Abstract:The competition between cities is the product of the market economy,and hence comprehensive competitiveness of cities has been attached great importance to the various cities.From the macroeconomic competitiveness,and industrial competitiveness,Community level competitiveness,Science-education competitiveness of four selected areas of 37 secondary indicators to construct evaluation index system,this paper uses method of principal component analysis to evaluate comprehensive competitiveness of 14 county-level cities in Fujian Province as well as hierarchical cluster analysis,in order to provide scientific basis for optimized competitiveness of County-level cities in Fujian province.

Abstract:With the general competitiveness to stand for the urban agglomeration,the paper set up a quantitative indices system to make an evaluation of urban competitiveness for 15 cities among three urban agglomerations,using SPSS13.0.Then the author analyzed the reasons which led to the district differences of the three general competitiveness and the unbalanced development within the own agglomeration,and some suggestions were present on the cooperation and resource conformity to promote the development of the regional incorporation.

Abstract:The comprehensive economic strengths of the four coastal provinces namely Jiangsu, Shandong, Zhejiang and Guangdong and the municipality Shanghai are appraised by means of the principal component analysis. Two main components are extracted, the first representing the total economy level, the second, the affluent and active degree of the local economy. The five provinces or municipality are graded in accordance with their two main components scores as well as their comprehensive scores and conclusions are drawn and policy suggestions are put forward accordingly.

Abstract:In view of the incomplete analysis of regional finance,this paper establishes the regional overall financial competitive system of indices, including display indices and explainable indices. Some new ideas have been brought forth breakthroughs made in the article: It develops a new analysis frame for the regional overall financial competitiveness; It suggests Fuzzy Curve method application. It also uses hierarchical cluster procedure to analyze all the regions and classifies them into seven grades. It also draws a conclusion that financial infrastructure is vital and contributive to regional overall financial competitiveness.

Abstract:The competitiveness of tourism industry is a comprehensive reflection about the status of regional tourism development,the potential of sustainable growth and association effect.This paper uses factor analysis and principal component analysis to compare the competitiveness of the tourism industry of cities in Hunan and Jiangxi Provinces.On the basis of this,hierarchical clustering analysis is carried out respectively on the sample cities.The study shows that the distinct heterogeneity of regional development exists in Hunan-Jiangxi Provinces and four types of regional patterns are formed as the leading type of tourism industry,relatively dominant type,growth accumulation type and enhancing type.Finally,this paper,taking the cities in Hunan and Jiangxi Provinces as samples,is based on the perspectives of the current status about the regional tourism industry competitiveness and regional coo-petition relations to put forward some countermeasures and suggestions for optimizing the coo-petition relation of tourism industry in the two provinces and promoting collaborative development of the economy in central regions of China.

Abstract:The apparent,potential and comprehensive competitive power of different provinces in China are strikingly imbalanced.The difference between eastern and western China is especially prominent: the eastern coastal regions are stronger than western China.The apparent,potential and comprehensive industrial competitive power of different provinces are characterized by the similar spatial correlation and spatial cluster in spatial distribution.Comparatively there is a higher correlation between the spatial distribution of comprehensive industrial competitive power and potential competitive power,with the correlation coefficient up to 0.86,which accounts for the fact that the spatial difference of potential industrial competitive power has more influence on the comprehensive competitive power.The apparent competitive power is relatively strong in some old heavy industry regions,but the potential competitive power is rather weak compared with those regions in which the capital-intensive and knowledge-intensive new industries have a large proportion.The order of factors influencing regional comprehensive industrial competitive power is as follows: industry productivity, the ratio of industry adding value,the ratio of industry products sale and the share ratio of essential production factors.

Abstract:This paper focuses on the trend of regional economic disparities of Zhejiang province.Using four indices to evaluate the differences between the 11 cities,including Geordie coefficient,weighted variation coefficient,Theil coefficient and location quotient.On the basis of these indices,the author gives the R/S analysis to them,the outcome of the analysis shows that it suffices the Hurst principal,and it has typical self-similarity in time series,meanwhile,the trend of regional economic disparities trends to increase in the future.Finally,the paper gives deep discussion on the reasons that cause the economy differences among the cities.

