. The switching dynamics keep changing between two kinds of reaching laws, where a power-rate reaching law is modified for the chattering reduction. For improving performance during the sliding mode of closed-loop system, the disturbance rejection technique is used and embedded in the reaching law. The time evolution of the switching function is characterized analytically in the paper. Experiment results show that the desinged controller is perfectly capable of achieving high control performance.

Abstract:Dual drive gantry mechanisms, in which two actuators are physically connected through a crossbeam to provide a joint thrust for higher acceleration, are widely used in high-speed or heavy payload precision motion control applications. Synchronizing motions of the two actuators and avoiding excessive internal forces are both essential to the smooth operation of these systems. This paper presents a novel synchronization control scheme with thrust allocation that achieves not only better motion synchronization of the two actuators but also simultaneous regulation of internal forces. With decreased internal forces, lesser wear in sliding parts, lower energy consumption, and higher performances can be achieved for dual drive gantry stages. In contrast, existing synchronization control approaches mainly focus on pure motion compensation and synchronization of the two actuators only. Due to the near-rigid physical coupling between the two actuators, excessive internal forces or the “pull and drag” phenomena could still exhibit under existing approaches even when their motions are quite well synchronized. Comparative experimental results are also obtained to show the superiority of the proposed synchronization controller over existing ones in practical applications.

Designing of fault diagnosis system is introduced and together with it relative programs are given.
