Abstract:Chinese higher education is undergoing fundamental changes to meet the demand of producing high quantity and quality college students. These changes have significantly impacted the work lives of Chinese faculty members. This study investigated Chinese young faculty's job perceptions using four variables: intrinsic motivation, job burnout, job satisfaction, and turnover. The findings revealed that surveyed faculties had high intrinsic motivation, relatively high professional efficacy, and low turnover. However, they showed job burnout as indicated by emotional exhaustion and they demonstrated moderate intrinsic satisfaction and low extrinsic satisfaction. The study proposed that a healthy academic environment is needed for sustainable scholarship development.

Abstract:In this paper, we conduct research on MOOC and multimedia technology with applications on the contemporary literature teaching in the colleges and universities. Modern and contemporary literature teaching should be recognized is aging, rigid, not adapt to the problems of the times, including floating style of general study, should be noticed and effectively solved. Now all kinds of conferences and activities a lot, all kinds of the quantitative indicators are "forced" people use more energy to fight for topic, research, teaching duty work could instead focus on less. Different school teachers on the same subject if able to communicate more, complement each other, each other will be beneficial to promote the reform of this course. This paper proposes the novel paradigm for the basic education patter for MOOC and multimedia based literature classes that are innovative.

Abstract:Most of the university students enrolled in 1977 and 1978 have experienced the hardships and tribulations of going and working in the countryside or mountain areas.They are the group of people that have won the fiercest competition of college entrance examination.They have great difference in age with abundant social experiences and strong desires for knowledge.They have learned as hard as they can with positive mentality and enterprising spirits.However,their knowledge is not complete and English basis is weak.They are the beneficiaries,pushers and vindicators of the reform and opening up.Their destinies are closely tied to reform and opening up.As a special group born in the special historical period,the experiences of the university students enrolled in 1977 and 1978 can not be replicated,however,their experiences and spirits can be inherited.

Abstract:Based on the analysis of the present college English teaching in China, this paper puts forward a new theory that Chinese college English teaching is now entering upon a critical stage of transition in history, a stage characterized by the increasingly fuzzy divide between ELT at the secondary level and at the tertiary level (also between English major and non-English major), and the shift of ELT from uniformity to individuality. It calls for studies of such issues as individualized teaching and learning requirements and individualized tests, turning general English into English for specific purposes at college and university, and rethinking Chinese college English teaching system.

Abstract:: In order to give full play to the role of situational teaching method in college English teaching, based on constructivist theory, this article analyzes the applied principles: communicativeness, creativity, hierarchy, openness, and inquiry; summarizes the types of situations: life situation, games situation, physical situation, competition situation, performance situation and music situation; puts forward the application strategies: designing problem situations to stimulate students’ English learning motivation; creating an equal teacher-student relationship and correctly understanding the status and role of teachers and students; designing situations based on teaching content and students’ characteristics; using modern education technology to create situations to mobilize students’ multiple sensory experiences; using textbook content to activate situations to help students understand the differences between Chinese and Western cultures.

Abstract:The paper probes into the detailed strategies to independent academic identity,developing and management of college freshmen from the perspective of disciplines and development.95 students in the Academic Norm and Paper Writing course complete the questionnaire about relationship between self and academic profession.The results indicate: college freshmen who have intended to go into or have already in different disciplines,and sophomores and the senior undergraduates,have already or will take their own Learning and Research / Practice,Communication,Integration in course and after course.However,in all kinds of the detailed strategies of exploration action,college freshmen who have intended to go into or have already in different disciplines,college freshmen and sophomores and the senior undergraduates,are similar and different.It enlightens college freshmen about independent developing and management of academic identity in the context of academic literacy training,and becomes an individual who with the positive personality character of academic fidelity.
The Academic Profession in China in the Context of Social Transition: an Institutional Perspective

