Abstract:To evaluate the antibacterial effect of Chinese herbal medicines against non-O1/O139 Vibrio cholerae, the antibacterial effects of 23 kinds of Chinese herbal medicines extracted by water-boiling method, such as such as Phellodendron chinense and Galla chinensis, were detected by disc agar diffusion method in vitro. Totally 8 kinds of Chinese herbal medicines were selected to detect the minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) and the minimum bactericidal concentration(MBC) by a test tube double dilution method. The results showed that 8 kinds of Chinese herbs including Galla chinensis, Paeoniae Radix Alba, Phellodendron chinense,Chebula Ret, Crataegus pinnatifida Bunge, Punica granatum, Sanguisorba officinalis, and Chaenomeles sinensis had antibacterial effect on non-O1/O139 V. cholerae,in which G. chinensis, P. Radix Alba, and P. chinense were high sensitive to non-O1/O139 V. cholerae, with the diameter of inhibition zone of(19.92±1.24)mm,(19.50±0.74)mm,(18.92±2.12)mm, respectively. In addition, G. chinensis had the best inhibitor effect on non-O1/O139 V. cholerae, with the minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)and the minimum bactericidal concentration(MBC)of 7.81 mg/mL, followed by P. Radix Alba, with the MIC and MBC of 15.63 mg/mL and 31.25mg/mL, respectively. These findings provide theoretical basis for prevention and treatment the diseases caused by non-O1/O139 V.cholerae in aquaculture.