Abstract:With the reference of the methodology and indicators of relative studies of international competitiveness,this article composes a comprehensive indicators system of international competiveness of regions in China,taking into account of domestic conditions.This system consists of three category indexes,twelve pillar indexes,dozens of subclass index and hundreds of specific indicators.In use of this system,the article makes an evaluation of international competitiveness of 31 provinces in mainland of China,and carries out comparative analysis of Shanghai and other regions.As a reference,a brief analysis of Shanghai's performance in the recent studies of competiveness of global cities is provided at the end of this article.

Abstract:This paper presents a fuzzy competitiveness rating (FCR) method for measuring the competitiveness of real estate developers with referring to the Chinese real estate industry. Research data used for analysis were collected from a case study in Green Town Company. Research into the assessment of real estate developers' competitiveness has been limited. The fuzzy competitiveness rating method is proposed as an alternative effective approach in assessing the competitiveness of real estate developers. The FCR method furnishes real estate developers with innovative solution to assess their competitiveness. By understanding properly organizational competitiveness, real estate developers can adopt appropriate actions and strategies to utilize organization resources more effectively to enhance their competitiveness, thus improve their business performance in the real estate market.

Abstract:Since coming into the 21st century,the development environments of Fujian have been profoundly changed.For improving competition of regional development,Fujian put forward a concept of building the economic zone on west shore of the Taiwan straits.In the paper,11 cities in the zone are taken as main research objects.By setting up the index system of urban competitive power,the competitive superiority and inferiority of the cities are evaluated with the method of principal component analysis.It is found that the coastal cities have more obvious competitive advantages than the inland.According to the present situation,development strategies for the economic zone are brought out,including construction of infrastructure,improvement of industrial development,strengthening the regional cooperation and communication with the Yangtze River Delta,the Pearl River Delta and Taiwan area.

Abstract:Cv and Theil Index,calculated with per capita GDP of all the cities and counties are used to indicate the decrease of regional inequalities of Fujian Province since 1990s in this paper. And by the decomposition of Theil index,it shows that coastal-inland inequality has been intensified and the inter-city inequality lessened. Then it explores the maps with per capita GDP data,and analyzes the involvement of spatial patterns of regional inequalities from 1990 to 2006,and concludes that Fujian's economic development spatial structure has been involved to a core-periphery unit consists of five sub-core-periphery units.

Abstract:The metropolis circle is one of the important spatial organization forms in promotion of the regional economy. With the mutual integration and development of urban regionalization and regional urbanization, the competitiveness of metropolis circle has become the key concerns of many courses. On the basis of domestic and foreign relevant researches concerning the competitiveness of metropolis circles, in aspects of conformity power, hard power, soft power, this paper has discussed the evaluation system of the competitiveness of metropolis circles covering 36 indicators. It is of great realistic significance for the integrated development of regional economy to respectively discuss the upgrading strategy of competitiveness, by way of applying this system to make an overall access of the six domestic metropolis circles according to the status in quo of the metropolis circles in the east, middle and west regions of China.

Research on Land Use Performance and Its Geographical Difference at County Level in Zhejiang

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to measure the performance of urban land use and its coordination degree at county level in Zhejiang, and discuss the mechanism of its geographical difference. Methods of AHP and spatial autocorrelation were employed. Based on the "4E" urban land performance evaluation framework, the results indicated that economic performance and efficiency performance are spatially clustered; effectiveness performance and equity performance present spatial dispersion; the urban land performance can be classified into four kinds of spatial patterns, in which high performance and low performance convergence is widely and steadily distributed; the coordination degree of performance presents the phenomenon that it is not in direct ratio with economic development level. It is concluded that the land economic performance and efficiency performance are mainly affected by scale effect, industrialization process and regional innovation, and they present a prominent feature of spatial cluster;however, effectiveness performance and equity performance show an opposite feature of polarization; the major mechanisms of H-H and L-L spatial cluster are industrial gradient transfer, demand drive and other spillover effects based on regional industrial division system, as well as nearing study mechanisms; and industrial structure upgrading can improve the urban land use pattern and land performance coordination degree.
Evaluation on Comprehensive Benefit and Spatial-temporal Variance for Urban Land:A Case of Zhejiang Province

