Abstract:All-solid-state lithium metal batteries (All-solid-state LMBs) have received tremendous attention as next-generation energy storage devices. Due to the lack of fast ion transport channels, the low ionic conductivity of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO)-based composite solid-state polymer electrolytes (CSPEs) limits the application of all-solid-state batteries at room temperature. In this work, a 3D fast lithium-ion conducting network in a PEO-based CSPE is constructed by filling the pore channels of an in-situ grown ZIF-8 with an ionic liquid (IL). The CSPE exhibits a high ionic conductivity of 2.57×10 -4 S cm -1 and a high transference number of 0.59 at room temperature. The constructed solid-state batteries (SSBs) with the CSPE and various cathodes, including 1,1'-iminodianthraquinone (IDAQ), LiNi 0.8 Co 0.1 Mn 0.1 O 2 (NCM811), and LiFePO 4 (LFP), show ultra-long cycling life and high-capacity retention rate at room temperature. Especially for the SSB with the PEO-based CSPE and an LFP cathode, with a discharge capacity of 136.7 mAh g −1 and a capacity retention rate of 86.76% after 2000 cycles at 1 C, it is one of the best CSPE-based SSBs that has ever been reported.
