Abstract:Waste melamine phenol-formaldehyde impregnated adhesive paper(MPF) is mainly made of carbon-based materials, and is used in a large amount. Improper disposal of harmful components such as melamine and phenolic will cause environmental pollution. Pyrolysis is one of the effective methods for the rapid and harmless treatment of MPF. The key to the products utilization is to understand the thermal decomposition behavior of each component in MPF. In this study, thermogravimetric experiments of MPF were conducted. The MPF reaction stages in the pyrolysis and their corresponding temperature were determined by combining the Gaussian peak fitting and kinetic analysis. The bench experiment was carried out on a fixed bed to collect bio-char, bio-oil, and bio-gas at the corresponding temperatures. The results showed that thermal decomposition processes of the three main components in MPF were independent of each other. The pyrolysis at 210~293 ℃ corresponded to the linear superposition of the melamine and phenol-formaldehyde decomposition. The bio-oil generated at 220 ℃ and 280 ℃ was primarily consisted of amines and acids, and the temperature mainly affected the decomposition rate of volatile components. The cellulose in adhesive paper decomposed when the temperature was higher than 293 ℃, and the bio-oil obtained at 550 ℃ was consisted of complex compositions, which mainly composed of amines(28.92%) and ketones(30.33%).The oxygen contained in the oxygen-containing functional group was insufficient for the complete oxidation of carbon, and led to the significant increase in CO content(20%). The enrichment of metal particles, which affecting the uniformity of biochar, was observed at high temperature(550 ℃).Overall, low-temperature pyrolysis(280 ℃) has a simpler composition of bio-oil and more uniform distribution of metals in bio-char, and the product has a greater post-treatment advantage than medium and high temperature pyrolysis(above 550 ℃) for the disposal of MPF.