Abstract:The purpose of the paper is to establish a evaluation system on ULCB(urban land comprehensive benefit) by comprehensively evaluation on 11 cities' ULCB of Zhejiang Province from 2000 to 2004.Methods employed included weighted average,spearman rank relational coefficient,clustering and GIS analysis.Results show:(1)during the five years from 2000 to 2004,the change tendency of ULCB and harmony degree in Zhejiang Province indicate up and down respectively,and the tendency is different in 11 cities,however;(2)the relationship between ULCB,monomial benefit and harmony degree is diversified;(3)the ULCB,monomial benefit and harmony degree have no significant relationship with the urbanization level;(4)it reveals from the clustering and GIS analysis that those 11 cities can be divided into 5 classes,such as high benefit and basic harmony,medium benefit and high harmony,medium benefit and basic harmony,low benefit and basic harmony and low benefit and basic harmony.It is concluded that,as a whole,the land use condition in Zhejiang Province is sound,and the analysis on spatial variance witnesses specific characteristic of "industrial clusters" of Zhejiang economy,but the quality of urbanization should be improved in the future.

Abstract:In recent years, local governments in China pay more and more attention to regional economic competitiveness for they begin to take the responsibility of developing local economy. Therefore, the study of relationships between regional finance and regional economy has become an important issue.Here, we briefly review literature on the relationship between regional finance and regional economy and illustrate the specific mechanisms and patterns by which regional finance influences regional economy, discuss the empirical results of impacts of regional financial development on regional economic competitiveness, and propose the policy implications. We empirically investigate two empirical models on the relationship between regional financial development and regional economic competitiveness in Zhejiang province. The empirical results are consistent with previous evidence that financial regional development is positively related to regional economic competitiveness. The findings are quite useful for local government to make policies.

A study on RSR evaluation of health service capacity of county-level administrative areas based on entropy weight TOPSIS method in Fujian Province in China

Abstract:Objective To identify the differences in health service capacity among county-level administrative regions in Fujian province in China, so as to provide decision-making ideas and basis for high-quality development of the county medical community system with Fujian characteristics,and to prevent health reform from diverging from the essence of meeting everyone's health needs and improving health service capacity. Methods The entropy weight TOPSIS and RSR methods were used to comprehensively evaluate the health service capacity of 84 county-level administrative areas in Fujian Province in China.All data are from the official website of Fujian Provincial Bureau of Statistics. Results The results show that the evaluation system of health service capacity with seven indicators, including per capita GDP, number of resident population, number of health institutions, number of beds in health institutions, number of health technicians, number of licensed (assistant) doctors and number of registered nurses,has a good discrimination. The index entropy weights are 0.09, 0.11, 0.12, 0.15, 0.17, 0.19, 0.17 respectively.According to the principle of reasonable grading of normal distribution, the health service capacity is divided into three grades by the Probit value, including 13 weak ones and 14 strong ones. It is worth noting that, as a typical example of China's health reform, the county-level health service capacity of Sanming City in Fujian Province is only in the middle, and even Ninghua County is weak. Conclusion s The entropy weight TOPSIS and RSR methods make use of the characteristics of the data itself, avoid the influence of subjective judgment of the evaluation subject, and can quickly make classification judgment. This study uses the statistical yearbook data to construct an evaluation model of 7 indicators, which can well classify the health service capacity of 84 county-level administrative areas. According to the evaluation results of the health service capacity in Sanming City, where the health reform model has been widely praised, it suggests that the health service capacity building cannot be ignored in the health reform evaluation. An objective evaluation may provide more valuable reform recommendations.
