Abstract:Microorganisms are widely present in drinking water treatment systems and play an important role in the degradation of nitrogen by pollutants. The composition and assembly of microorganisms in advanced drinking water treatment processes is not yet clearly studied. Therefore, the microbial assembly mechanism and the contribution of abundant and rare species to the microbial construction of three processes in different seasons were explored in this study. The results showed that there were significant differences in microbial composition and diversity among the different treatment processes in different seasons, and chlorine-resistant bacteria Pseudomonas, Sphingomonas, and Phreatobacter were some of the dominant species. Abundant species accounted for a large number of sequence numbers, whereas rare species accounted for a high proportion of OTU numbers, which did not change with DWTPs (treatment processes) and seasons. Microbial concentration, assembly, network analysis, and functional prediction showed that ozone + activated carbon + UV decreased the bacterial concentration, increased the deterministic process of microbial assembly, and significantly reduced the size of the network and the concentration of resistance genes and pathogenic bacteria in water. This study is helpful for further understanding the microbial community construction process in the drinking water treatment process.