Abstract:The study deals with the academic profession in China. Its characteristics and relationship with changing social institutions are explored by a historical approach and from an institutional perspective, which includes two elements of government and organization. The major findings of this study are summarized below. First, in accordance with China’s legal framework, public and private higher education institutions are categorized as different legal entities, a difference that leads to favourable conditions for the academic profession in the public sector and to less favourable conditions in the private sector, and which also obstructs personnel flow and competition between the two sectors. Second, the personnel system has changed significantly since 1978, when it was reformed and the policies became more open. This change is largely led by the central government. As regards faculty hiring and promotion, qualification and performance are emphasized over seniority. As regards remuneration and benefits, the egalitarian approach has gradually been replaced by income gains based on performance. Finally, evidence shows that China’s higher education institutions has evolved from so-called danwei governed under a planned system to organizations ruled by the market system, which has caused the academic profession to evolve from a danwei profession into a more organizational one.

Abstract:The purpose of this work is to elucidate the intergenerational characteristics of online behaviors of Chinese “post-00s” college students, which contain positive and negative factors. To this end, we endeavor to explicate their online behaviors through an empirical viewpoint and a comparative analysis approach. The present paper will outline the intergenerational characteristics of online behaviors from tripartite perspective. First of all, in terms of online social behavior, it evinves the coexistence of diversification and circle stratification, thereby blocking mainstream discourse from intervening. Secondly, in terms of online entertainment behavior, it has increasingly become fanatical and dramatic, impeding the dissemination of mainstream values. Lastly, regarding online learning behavior, it is progressively self-reliant and reciprocal, gradually diminishing intergenerational emotional dependency and shaking the dominant position of mainstream ideology. The dichotomy of their online behaviors is likely to result in the predicament of online behavior anomie, posing challenges to the efficacy of moral education in Chinese tertiary institutions. Confined from the perspective of moral education, to effectively avert the anomie of online behavior among Chinese “post-00” college students, this manuscript will proffer three measures to bolster the efficacy of moral education in Chinese tertiary institutions. One is to augment mainstream discourse intervention and advance online media literacy education. The second is to facilitate the propagation of mainstream values and refine the digital ecosystem. The third pertains to the modernization of moral education’s narrative and spatial structure, culminating in the elevation of mainstream ideology’s prestige.

Abstract:The need to reform traditional college classroom teaching and learning can no longer be ignored.This paper analyzes the traditional college classroom,which emerged from the soil of industrialization,and compares them to innovations in college curriculum and learning.Trends in college classroom life show major shifts to a high-efficiency environment that is grounded in information technology and learning science.Based upon extensive research and experiments in college learning during the emerging information age,the Chi inherits and carries forward Chinese traditional culture and educational wisdom,merges the eastern and western university spirits,and absorbs the non-linear concepts and methodology from the sciences.To achieve the Tai Chi requires a Tai Chi Revolution,the bi-directional merging of a brick-and-mortar classroom with a virtual environment that is grounded in learning science.The new Academy with IT and learning science has two levers that drive new learning practices, and which becomes the incubator of reform in college curriculum and instruction.This paper introduces the design of the Chi and its rudimentary exploration in Nanjing University.This overall reform strategy of 21st century college teaching shifts learning from a consumer orientation to one that emphasizes individual productivity and creativity.The evaluation of learning over time,and the design of web courses is based upon the principle of breaking up the whole into learning parts,and depositing student outcomes in a lump sum in credit banks of colleges and universities.

Abstract:The Yan'an Spirit is a unique ideological and cultural phenomenon that emerged during the period of China's War of Resistance against Japan. It represents the experience summary and theoretical innovation of the Chinese nation in the Yan'an area. The Yan'an Spirit is an important part of China's spiritual heritage with rich connotations. It not only enabled the Chinese nation to defeat the Japanese invaders in conjunction with the international community during World War II, but also helped to establish a more confident national identity, providing great impetus for China's modernization. Today, university education in China has the mission of cultivating students. Integrating the Yan'an Spirit into university education can help college students strengthen their ideals and beliefs, and persist in seeking truth from facts. Therefore, in the new era, it is necessary to combine the characteristics of China's university education with the actual situation of universities' own development, and continually explore innovative paths to integrate the Yan'an Spirit into university education in China.
