Abstract:Flexible sensors have attracted extensive attention in biomolecular analysis, to realize human health detection, developing a flexible sensing interface for biological sample analysis is crucial. Herein, a caterpillar-like three-dimensional (3D) nanoconfined carbon fibers (Au/N-CNFs/CFs)-based flexible sensor is reported as a platform for electrochemical analysis of dopamine (DA) molecules. The carbon nanofiber-modified carbon fibers (CNFs/CFs) with abundant nanochannels were obtained by chemical vapor deposition, and the construction of nanoconfined spaces witnessed ultra-sensitive analysis of the sensing platform. The combination of a 3D network structure and surface N doping (N-CNFs/CFs) significantly enhanced the local enrichment of DA, providing a basis for ultrasensitive detection of DA. Moreover, surface functionalization of oxygen plasma increased the number of active sites. Furthermore, Au nanoparticles were successfully modified to enhance the electrocatalytic ability and electron transfer efficiency of the Au/N-CNFs/CFs. Notably, the detection limit for DA reached 0.0243 μM (S/N=3) in the linear range of 0.05–150 μM. Moreover, under optimal parameters, the designed electrode material in complex biological environment (human serum, urine, and artificial cerebrospinal fluid) was relatively good. Thus, the developed Au/N-CNFs/CFs provide a portable and efficient strategy for the clinical detection of biomolecules.
