Abstract:Plastics play a crucial role in modern society life. While the increasing use of plastics and rapid accumulation of plastic waste in nature environment have caused severe environ-mental crisis and the waste of carbon resources.Catalytic upcycling is a promising approach to transform plastic waste into high value-added chemicals to achieve a sustainable circular economy.Recently, intensive efforts have been made to develop catalytic systems for upcycling of polyolefins[1,2]and polyesters[3,4]into diverse value-added chemi-cals.In addition to upcycling processes, the catalytic re-cycling of plastic waste is considered as a highly efficient strategy for the recovery of corresponding monomers, especially for the recycling of polyesters due to the decom-posable ester bond in their backbone compared with the inert C-C bond in polyolefins. However, most catalytic recycling processes of poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET),the most abundant polyester plastic, require harsh conditions with high temperature(>180 ℃)and/or pressure(2~4 MPa)[5].Therefore,it is of significance to develop efficient catalytic systems for recycling polyesters under mild conditions to reduce energy consumption.
