Abstract:The first highly regio-, chemo-, diastereo- and enantioselective direct vinylogous Michael addition of α,α-dicyanoolefins to α,β-unsaturated aldehydes is described, employing readily available chiral α,α-diarylprolinol salts as iminium organocatalysts.
